Andhra ministers slam Rajinikanth for praising Chandrababu Naidu

    [ad_1]

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh ministers and leaders of ruling YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) have come down heavily on Tamil superstar Rajinikanth after the latter praised former chief minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president N. Chandrababu Naidu.

Tourism minister R. K. Roja slammed Rajninkanth for the praise lavished on Naidu. Roja, a former actor, called the superstar’s comments ridiculous.

While addressing centenary celebrations of TDP founder and former chief minister N. T. Rama Rao at Vijayawada on Friday, Rajinikanth had heaped praise on Naidu for his vision and the progress achieved by Hyderabad when he was the chief minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh.

Roja reminded Rajnikanth that Naidu was the chief minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh till 2004 and during the last 20 years, Hyderabad has seen development without Naidu.

Water Resources Minister Ambati Rambabu described Rajinikanth as a “coward”. He said the actor announced his entry into politics but later ran away. “Rajinikanth is not competent to speak about politics,” he said.

The minister recalled that Rajinikanth stood by Naidu even when the latter removed his father-in-law NTR from power.

YSRCP leader Kodali Nani remarked that Rajinikanth may be a hero in Tamil Nadu but he is a zero in Andhra Pradesh. “Do we need to hear from Rajinikanth about Chandrababu Naidu,” he asked.

Nani said the Tamil super star spoke a lot about the great qualities of NTR. “I want to ask him why he did not come to help NTR when he was attacked at Viceroy Hotel in Hyderabad,” he asked, referring to the Naidu-led revolt against NTR in 1995.

The YSRCP leader said that nobody is ready to believe what all Rajinikanth said about Naidu’s vision. He also remarked that the actor does shoots for films for three days and spends six days in hospital.

Calling Naidu a visionary, Rajinikanth has said that it was Naidu’s vision of developing Andhra Pradesh that would take the state to great heights in the country in the coming years.

The veteran actor said that Naidu is planning to develop Andhra Pradesh with a Vision 2047, and if that project gets implemented, Andhra will reach great heights in India. He prayed to the almighty to give Naidu the strength and power to implement it.

Rajinikanth claimed that Naidu had spoken about the Information Technology (IT) industry boom in the late 1990s when no one had even thought about it.

The actor said Naidu spoke about Vision 2020 in 1996 and how the IT industry would become a boom. Business tycoons like Bill Gates also appreciated Naidu and then set up their companies, he added.

Viveka’s murder a case study for police officers: Chandrababu Naidu

    [ad_1]

Kadapa: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) national President N. Chandrababu Naidu said on Tuesday that the murder of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy’s paternal uncle Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy is a case study for police officers.

The former Chief Minister felt that those who murdered Vivekananda Reddy should be punished sooner than later.

Addressing the TDP Zone-5 meeting at Kadapa, he said that it is the responsibility of everyone to punish in the people’s court those who resort to killings and try to escape from punishment. “How peace rallies can be taken out when those who are involved in murder are summoned for inquiry,” the TDP supremo asked, referring to a rally organised in Pulivendula town on Friday when Kadapa MP Y.S. Avinash Reddy’s father Y.S. Bhaskar Reddy was arrested in the case.

    MS Education Academy

He said that the entire murder case of the brother of a former Chief Minister, who is also a former MP and MLA and the paternal uncle of Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy, is a mystery.

“When the daughter of the victim wanted a post-mortem on the body, then the blame was passed on me in the name of Narakasura Raktha Charitra. Every attempt was made to escape from the murder case even by resorting to caste politics and this culture started only in Pulivendula,” Naidu said.

Recalling how the gag order was obtained from the court and how a CBI probe was demanded into the murder, the former Chief Minister said that ultimately Jagan Mohan reddy used this in the last Assembly polls as a weapon besides the “chicken knife” drama. Now those involved in the murder are stooping so low that they are even threatening the CBI, he remarked.

