Raja Singh to lead Rama Navami procession

Controversial MLA T Raja Singh of Goshamahal who is currently suspended from BJP is set to lead the Ram Navami Shobha Yatra in Hyderabad on March 30.

On his Twitter, he shared his video inviting all ‘Ram-bhakt’ to join the procession.

Last year, he made provocative statements during the procession, and the Shahinayathgunj police station registered a case against the MLA.

In his speech, Singh spoke against the alleged boycott of Hindu vendors in the Old city on the occasion of Ramzan. He said, “If Hindus were to target the traitors (Muslims) similarly, they would run out of business and would not even be in a position to beg as even alms are given to the poor by Hindus.”

He further remarked, “If Hindus awaken, all Muslims will be vanquished.”

In August last year, the police issued a notice to the MLA in the hate speech case.

Hyderabad: Fake letter claiming terror attack on Ram Navami creates panic

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: With just two days ahead of Sri Ram Navami celebrations, the city police went into a tizzy on Tuesday after receiving an anonymous letter claiming a terrorist attack on Sardar Vallabhbhai National Police Academy, Sri Ram Navmi Shobha Yatra, and the State BJP office.

However, the Hyderabad police have categorically denied the letter’s authenticity and declared it false. The police claimed that enmity among family members was the motive behind the mischief of writing the complaint and that a lady lawyer is suspected to be involved in the controversy. The police have made foolproof security arrangements for Sri Ram Navmi Shoba Yatra, which falls on March 30.

    Fake letter

The anonymous petitioner claimed to be Uma Maheswari, a resident of Mandi Mir Alam, and sent the letter to the National Police Academy, prompting the Telangana State Intelligence Department to take action.

The anonymous letter targeted a particular family from the Old City that includes an employee of Amazon. The letter claimed that Fatema Asadi is heading a banned terrorist organization named Saraya-Al-Mukhtar, based in Bahrain, and that her husband, an employee of Amazon, is also linked to the terrorist group.

The mischief monger claimed that the terrorist group is planning to target Sardar Vallabhbhai National Police Academy, Sri Ram Navmi Shobha Yatra, and the State BJP office, as well as suspended BJP MLA T Raja Singh.

Upon receiving the information, the intelligence department swung into action and found the letter to be fake and based on false allegations.

A press clarification from the Hyderabad Police Commissioner’s office said that the complaint is false. Earlier, two similar complaints were lodged against Asad Abidi and his wife, accusing them of being terrorists.

The first petition was lodged in the name of Radhika Rangwal. The present petition is lodged in the name of Uma Maheshwari.

“We have inquired into the previous two petitions. The inquiry revealed that Asad Abidi is an employee of Amazon. His wife is a housewife and a resident of the Michowk area. His antecedents were also verified. They do not have any terrorist links,” said an official from the Hyderabad city police.

It is learned that Fatima and her sister were to be married within their relative circle. As Fatima married Asad Abidi, the affected family got offended. The above couple is suspecting a lady from that family, who is an advocate in Delhi.

Hyderabad: Controversial MLA T Raja Singh of Goshamahal who is currently suspended from BJP is set to lead the Shobha Yatra on March 30. The procession, which is scheduled to begin at 10:11 am, will start from the Akashpuri Hanuman Temple located at Mangala Hat Market Road in the city. However, the police is yet to grant permission for the yatra.

Last year, the procession began from the Seetarambagh temple in Mangalhat and proceeded to the Hanuman Vyayamshala School in Sultan Bazar, passing through various locations under the Goshamahal and Sultan Bazar traffic police stations. One tributary procession began from the Akashpuri Hanuman temple and joined the main procession at Gangabowli Junction. The police had imposed traffic restrictions at various points along the route.

Raja Singh’s offensive remarks at Ram Navami rally last year

Last year, Shahinayathgunj police station registered a case against Raja Singh following the provocative statements he made at a Ram Navami rally.

In August, the police issued a notice to the MLA in the hate speech case.

    The MLA’s political career

Raja Singh, who was with the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) from 2009 to 2013 and later with the BJP from 2014 onwards, has won an MLA seat for two consecutive terms.

He also floated the Sriram Yuva Sena long ago to reinforce his identity as a Hindutva leader at the national level and to increase his fan following in the country.

