Feinstein ‘hopeful’ she can return to Senate next week, Schumer notes say

“It was in his notes, and he would have said if someone asked,” Schumer’s spokesperson told POLITICO.

Earlier on Tuesday Feinstein’s office told POLITICO that Feinstein “continues to make progress in her recovery” from shingles, but that her staff “don’t have a timeline yet for her return to Washington, which is dependent on her medical team saying it is safe to travel.”

A Feinstein spokesperson confirmed the senator and Schumer spoke, originally confirming the majority leader’s notes that the conversation occurred Monday and later saying that it happened Sunday night.

Senate Republicans blocked an attempt by Democrats last month to temporarily replace Feinstein on the Judiciary panel.

House Democrats, including Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.), and Ro Khanna (D-Calif.) have called on Feinstein to resign before the end of her term to allow a replacement to be appointed.

The race to replace Feinstein is already crowded, with House Democratic Reps. Adam Schiff, Katie Porter and Barbara Lee battling for the seat in deep-blue California. Complicating their races is Newsom’s 2021 commitment to appoint a Black woman for the Senate, should Feinstein resign.

Cycling notes: resist the temptation to take liquids while riding – archive, 1895

    [ad_1]

Many cyclists, especially beginners, are troubled by a tendency to get exceedingly hot when riding. This is, of course, usually a sign of want of condition, and will disappear when the rider gets into form. Sometimes, however, it remains, and this generally means that the cyclist has got into the bad habit of constantly drinking, than which nothing is more calculated to cause uncomfortable heat. It is in the beginning that this tendency should be overcome. The novice should resist the temptation to take liquids while riding, and, if possible, the annoying general thirst that will probably afflict him during the first weeks of his cycling, moving him to get up in the night and empty half his water-jug.

There is no necessity to go to extremes, however. I knew a beginner who was so determined to get into form quickly that he gave up nearly every sort of liquid, and inflicted unnecessary tortures on himself by reducing all drink to three-quarters of a pint in the 24 hours in summer, and at a time when he was cycling constantly. The limitation had no ill-effects – on the contrary, that cyclist is to-day absolutely impervious to thirst, – but a reasonable amount of restraint would suit most riders better. It is certain that no one who gives way to this habit of cultivating a seven-and-sixpenny thirst every time he goes out for a ride will ever become a really proficient cyclist.

    Lady cyclists
Any man who has ridden much with lady cyclists will in all probability have learned to carry a yard or two of wire about his person. He will have been driven to this course by the sight of the innumerable small repairs which a lady can effect by means of the ever-useful hairpin. She will detach a pneumatic tyre cover with it, fasten on a splash guard, tighten a loose mud guard, manufacture a washer for a refractory nut, mend the torn rubber of her pump, clean out oil holes, fasten on parcels, repair her own or her companions’ clothes, and in fact do almost anything with the handy little bit of wire she always can spare from her elaborate coils.

Ladies when buying machines should select one with a corded dress guard if possible. The old-fashioned leather guard is still fitted to many machines; it looks handsome, but there the merit stops. It adds a pound or two in weight; it often gets choked with mud, thereby “braking” the back wheel; and by closing in the wheel it creates air resistance and slows the machine. The laced cord is much better, and is very easily mended if a stray piece gives way. In muddy weather it lets a good deal of splash from the back wheel fly on to the rider’s dress, but this can easily be prevented by fastening a piece of macintosh or oilcloth across the mud guard, pinning it round the back stays. It can be removed instantly when done with.

    Hill climbing
A writer in the Scottish Cyclist recently remarked, with true Northern ‘canniness,’ “You’ll never learn to ride hills by walking them.” This is most true. The novice should not attempt to ride every hill he sees as a matter of course, but there is such a thing as being too careful, and riders who have been scared by the bogeys held up to them by such alarmist papers as the Lancet may never learn to ride hills decently at all, and thereby deprive themselves of one of the greatest pleasures of cycling. The power of riding on mile after mile for half a day or more without even feeling a strain on any ascent is a delightful one, but it is not to be obtained for the wishing; like other good things, it has to be earned. If the beginner makes up his mind never to shirk a hill that is reasonably within his powers, he will soon find the hill-climbing knack come to him as if by magic; but if he saves himself too much he will develop into one of those cyclists who are constantly asked by ribald friends “why they bring their bicycles along every time they go out for a walk?”

Reasonable caution in all athletics is necessary, but the cycling novice need not imagine he is going to tear a muscle in two or strain his heart every time he finds it necessary to “put his back into it” for a minute. The practised cyclist may indulge himself in the matter of walking hills to any reasonable extent; he has developed the power of riding them, and only needs to keep it from routine.

POLITICO obtained a copy of the letter sent to House Intelligence Committee Chair Mike Turner (R-Ohio). Tim Parlatore, one of the letter’s signatories, told POLITICO that it was also sent to House Intel Democrats and to Republicans and Democrats on the Senate Intelligence Committee. The letter was first reported by CNN.