Terming Jagan Mohan Reddy “a demon haunting the state”, Naidu claimed that he is minting money in the name of pressing buttons. The total amount of corruption of Jagan Mohan Reddy, his cabinet ministers and his party MLAs is a whooping Rs 4 lakh crore, the TDP supremo alleged and said that the financial burden imposed on the people in the past four years is Rs 5 lakh crore while the state’s total debt burden is Rs 10 lakh crore.

Chandrababu Naidu also said that after the Legislative Council polls, the TDP has been marching ahead in an excellent manner in 108 Assembly segments.

Do not put your faith in Jagan: TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu tells people of Andhra

    [ad_1]

Nellore: On a day the ruling YSRCP launched a massive outreach programme under ‘Jagananne Maa Bhavishatyu’ (Jagan is our future), Telugu Desam Party chief N Chandrababu Naidu urged the people of Andhra Pradesh not to repose faith on Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Naidu made these remarks while addressing a TDP meeting in Nellore and declared that Reddy is not the future of Andhra Pradesh.

“Jagan is not your faith nor…your future,” remarked Naidu, as per a statement issued on Friday night, adding that people have to rethink on the trajectory that the state is moving in.

    MS Education Academy

He observed that the youth are getting addicted to drugs and abandoning activities useful for their families.

During his visit in Nellore, the former chief minister took a selfie in front of some rows of AP Township and Infrastructure Development Corporation (APTIDCO) homes, questioning why these houses are not yet allotted to the beneficiaries and called on TDP leaders to challenge Reddy on what he has done for the people and the state.

Naidu alleged the Chief Minister imposed a burden of Rs 10.5 lakh crore on the people of the state in the past four years, including levying tax on garbage.

He noted that it was the TDP which laid the foundation for welfare in the state when former Andhra Pradesh CM and party founder N T Rama Rao had launched the Rs 2 per kg rice scheme and houses for the poor. Naidu also highlighted the ‘largest’ number of welfare schemes rolled out by his government in Andhra Pradesh between 2014 and 2019.

The Leader of the Opposition highlighted that Reddy has completely neglected the Polavaram multi-purpose irrigation project.

TDP should regain past glory in Telangana: Chandrababu Naidu

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) national president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday called upon the party leaders and activists to work hard in bringing the TDP’s past glory in Telangana. Stating that while there is an immediate need for rebuilding the party in AP, Naidu added that he wanted all the 10 crore people in both Telugu states to become partners in improving economic conditions of the poor.

Addressing a gathering at the Exhibition Grounds in Hyderabad, he was speaking at te TDP’s 41st foundation day. “The TDP is a historical necessity for the people of Telangana. All the welfare schemes in both the Telugu states will be continued even after the TDP comes back to power. Assets will be created in these two states and they will be distributed to the poor,” Naid added.

The TDP’ chief’s remarks are interesting considering the fact that the TDP has been virtually wiped out in Telangana. While it managed to win 15 seats and two MP seats in the 2014 elections, it could win only two MLA seats in the following 2018 state polls (in an alliance with the Congress). There has been talk of the TDP’s revival here in the state. However, political pundits are skeptical.

Recalling that this is the day when the state’s history was rewritten, the party supremo said that the late NT Rama Rao founded the TDP only for the progress of the Telugus. “The TDP was born from the self-respect of the Telugus. It was the Late NTR who wanted the educated to be in politics and thus he engineers, doctors and other graduates,” Naidu said.

Naidu asked how Hyderabad was 25 years ago and how the city is now, observing that it is the IT industry that brought in such a huge change in the lifestyle of the citizens. “Mr Chandrababu said that he worked hard to develop Cyberabad and other areas of Hyderabad. He also said that people”People laughed at me when he wanted mobile phones to be introduced in the country but today no person leads his or her life without the hand phone.

TDP filled light in lives of Telugus: Chandrababu Naidu

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) national president and former chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said on Wednesday that his party filled light in the lives of Telugu people.

He greeted Telugu people on the 41st formation day of the TDP and recalled that the party took birth with the slogan of Telugu self-respect.

Naidu appealed to every citizen to strive to achieve the goal of TDP founder N.T. Rama Rao.

