Rahul Gandhi has crossed all bounds of democracy: Nadda

    [ad_1]

New Delhi: BJP president J P Nadda on Sunday accused Rahul Gandhi of overstepping all bounds of democracy and said he should be sent packing “lock, stock and barrel” in a democratic manner.

“Those who do not believe in democracy have no place in a democracy,” Nadda said in his address after virtually inaugurating the ‘National Youth parliament’ of his party’s youth wing Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, being held in Chennai.

The Congress has become mentally bankrupt, the BJP chief said while alleging that Gandhi “instigated” foreign powers like the US and European countries to interfere in India’s internal affairs by claiming that they were “oblivious” while democracy was under threat in India.

“Rahul Gandhi has crossed all bounds of democracy,” he said.

What kind of statements he makes, Nadda asked, saying the people of India do not listen to him, but merely tolerate him.

“Rahul Gandhi not merely insulted the nation by his shameful remarks about the democratic values of India, but also invited the foreign nations to intervene in our country,” the BJP president said.

He should be sent packing in a democratic manner, Nadda said.

The Congress, however, has rejected the BJP’s charge, with Gandhi seeking permission to speak in Parliament to answer the ruling party members’ criticism of his comments in Britain.

The Congress has claimed that the BJP is “misrepresenting” his remarks to divert attention from the Adani issue.

Parliament’s budget session has been a washout since the beginning of its second part on March 13, with the BJP demanding an apology from Gandhi.

During his interactions in the UK, Rahul Gandhi alleged that the structures of Indian democracy were under attack and there was a “full-scale assault” on the country’s institutions.

Gandhi’s remarks have triggered a political slugfest, with the BJP accusing him of maligning India on foreign soil and seeking foreign interventions, and the Congress hit back at the ruling party by citing instances of Prime Minister Narendra Modi raising internal politics abroad.

In his address, Nadda also focussed on the positive changes for the youth the government has brought to the country.

“Under Modi Ji’s leadership, India has been truly transformed. This is the right time for the youth,” he said, citing the rising number of professional educational institutions like the IIMs, IITs, and medical colleges besides universities.

The BJP president claimed that India was seen by others before 2014 as one of the most “corrupt” nations which “crawled on its knees” and followed others. It was marred by policy paralysis, he said.

Under Modi’s leadership, it has become a leading country that shows the way to the world, with the prime minister pulling the country out of corruption, criminalization, and dynastic rule, and putting it on the path of inclusive development, Nadda said.

“Modi has ensured a huge financial allocation and support for the players to enable them to play with the best of their capacity in the upcoming Olympics, Asian Games, and many other sports events,” he said, adding that the National Air Sport Policy 2022 is another significant development.

It lays out the vision of making India one of the top sports nations by 2030 by providing a safe, affordable, accessible, enjoyable, and sustainable air sports ecosystem in India, he said.

Congress party is in danger, not democracy: Nadda in poll bound Karnataka

    [ad_1]

Molakalmuru: BJP national President J P Nadda on Friday said, it is Congress party and not democracy which is in danger in the country, as he attacked that party’s leader Rahul Gandhi over his recent remarks in London.

He also accused the Congress leader of challenging India’s sovereignty, and urged the public to make such people sit at home.
“The way in which Congress is moving towards mental bankruptcy is reprehensible and painful. The kind of activities that the Congress party is involved in these days and what their leader Rahul Gandhi is doing is condemnable,” Nadda said.

Addressing a public meeting here, he said, Congress leaders are involved in corruption, commission, criminalisation, and divide and rule is their policy.

“Now they have crossed all limits….Rahul Gandhi goes to England and raises questions on India’s sovereignty. He says democracy has ended here. During the recent Assembly polls- in Nagaland Congress got zero, five seats in Meghalaya and three in Tripura. It is not democracy that is in danger, your party (Congress) is in danger,” he added.

The BJP President was addressing a public meeting here as part of the party’s ‘Vijaya Sankalpa Yatre’, ahead of Assembly polls by May. He was referring to Rahul Gandhi’s remarks made in London — that structures of Indian democracy are under “brutal attack”.

Further hitting out at Rahul Gandhi for allegedly seeking America and Europe’s intervention into the issue of democracy in India, he said, “Should we allow such leaders to remain (in politics)? They should be made to sit at home.”

Rahul Gandhi is challenging India’s sovereignty, he said, as he targeted the Congress for trying to preach about democracy. Nadda pointed out that it was the Congress government at the Centre that imposed emergency on the country under Indira Gandhi’s leadership.

Karnataka BJP President Nalin Kumar Kateel, state Ministers R Ashoka, B Sriramulu among others were present at the public meeting.

Earlier in the day, the BJP President held roadshows at Challakere and Molakalmuru, as part of the Yatre.