His uncompromising Hindutva stand helped him emerge as the favourite in his constituency and the sole MLA for the BJP in the 2018 assembly election when the party lost deposits in over 100 assembly segments among 119 constituencies in Telangana.

However, Raja Singh has been embroiled in several controversies in the past. Last year, he was arrested after he made derogatory comments against Prophet Mohammed.

The MLA claimed that he did it in retaliation against the state government’s decision to allow comedian Munawar Faruqui to hold a show in Hyderabad at Madhapur on August 20.

Restriction on Ram Navami procession: BJP MLA asks if Jharkhand is ruled by Taliban

    [ad_1]

Ranchi: The BJP on Tuesday created a ruckus in the Jharkhand Assembly over restrictions imposed on Ram Navami procession and wondered if the state is being ruled by the Taliban.

During the Question Hour, BJP legislator Maish Jaiswal demanded that DJ (large music system) be allowed in Hazaribag’s Ram Navami procession.

An agitated Jaiswal also tore his kurta while making the statement.

Wondering whether people are living in a state ruled by the Taliban, Jaiswal alleged that FIRs were filed against innocent people while five persons are on fast unto death in his constituency Hazaribag demanding that DJ be allowed during the procession.

Jaiswal also alleged that there was a deliberate attempt to destroy the 104-year-old tradition of Ram Navami procession in Hazaribagh.

BJP MLAs chanted slogans such as ‘Jai Shri Ram’ and ‘Jai Hanuman’ in the House and created uproarious scenes.

Minister Mithilesh Thakur claimed that those staging dharna seeking to play DJ in Hazaribag are BJP workers.

“There is a directive to comply with the orders of the Supreme Court and the high court regarding the decibel limit. We respect all religions – Hindu, Muslim, Sikh and Christian. We are real devotees of Ram,” he said.

Hundreds of people recently took out a rally in Hazaribag against the administration’s order prohibiting the playing of recorded music and carrying traditional weapons including lathis during Ram Navami processions.

Ram Navami processions in Hazaribag are held for a longer time compared to other parts of the state.

Amid the uproar, Congress MLA Deepika Pandey Singh reached the well of the House claiming she was insulted by the BJP as a saffron party MP has described her as Nagarvadhu’ (bride of the city).

She said: “I am a mother. I am a sister. They (BJP) don’t want Goddesses and Gods. They want a city bride. They are not Hindus, they act in the name of Hindus.”

Meanwhile, the Assembly passed two bills for setting up private universities in the state amid a demand by the BJP for sending the proposed legislation to the Select Committing for proper vetting.

Thakur said setting up two more universities would result in increasing enrolment of students for higher education. There are 16 private universities in Jharkhand.

Telangana: Ahead of Ram Navami, Hanuman Jayanti, state police on high alert

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: Telangana police are gearing up for the Sree Ramanavami and Hanuman Jayanthi festivals scheduled in March and the following months.

With the surcharged political atmosphere, Ramzan, and elections for Legislative Assembly, as well as Parliament, expected in 2023 the police are not leaving any stone unturned in their planning. Sree Ramanavami is on March 27 while Hanuman Jayanthi is on April 6.

According to BJP sources, the party will utilize it as an opportunity to spread its message of Hindutva and consolidate its vote bank. The party leadership reportedly asked its cadre to utilize every opportunity to strengthen the party at the grass root level.

In this scenario, it is evident there will be more rallies and major processions observed on a grand scale in all the districts of Telangana. The police asked the local intelligence offices to keep a close watch on the programs planned for the two festivals.

Senior police officials are keeping in mind the elections ahead and the politically surcharged atmosphere in the state before planning the bandobast operations. The local police as a confidence-building measure will take up flag marches along with Rapid Action Force in the coming days in all the districts, a senior police official said.

In Hyderabad, Goshamahal MLA, T Raja Singh will try to outdo his past processions’ grandeur and consolidate his position to see the BJP party revokes his suspension. The MLA known for his hate rhetoric might spend a huge sum to make the Sree Ramanavami procession a great success and the most talked about affair.

Grand processions on these two festivals commenced from 2010 onwards more so to consolidate the vote bank of the saffron party. Huge money is spent on making arrangements and inviting guest speakers from all over India.

During the procession, communal riots occurred in sensitive pockets of the Telangana State.
