Over 13 Kanals forest land illegally occupied by ex minister retrieved in Shopian
Shopian, Feb 06 : The authorities on Monday said it retrieved over 13 Kanals of forest land illegally occupied by former minister and now a DAP leader during the ongoing eviction drive in south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a revenue department team along with forest department retrieved 13 Kanal and 16 Marlas forest land from former minister Taj Mohi-Ud-din in Sedow area of Shopian.

He said that around 35 Kanals of land was there of which 13 Kanals and 16 Marlas were found illegally occupied the former minister—(KNO)

Amid ongoing eviction drive, admin issues list of hotels raised illegally in Sonamarg, Gagangir
Ganderbal, Feb 05 (KNO): Amid the ongoing eviction drive across Jammu and Kashmir, the authorities have issued a list of hotels that have been raised illegally in Sonamarg & Gagangir area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.
An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that at least 28 hotels have been found to be illegally raised on stateland and kahcharai land in Sonamarg and Gagangir areas.
He said action will be taken against all these land grabbers as per law of the land as higher ups have already issued directions in this regard.
As per the official hotels include Hotel Shahi Jahan, Hotel Snow King, Hotel Tramboo, Hotel Country Inn, Hotel Khohinoor, Hotel Sheen, Hotel Vista, Hotel Namroze ,Hotel Thajiwas Glacier, Sindh Resorts, Hotel Snowland, Hotel Palace, Hotel Tranquil Retreat, Hotel Mountain View, Hotel Imperial, Hotel Burzaman, Hotel Dream Land, Hotel Snowland, Snow Hail, Hotel Sonamarg Inn, Hotel Salman, Hotel Relax Inn, Hotel Zum Zum, Hotel Snow Hearts, Hotel Neel Gagan, Hotel Al Bahar, Hotel Himalayan Resorts and Hotel Sunshine—(KNO)

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued a statement clarifying that the NEET UG 2023 admission exam will only be held once a year, despite growing rumours to the contrary. The NTA made the announcement while replying to Right to Information (RTI) query filed by a student activist.
“No NEET twice in a year, #NEET 2 times in a year was a good option for aspirants but the government doesn’t want to help NEET UG aspirants,” reads a tweet by RTI Activist Vivek Pandey. He also added a screenshot of the NTA response in which the management has stated that there is no change in the decision of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW) regarding the number of times the NEET (UG) is to be conducted in a year. “Henceforth, the information sought is not available,” read the NTA’s reply.

The NEET UG 2023 entrance test will be held on May 7 this year. It should b noted that the NEET UG 2023 exam will only be offered once a year.
The NTA announced the NEET UG 2023 exam date on December 15, 2022, but has not yet released any information on the application procedure, admit cards, results, etc. The NTA is expected to announce the NEET UG 2023 announcement soon.

Students can download the JKBOSE board exam date sheets by visiting the official website of the Board at jkbose.nic.in.

This will be for the first time that board exams in Kashmir will be held in March. In August last year, the government shifted the academic session to March in sync with National Education Policy (NEP).
“The theory examination in UT of Jammu and Kashmir be conducted from the first week of March as per the present Academic calendar of Jammu Summer Zone (except in difficult areas of Jammu region) and some areas of Kashmir region,” said the government order,

Furthermore, the examination in these difficult areas shall be delayed and held from the 2nd week of April as per the calendar proposed when these areas are fully accessible and the delivery of the examination stationary and confidential material is ensured.
“Even though if examination in these difficult areas shall be conducted separately, the result of these examinations can be declared simultaneously, as although the difficult areas constitute approx. 30-35% of the area of the UT, the total number of students from these areas is not more than approx. 10-12%, since the areas are sparsely populated and the evaluation of Answer Scripts shall take less time.”

As per the ‘Uniform Academic calendar, the students who appear in Class 10 and 11 examinations shall be provisionally admitted in Class 11th and 12th respectively after the conclusion of the Board examination.
“Students, who are declared unsuccessful in the results, shall be permitted to continue their studies in Class 11th and 12th till the result of the Biannual/Annual Private examinations are declared. In respect of the candidates who fail to pass in Bi-annual examination, provisional admission shall be canceled,” the order said.

Kashmir Weather Predicts Light To Moderate Rain/Snow For J&K: Under the influence of a Western Disturbance, light to moderate rain/snow is expected at most places in Kashmir and some places in Jammu region, between tonight and tomorrow evening.
North Kashmir’s higher reaches can expect snow showers beginning at around 11 p.m. today. By tomorrow 9 a.m., rain/snow would have occurred at most places in Kashmir. There is a possibility of snowfall in plains too.
Improvement in weather is expected from tomorrow afternoon/ late afternoon onwards. However, a few places may continue to receive light rain/snow showers until evening (maximum possibility for higher reaches of north Kashmir.)