Noting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has played a key role in changing the political culture in the country, Nadda said the politics propagated by Congress was of corruption, commission, criminalisation, dynastic rule, but the PM with a responsible leadership has begun the politics of report card in the country.

A strong and responsible government that believes in serving the people, has been established by PM Modi, he said, highlighting the concept of “New India”, and listed out India’s growth as the fifth largest economy, and in sectors like automobile, digital payments, mobile phone manufacturing, among others.

Affirming that Karnataka’s picture has changed, thanks to the push given by the “double engine government” (BJP govts both in centre and state) in various sectors and in infrastructure, the BJP President said, the state stands number one in FDI inflow, innovation, startups among other areas.

  • Rahul has become permanent part of ‘toolkit’ working against India: Nadda

Rahul has become permanent part of ‘toolkit’ working against India: Nadda

    [ad_1]

New Delhi: BJP president JP Nadda led his party’s attack on Rahul Gandhi on Friday over the Congress leader’s recent comments made in the UK on the state of Indian democracy, charging him with becoming a “permanent part of the toolkit” working against India that seeks a weak government here so as to exploit it for its benefits.

In a statement, Nadda accused Gandhi of speaking the language of “anti-India” George Soros, a billionaire financier, and alleged that the Congress and the “so-called Left liberals” have become a part of the “deep state” conspiracy involving foreign forces against the country. “Anti-national” Congress leaders have been speaking the language of Pakistan, he added.

Gandhi will have to apologise to the people of India for his “sin” of seeking the “interference” of foreign powers in the country’s internal affairs, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president said.

He accused the former Congress chief of joining hands with foreign conspirators against India to encircle the country economically and strategically. Never before in independent India any leader has done what Gandhi has done on foreign soil, he said.

“This is a most serious matter,” Nadda said, adding that what the Congress leader has done has hurt every patriotic MP as well as the people of the country.

Those working against India want a weak government working under the compulsions of an alliance for their benefits, he said.

The BJP president said anti-India forces have always had problems with a strong India, its robust democracy and decisive government. By criticising the state of democracy in India and seeking the intervention of the United States and Europe on foreign soil, Gandhi has attacked the country’s sovereignty, he added.

“Rejected repeatedly by people, Rahul Gandhi has become a permanent part of the ‘toolkit’ working against India,” Nadda said.

He accused the former Congress chief of insulting India, its Parliament, its democratically-elected government and people in Britain, a country that ruled over India for long. What Gandhi has done amounts to strengthening those working against India, the BJP president said.

The Congress has dismissed the BJP’s accusations and asserted that Gandhi will not apologise. He has sought permission to speak in Parliament to respond to the criticism levelled against him by the ruling party members in both houses. Parliamentary proceedings have so far been a washout over the row.

Nadda said India has become the fifth-largest economy and is hosting the G20 summit under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, while Gandhi has chosen to “insult” the country on foreign soil.

“There can be nothing more shameful than seeking the US’ and Europe’s interference in India and claiming that democracy no longer exists in the country,” he said.

Noting that Britain ruled over India before it gained independence, the BJP president said it was unfortunate that Gandhi sought foreign interference from that country.

Nadda kickstarts BJP’s ‘Vijay Sankalp Yatre’ in poll-bound Karnataka

    [ad_1]

Chamarajanagara: BJP national president J P Nadda on Wednesday kickstarted the first part of ‘Vijay Sankapla Yatre’ here reaching out to tribal communities, as he expressed confidence about the party coming back to power in Karnataka.

The yatre from four different directions across the poll-bound State, in specially designed vehicles or “Rathas”, will be launched by the party’s Central leaders in the next couple of days.

Nadda, who visited the Male Mahadeshwara Hills, kick-started the yatre, after offering prayers at the Male Mahadeshwara temple here.

He was accompanied by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, BJP veteran B S Yediyurappa, and party’s state president Nalin Kumar Kateel among other leaders.

Later addressing people from the Soliga tribal community, Nadda said, “With the Vijaya Sankalpa Yatre beginning from an auspicious place and with the grace of god, I’m confident about BJP getting the blessings of the people in the upcoming Assembly polls.”

He said, the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is marching ahead with strength and he has changed the political dimension of the country from “casteism, vote bank and dynasty politics”, to taking everyone together with a moto ‘sabka-saath-sabka-vikas-sabka-vishwas-sabka-prayas’ (Together, for everyone’s growth, with everyone’s trust).

Highlighting that the country is today the fifth largest economy overtaking the British, Nadda spoke about the nation’s progress in pharma, mobile and automobile, among other sectors.

The BJP government under Modi has worked for the development of all sections of the society especially the poor and downtrodden, he said, adding that today several prominent positions in the country are occupied by personalities from the SC/ST community, and President of India Droupadi Murmu belongs to the tribal community.

