Govt to conduct CBT for 5,204 staff nurse vacancies in Telangana

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: In a move to streamline the process of hiring staff nurses for various sectors, the Health Department has decided to conduct the appointment process online via Computer-Based Testing (CBT). Exam centers have been established in Hyderabad, Warangal, Khammam, and Nizamabad districts, with exams scheduled to take place in the next one or two months.

The examination paper is being prepared by Medical and Health while the examination will be conducted by Hyderabad JNTU. According to reports, the exam will be conducted in two sessions on the same day. The exam will have a maximum of 80 points, and 20 additional points will be given to employees serving on contract and outsourcing.

With a huge demand for staff nurse vacancies, there have been 40,936 applications received for 5,204 vacancies so far, meaning eight candidates are competing for each vacancy. The pay scale for these vacancies ranges between Rs 36,750 and Rs 1,06,990, which has made the jobs highly sought after.

    MS Education Academy

Candidates have already begun receiving coaching to improve their chances of success. Experts have advised candidates to prepare for the examination curriculum, which includes 14 topics of Anatomy and Physiology, six topics of Micro-Biology, and other areas such as first aid, psychology, sociology, basic principles of nursing, community health nursing, environmental hygiene, health education and communication skills, diet, medical surgical nursing, mental health nursing, child health nursing, midwifery, gynaecological nursing, nursing education, introduction to research, professional orientation and adjustment, nursing administration and ward management.

Employees working in tribal areas will be allotted 2.5 points for every six months, while those working in non-tribal areas will be allotted 2 points. The online examination process is expected to be beneficial in reducing the time taken for recruitment and increasing efficiency in the process.

The shortage of healthcare staff is a longstanding issue in India, particularly in rural and remote areas. The COVID-19 pandemic has further highlighted this issue and increased the demand for healthcare workers.

  • Husband pleads guilty to murder of Indian nurse, 2 kids in UK

Husband pleads guilty to murder of Indian nurse, 2 kids in UK

    [ad_1]

London: A suspect charged with the triple murder of an Indian nurse and her two children pleaded guilty to the murders at a court hearing in eastern England on Wednesday and was remanded in judicial custody until his sentencing in July.

Saju Chelavalel, 52, appeared at Northampton Crown Court, where he admitted to killing wife Anju Asok, 35, and children Jeeva Saju, 6, and Janvi Saju, 4.

All three victims were found in December last year when emergency services were called to their home in Kettering to reports that they had suffered serious injuries. Forensic post-mortem examinations, which took place at Leicester Royal Infirmary following their deaths, concluded that all three died as a result of asphyxiation.

    MS Education Academy

“This was an absolutely tragic case and there are no words to articulate the devastation Saju Chelavalel caused when he chose to end the lives of Anju, Jeeva and Janvi,” said Detective Inspector Simon Barnes, Senior Investigating Officer from the Northamptonshire Police.

“I am pleased that he has pleaded guilty and spared Anju’s family and friends the pain of a trial. He will have to live with what he has done forever and I hope one day, he truly comprehends the pain his actions have caused,” he said.

The officer said that Anju Asok will be remembered as “so much more” than his victim as he described her as a dedicated nurse, loving mother, and loyal friend.

“My thoughts remain with her loved-ones and will continue to do so long into the future,” he said, extending his gratitude to all the officers involved in the case.

“This was a case that affected many people and it was through sheer dedication and professionalism that Chelavalel has been brought to justice so quickly,” he noted.

Chelavalel pleaded guilty to three counts of murder at Northampton Crown Court and will be sentenced at the same court on July 3. The judge has indicated that he would be handed a life sentence, with the minimum term before parole to be determined by the sentencing judge.

Anju Asok, originally from Viakom in Kottayam district of Kerala, had been employed at the local hospital in Kettering since 2021. She worked as a nurse in the orthopaedic department of Kettering General Hospital, which has since paid tributes to her as a “committed and compassionate” staff nurse.

The local police have also shared information about a remembrance ceremony held last month in memory of the deceased family at Kettering Park Infant Academy, where Jeeva and Janvi were enrolled.

The children in their respective classes were given a balloon either pink, blue or silver, to represent Janvi, Jeeva and Anju. The children then gathered outside and were joined by the rest of the school as the song Somewhere over the rainbow’ played and the balloons were released. A poem was read and a minute’s silence was held and the schoolchildren then filed back into the school past two new memorial benches.

“It was an honour to be invited to this ceremony and join the children in remembering Anju and their two classmates Jeeva and Janvi. We were privileged to be shown their classrooms and spend some time with their teachers,” said Detective Inspector Barnes.

“We were handed a beautiful remembrance book, full of pictures and messages from the children’s classmates and all of the staff. This is now with the family in India. Whilst my team and I have a professional job to do, we are not immune to the personal impact such tragedies cause. The school did the family proud in what was a very touching tribute. All three were much-loved and will be missed by everyone,” he added.

Kerala: Male nurse arrested for raping female doctor, sharing nude photos

    [ad_1]

Kozhikode: Police on Thursday arrested a 24-year old male nurse for allegedly raping a female doctor and sharing her nude photos on social media.

The incident occurred in December last year when both were working at a hospital in Karnataka, police said.

According to the police, Nisham Babu hailing from Thrissur district allegedly raped the 28-year old doctor by giving her a false promise that a new job would be arranged for her at a hospital in Coimbatore.

The doctor was allegedly raped at a hotel here and her nude photos were taken after being lured into the trap.

The nurse, thereafter, allegedly sexually assaulted the doctor by threatening that her nude photos would be shared through social media platforms.

Palestinian nurse discovers his father’s body while treating injured patients

    [ad_1]

A Palestinian nurse treating patients injured in the deadly Israeli military raid on the city of Nablus on Wednesday was shocked when he announced the death of a man, only to later discover it was his father, local media reported.

“This is my father!” nurse Elias al-Ashqar yelled inside the emergency room of Al-Najah Hospital in Nablus, in a harrowing moment captured on video.

As per media reports, when Elias rushed to the emergency room and tried to resuscitate two of the injured without looking at their faces.

“When all attempts failed and the time of death was announced, Elias looked at the man’s face and yelled out my name at the top of his lungs: Aswad, this is my father!” Ahmed al-Aswad, the chief of the cardiac intensive care and Ashqar’s close friend, told Middle East Eye.

Sixty-five-year-old Abdelhadi al-Ashqar was returning from prayer in Nablus when he was caught up in the Israeli raid, AFP reported.

Abdelhadi was one of eleven Palestinians killed, most of them civilians. More than 100 others were injured.