It was on March 29, 1982 that N.T. Rama Rao, a famous actor popularly known as NTR, floated TDP on the slogan of Telugu self-respect. The party created a record of sorts by coming to power in then undivided Andhra Pradesh within nine months.

Meanwhile, Naidu’s son and TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh took to Twitter to greet people on the 41st formation day of the TDP. He termed TDP as a symbol of self-respect of Telugu people and a sign of their political consciousness.

Lokesh said the yellow flag stood up for the oppressed classes in tune with the NTR’s ideology. The TDP gave hope to the poor and the weaker sections. The young leader also claimed that TDP has an indelible imprint on the development of various sectors. He said that lakhs of workers are the real strength of the TDP.

Lokesh stated that with the blessings of NTR and under the guidance of Chandrababu Naidu, the TDP will continue to work for its goal of public welfare.

Meanwhile, Chandrababu Naidu will address a meeting of TDP delegates in Hyderabad later Wednesday. After paying floral tributes at NTR Ghat, the TDP chief will reach Exhibition Grounds to address the meeting.

After a long gap, TDP held its politburo meeting in Hyderabad on Tuesday. The meeting presided over by Naidu decided to allot 40 per cent of the party tickets to youth in the next Assembly elections in both the Telugu-speaking states. Naidu asked the politburo members to prepare the party’s manifesto with the objective to transform the lives of the poor.

The politburo discussed various issues pertaining to both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. It decided to highlight anti-people, anti-farmer and anti-youth policies being pursued by the governments in both the Telugu states.

TDP MLA attacked in Assembly at Jagan’s behest: C Naidu

    [ad_1]

Amaravati: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) national president N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday alleged that a TDP MLA in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly was attacked by ruling YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) MLAs at the behest of Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

The former chief minister alleged that the attack on Dalit MLA, Dola Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy, was pre-planned and carried out with the encouragement from the chief minister.

Strongly condemning the attack on TDP MLA inside the Assembly, he termed it the darkest day in the history of Assembly.

Never in the history of Andhra Pradesh, a MLA was attacked inside the House and today is the darkest day in the Assembly’s history, Chandrababu Naidu said.

He stated that Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy will remain as a tainted chief minister who spoiled the image of the legislative bodies. “With the physical attack on the MLA right on the floor of the Assembly, the people clearly understood the policies of the YSRCP,” he said.

Terming the ongoing session of the Assembly as a “Kaurava Sabha”, Chandrababu Naidu felt that Jagan has gone “totally mad” with the latest results of the elections to the Legislative Council.

The state Assembly on Monday witnessed unprecedented scenes when the TDP members were staging a protest by surrounding Speaker Tammineni Seetharam. They were demanding the government to withdraw an order imposing restrictions on public meetings on roads.

Amid the ruckus, an MLA of the ruling party rushed to the Podium and pulled back Swamy, who fell down. Another YSRCP MLA had also joined the manhandling. MLAs of both the parties blamed each other for the attack.

AP: Naidu announces TDP tie-up with PDF for upcoming polls

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) national president Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday made it clear that his party had an alliance with the People’s Democratic Front (PDF) in the ongoing polls for the teachers and the graduate constituencies to avoid division of anti-incumbency votes to prevent Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP).

In view of the upcoming elections to be held on Monday, Naidu wrote an open letter to the voters which read, “Ever since the YSRCP came to power in the State, democracy is continuously being subjected to a virtual onslaught. As part of this attack, the ruling party is resorting to turn the upcoming elections into a farce.”

He said that in 2014, the TDP government strived hard to get investments to the state while facing several challenges and against heavy odds. “We have created 10 lakh jobs both in the public and private sector and also paid Rs 2,000 each as unemployment allowance to over 6 lakh youth,” said the former chief minister.

Naidu alleged that the companies are running away from the state due to “official terrorism by the government as a result of which unemployment is growing heavily, throwing the future of the youth into oblivion.”

“It is a known fact as to how this government has taken the youth for a ride with regard to the job calendar and district selection committee (DSC),” he added.