There has been a 190 per cent increase in the tribal budget under the BJP government at the Centre, the party president said, as he spoke about setting up Ekalavya Vidyalaya in tribal areas, and other schemes and programmes for the betterment of the tribal community, including opening of the Tribal Research Centres.

“I want to assure that under Modi, with Yediyurappa’s blessings and Bommai’s efforts we will bring changes in the lives and livelihood of the people here,” he said.

While Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is scheduled to flag off second yatre on March 2 from Nandagad in Belagavi district, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is slated to launch the third and fourth yatres that will start from Basavakalyana in Bidar district and Avathy in Devanahalli near Bengaluru, on March 3, in the morning and afternoon, respectively.

According to party leaders, more than 50 state and national leaders will take part in this campaign, which will cover all 31 districts and 224 constituencies of the State, where elections are due by May.

The tours will cover 8,000 km, along which the party has planned over 80 rallies, 74 public meetings and about 150 road shows, they said, adding that it is expected to “touch” about four crore people.

The 20 days yatre will culminate with a mega rally in the district headquarters town of Davangere on March 25 which will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The yatre that will begin from four different places will consist of 10-12 leaders in each of them.

TMC is Terror, Mafia, Corruption’, people will soon bid adieu: Nadda

    [ad_1]

Purbasthali: Dubbing the TMC as a party that stands for Terror, Mafia and Corruption’, BJP national president J P Nadda on Sunday accused it of committing “massive” irregularities in the implementation of the PM Awas Yojana (PMAY) in West Bengal.

Claiming that the state has been brought to a “standstill” under the Trinamool Congress rule, Nadda said the BJP would end the “jungle raj of Mamata Banerjee”.

“As PMAY is being audited in West Bengal, massive irregularities have come up. It has shown that people who have two-three storey buildings received houses under the scheme. This is the situation in West Bengal,” he said.

Nadda also said that West Bengal, despite having a woman chief minister, “tops” the chart in terms of crime against women.

“The TMC stands for Terror, Mafia and Corruption. There is graft everywhere in West Bengal. Whether it is SSC recruitment or any other type of hiring, jobs are up for sale,” the BJP chief added.

  • Naxal incidents have increased in Chhattisgarh under Congress rule, says Nadda

Naxal incidents have increased in Chhattisgarh under Congress rule, says Nadda

    [ad_1]

Jagdalpur: Bharatiya Janata Party president J P Nadda on Saturday condemned the recent killings of BJP leaders in Chhattisgarh and claimed that Naxal incidents have increased in the state since the Bhupesh Baghel-led Congress government came to power.

He was speaking at an event here, a day after suspected Naxalites shot dead BJP leader and village head Sagar Sahu in Narayanpur district. On February 6, the party’s Awapalli Mandal chief Neelkanth Kakem was killed by Naxalites.

“Is it not a fact that Naxalite attacks have increased since Bhupesh Baghel’s government came to power? It exposes the administration here. When Raman Singh (BJP) was in power, there was peace here and the problem of law and order did not exist,” said Nadda.

Baghel took charge as the CM in December 2018. Assembly elections in Chhattisgarh are expected to be held by the end of this year.

“I want to tell the families of the fallen brave soldiers of BJP that your sons are not alone in this fight, the entire 18 crore people of the party are with you,” said the national president of the saffron party.

He called the Congress a synonym for “failure”. It is the policy of the Congress to stall, block and divert work, he said. “On the contrary, we are made for development. They (Congress) block development and their aim is to divide and rule,” he alleged.

About the tribal-dominated Bastar, Nadda said, “I remember late Rajiv Gandhi (of Congress) and his family used to come here (Bastar) for picnics. When it was very hot there, he used to come here to enjoy the coolness of the forest. When Raman Singh’s government came to power, development took place in Bastar.”

As per the National Crime Records Bureau, Nadda said, Chhattisgarh “ranks seventh in terms of rape, fifth in dacoity and second in suicides”. The state is in the “second spot” related to narcotics and third in terms of murder cases, he said.

Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has seen significant development and its reputation has grown globally, said Nadda. “Around 1,200 students from Chhattisgarh were stranded in Ukraine. Modi talked to Putin and Zelenskyy, got the war stopped and 32,000 children of the country safely returned to India. This is the picture of a changing India,” Nadda said.

Exhorting people to vote for the BJP in the state, Nadda said his party has the power and strength to fight the Naxalites.

The 60-member Tripura Assembly will go to the polls on February 16, while the counting of votes will be taken up on March 2.