“Please know that despite the differences in the cases, we do not believe that any of these three matters should be handled by DOJ as a criminal case,” Trump’s lawyers wrote. “Rather, the stakeholders to these matters should set aside political differences and work together to remediate this issue and help to enhance our national security in the process.”

The letter said two of Trump’s lawyers, Parlatore and Jim Trusty, reviewed 15 boxes of documents that were taken to Mar-a-Lago after Trump left the White House and then later sent to the National Archives.

“Following its review of the materials, NARA inserted placeholder pages where it had removed documents with classification markings,” reads the letter, signed by Parlatore, Trusty, John Rowley and Lindsey Halligan. “That allowed Messrs. Parlatore and Trusty to discern what the documents were, as well as what other materials in the boxes were in the proximity of the marked documents when the White House staff packed them. The vast majority of the placeholder inserts refer to briefings for phone calls with foreign leaders that were located near the schedule for those calls.”

The appearance of documents marked classified at Mar-a-Lago, the lawyers continue, was “the result of haphazard records keeping and packing by White House staff and GSA.”

Rules issued by the Reserve Bank According to the new rules of the Reserve Bank, if you also have old or mutilated notes, then you do not have to worry at all. Now you can exchange such notes by visiting any branch of the bank. If any bank employee refuses to exchange your note, then you can also file a complaint about this. According to RBI, any torn note will be accepted only when a part of it is missing, or which consists of more than two pieces and is pasted together, provided that no essential part of it is missing. If some special parts of the currency note, such as the name of the issuing authority, guarantee and promise clause, signature, Ashoka Pillar, picture of Mahatma Gandhi, water mark, etc. are also missing, then your note will not be exchanged. Soiled notes which have become unusable due to circulation in the market for a long time can also be exchanged.

Such notes can be changed from the RBI office, very burnt notes, or notes sticking together can also be changed, but the bank will not take them, you will have to take them to the issue office of RBI. Remember that these things will definitely be checked by the institution that the damage to your note is genuine and not intentionally damaged.

  • Damage Notes Holders Alert: Important! Damaged notes

    [ad_1]

If you have Torn Notes and you are not able to play that note anywhere, because shopkeepers refuse to take it. So now you do not need to worry because after reading the news of this work, you will get perfect notes instead of your mutilated notes.

That is, now you will not need to run the Damage Note at a discount with a lower price. Actually we are saying this because RBI has made some rules to change this tape pasted note. Let us know that according to bank rules, how you can change these notes and how you can get full money back. That is, how can you make this tape sticking note valid.

    RBI rules on mutilated notes

RBI says that old and torn notes can be easily replaced and for this the bank does not charge you any fee. But, if the note is badly burnt or has been broken into many pieces, then such note will not be exchanged. According to the circular of the Reserve Bank, there is a fixed limit for replacing your mutilated notes.

For example, a person can change a maximum of 20 notes at a time, but their total value should not exceed Rs 5,000. At the same time, badly burnt, mutilated notes cannot be exchanged in the bank, because they can be deposited only in the issue office of RBI.

    Bank responsibility

According to the Reserve Bank, if a bad or fake note comes out from the ATM, then it is the responsibility of the bank. If there is any kind of defect in the note, then it should be examined by the employees of the bank. If the serial number, watermark of Mahatma Gandhi and the oath of the Governor are visible on the note, then the bank will have to change the note in any case.

The more torn the note, the more it costs

It depends on the condition of your note and note value whether you will get full money back or not. In case of slightly mutilated note, full money is received, but if the note is more torn then you will get some percentage of the money back.

For example, if you have a note of 2000 rupees, whose 88 square centimeter part will give you its full value. On the other hand, if the share is 44 square centimetres, half the amount will be given. Similarly, if 78 square centimeters of a torn note of Rs 200 is safe, then full money will be available, but only half the money will be available on 39 square centimeters.

Second example – If the largest piece of a note with a value of less than Rs.50 is more than 50 percent of the normal note, then on exchange of this note, its full value will be received. If the largest piece of a note with a value of more than Rs 50 is 80 percent or more than the normal note, then you will get the full price for the exchange of this note.

How to replace torn note received from ATM?

To replace the mutilated notes that came out of the ATM, you have to go to the bank from whose ATM the notes came out. You will have to write an application after going there. In which you will have to write the information about the date, time and place from where the money was withdrawn.

After this, along with the application, the transaction related slip from the ATM will also have to be attached. If the slip has not been issued, then the details of the transaction received on the mobile will have to be given. After this your notes will be changed by the bank immediately.

Gujarat Police arrests fake currency notes kingpin from Telangana

    [ad_1]

Rajkot: A police team from Gujarat’s Rajkot has arrested fake currency notes case prime accused Ramesh Babu Kasturi from Hyderabad, an official said on Wednesday.

Kasturi was arrested by the Telangana Police from Hyderabad in September 2022, but later released on bail and was back to printing fake currency notes.
