Bengaluru: The Karnataka Lokayukta police on Friday raided the Bangalore Development Authority’s office following many complaints and public grievance petitions against the agency.
According to a senior Lokayukta officer, the teams swooped down at the BDA office here in the morning and carried out searches in six different sections of the agency with several files being scrutinised.
Later speaking to reporters, Karnataka Lokayukta Justice B S Patil said the searches were conducted following many complaints flooding the Lokayukta office.
“We will investigate the cases in a systematic way, so that people should not face such problems in future. We have to investigate the previous cases and streamline things for future,” Justice Patil said.
“We are scrutinising all the files. We will open all the pending cases even if it takes 12 midnight or 1 am. We will bring out everything,” the Lokayukta said.
Refraining from sharing the details, Justice Patil said this was not the right time to share details and asked people to wait for the right time
“We are in the process of investigation. We will not share the details. We will only tell you that our team has come and started investigation. We will seize all the documents and conducted searches if required,” he added.
According to sources in the BDA, there were complaints of large-scale irregularities in the BDA with regard to some layout formation, distribution of plots, land acquisition processes and denotification of acquired land.

First of all, we will talk about post office FD which is called post office time deposit. You get the facility of time deposit up to 1, 2, 3 and 5 years in the post office. Their interest also varies according to the period. Interest rates have changed since January 1. That is, you can invest any maximum amount in it. In this, you do not have to deposit money for a very long time. This scheme matures in just 5 years. Interest is compounded on an annual basis and guaranteed returns are available.
Kisan Vikas Patra
The interest rate on Kisan Vikas Patra (KVP) has been increased from 7.0% to 7.2% with effect from January 1. You can start investing in Kisan Vikas Patra with just Rs.1000. After this, investment can be made in multiples of Rs.100. There is no maximum limit for investment in this. Account Single and 3 adults together can open joint account. Nominee facility is also available in this. Premature closure of KVP account can be done after 2 years 6 months from the date of deposit.
Hyderabad: The Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) MLA Eatala Rajender raised his request for office space in the Assembly premises in the Legislative Assembly on Wednesday.
However, he was interrupted by three Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) ministers who took serious exception when Eatala said that the BJP MLAs are even facing hardships to answer nature’s calls.
“This morning (Wednesday), I carried a tiffin box but had no space to sit and eat. As I had no place to go, I went to (CLP leader) Bhatti Vikramarka’s chamber to eat,” remarked Eatala.
Telangana finance minister Harish Rao then intervened and said that the house has set a rule of allotting office to the parties that have five or more MLAs.
Rajender in his reply to Harish Rao said, “everything doesn’t have to work as per the rules, and sometimes, the convention is followed.”
“You are a senior member of the house. You know the rules. Why are you wasting the house’s time? If you have any issues, you can talk to the Speaker,” he said.
Intervening, Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy then asked Eatala Rajendra to see him in the chamber if he had any grievances.