  • Cong, CPI-M contesting Tripura polls together to save their existence: Nadda

Cong, CPI-M contesting Tripura polls together to save their existence: Nadda

    [ad_1]

Agartala: BJP national president J.P. Nadda on Friday claimed that the Congress and the CPI-M during their governance destroyed Tripura on all fronts while the BJP during the five-year rule created a ‘new Tripura’, establishing peace and boosting development.

Addressing an election rally in Tripura’s Kumarghat, Nadda criticised the Congress-CPI-M seat adjustments, saying the two parties have come together not for the state’s welfare and development but to save their existence.

In a seat sharing deal, the four-party Left Front has fielded candidates in 47 seats and allotted 13 seats to their new ally Congress, even as they have been arch political rivals in Tripura since 1952. “Congress-CPI-M ‘Mahagathbandhan’ (big alliance) aimed to bring back commission raj, insurgency, corruption, lawlessness and other misdeeds,” the BJP leader said.

Nadda said that to establish peace in Tripura, the BJP government in the state and the Centre have signed a peace accord with the militant outfit National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT), and then its 88 cadres surrendered to the government.

For the permanent settlement of the displaced Reang tribals, the Central government has also signed a four-partite agreement and over 35,000 Reang tribals are being provided with a permanent settlement in Tripura, investing Rs 600 crore, he pointed out.

Highlighting the BJP government’s efforts for the all-round development of the tribals across the country, Nadda said that for the first time a “tribal sister (Droupadi Murmu) is now a country’s President”.

“There are eight central ministers who are tribals, several governors and Chief Ministers are tribals. For tribal communities, the budget has been increased by four times,” Nadda said.

The BJP president said that Tripura witnessed insurgency, violence and road blockades before the 2018 Assembly elections, but the ‘double engine’ government ensured peace and development.

He said that investing Rs 980 crore for the Agartala-Akhaura (Bangladesh) railway project was being implemented to boost the state’s trade and business and would facilitate the people of the state to go to other parts of the country very easily.

The BJP leader said that during the Congress and the CPI-M regime, food from ration shops were looted, ‘commission raj’ prevailed, and liquidation was everywhere.

Stressing on women empowerment, Nadda said that the BJP has nominated 12 women candidates in Tripura polls.

“The people of Tripura have already decided to return to the BJP government for the second time in the February 16 elections to ensure that the double engine government continues to further speed up the development,” he said.

Nadda’s rally on Friday was for the second time in the BJP-ruled Tripura in less than one month.

The BJP’s national president on January 12 addressed a rally in Agartala, after the eight-day long state-wide ‘Rath Yatra’, which was flagged off by the Union Home Minister Amit Shah on January 5.

BJP only national party in India, says Nadda

    [ad_1]

Jaipur: BJP President J.P. Nadda on Monday said that his party is the only national party left in India as all others, including the Congress and several regional outfits, have become “family parties”.

Addressing the BJP Rajasthan State Working Committee meeting here, he attacked the Congress over its Bharat Jodo Yatra, alleging that those who raised slogans against India are walking in it.

Nadda also said that in 2023, the BJP will form a government in Rajasthan with a three-fourth majority under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Congratulating the state leadership and their entire team for the successful organisation of Jan Aakrosh Yatra and Jan Aakrosh meetings, he said: “We have to maintain this mission and continuity of such campaigns.”

Nadda claimed that the condition of Rajasthan is the worst under the Ashok Gehlot-led Congress government under which the graph of crime against women, and Dalits and cyber crime is rising rapidly, while the continuous increase in the prices of electricity, petrol and diesel left the common man of the state troubled.

He said that the BJP was “not just a political organisation but also a party working for social concerns with human aspect and the whole of India and the whole world saw the social face of the party during the Corona period as it served food, ration, water etc. to the needy across the country”.

“Along with politics, the social side of the BJP also came in front of the whole world through service. Our party is a party with ideas, we work with politics with mission, politics with ideology, service to the country, party and ideology are paramount for us.

“There is democracy in our party and we work for the strength of the cadre in a democratic way, BJP is the only national party, all other parties have become family parties, Congress is completely finished, and regional parties have also become family parties,” he claimed.

Attacking the Congress over its Bharat Jodo Yatra, Nadda alleged: “Congress doesn’t know whom they are uniting, or breaking, in the entire journey of Rahul Gandhi. The same people who shouted slogans against India and made conspiracies against India are walking besides him.”

He said that the Narendra Modi government gave 22 medical colleges to Rajasthan, while the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway will spur development of all its districts, and through the Har Ghar Nal and Har Ghar Jal Abhiyan, it has ensured that pure drinking water is delivered to crores of households in the country, including Rajasthan.

BJP national General Secretary and state incharge Arun Singh, state chief Satish Poonia, national Vice President Vasundhara Raje, national Secretary and state co-in charge Vijaya Rahatkar, state General Secretary, Organisation, Chandrashekhar, and other senior leaders were present.