The TDP leader said that his party always accorded proper recognition to the employees and implemented 43 percent fitment despite facing problems due to bifurcation. “On top of it all, salaries were paid on the first of every month even after the state faced several financial problems,” he added.

“But now leave alone the fitment as demanded by the employees, salaries are not being paid on time,” he alleged.

“The whole State has witnessed how teachers were humiliated by drafting them for security duty to liquor shops,” said Naidu urging teachers and graduates to keep this in mind before exercising their franchise.

He said that there were large-scale irregularities by the YSRCP government during local body polls held two years ago. He alleged that the opposition party candidates were not even allowed to file their nominations.

“It has become a habit for this government to resort to irregularities in elections and in the ongoing polls too, it has raised curtains to the registration of bogus votes and forgeries,” said Naidu accusing the government.

Urging the voters to act sensibly and with awareness, Naidu said that several voters who enrolled themselves with the poll panel admitted that they are not graduates. “In Tirupati city alone seven lakh such voters were enrolled while in North Andhra over five lakh such voters were found,” he added.

He informed that the TDP party and other opposition parties have already complained to the Election Commission regarding bogus votes.

He called upon the voters to elect Vepada Chiranjeevi Rao, TDP candidate from North Andhra Graduates constituency, Kancherla Srikanth, party candidate from East Rayalaseema Graduates segment, Bhumireddy Rajagopal Reddy from West Rayalaseema, and other candidates from the TDP and PDF parties.

Telangana minister demands Naidu apologise for rice remark

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: Telangana Agriculture Minister Singireddy Niranjan Reddy on Monday demanded that TDP chief and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu apologise for his remarks that people of Telangana started eating rice only after the TDP introduced subsidised rice scheme in 1980s.

Niranjan Reddy said Naidu should know the history before saying something.

Naidu, president of Telugu Desam Party (TDP), had said on Sunday that the people of Telangana shifted to eating rice from porridges made from pulses and millets only after his TDP came to power.

He claimed that people of Telangana started eating rice only after then Chief Minister N.T. Rama Rao rolled out the Rs 2/kg rice scheme.

Naidu was speaking at the launching of the Intintiki TDP (TDP for every household) programme in Hyderabad.

His remarks evoked strong reaction from leaders of Telangana’s ruling party Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), who demanded that he apologise to people of Telangana.

Niranjan Reddy said as far back as the 11th century farmers in Telangana used to cultivate paddy, wheat, sorghum, ginger, turmeric, onion and sugarcane under the chain of ponds built by Kakatiya rulers.

He pointed out that Hyderabad has been famous for its Dum Biryani since the 15th century.

The minister said that Naidu’s remark that Telangana people started to eat rice only after TDP introduced Rs 2/kg rice is a proof of his lack of understanding and height of arrogance.

Biryani, Sherwani and Qubani were mentioned many times by Chief Minister KCR during the Telangana movement, he said.

Niranjan Reddy also said that the Telangana movement started because of malice, insult, hatred, discrimination and injustice towards the people of Telangana.

The merger of Telangana with Andhra in 1956 was the seed of destruction of Telangana as ponds were destroyed and existing projects were neglected, he claimed.

Jagan is responsible if any harm is done to Naidu, says Pattabhi

    [ad_1]

Amaravathi: The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) spokesperson, Kommareddy Pattabhiram, on Friday said that the police are completely blocking the way of the party national president Nara Chandrababu Naidu’s programme ‘Idemi Kharma Mana Rashtraniki’ (What ill-fate is this for our state?) and if any harm is done to him, AP CM Jagan Mohan Reddy will be responsible.

Terming it as a bizarre incident, Pattabhiram said that the police are literally sitting on the road in front of Chandrababu’s convoy when the TDP supremo was on his way for a roadshow in Anaparthy Asembly segment in East Godavari district.

“It is as if the police are staging a dharna on the road and we are seriously concerned about the security of our leader,” Pattabhiram said in a video message.

The former minister and senior TDP leader, Alapati Rajendra Prasad, in a press note released here said that Jagan is caught in a fear psychosis as Chandrababu’s road shows are getting tremendous response.
