    [ad_1]

Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], May 8 (ANI): After watching the movie ‘The Kerala Story’, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president JP Nadda said that there is a new type of terrorism which is without ammunition, adding that the film exposes “poisonous terrorism”.

Nadda on Sunday, attend a special screening of the movie in the Garuda Mall, Bengaluru where he is also campaigning for the party for the upcoming Assembly polls.

While talking to reporters, Nadda said, “There’s a new type of terrorism which is without ammunition, ‘Kerala Story’ exposes that poisonous terrorism. This kind of terrorism isn’t related to any state or religion…”

Earlier, while addressing a rally in poll-bound Karnataka, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that ‘The Kerala Story’ movie is based on a terror conspiracy.

The Prime Minister said that the film ‘The Kerala Story’ shows the ugly truth of terrorism and exposes terrorists’ design. He added that the film is based on a terror conspiracy.

“‘The Kerala Story’ film is based on a terror conspiracy. It shows the ugly truth of terrorism and exposes terrorists’ design”, the PM said.

He also hit out at the Congress party and said that Congress has shielded terrorism for the vote bank.

“Congress is opposing the film made on terrorism and standing with terror tendencies. Congress has shielded terrorism for the vote bank”, PM Modi said.

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan earlier said in a statement that the movie was deliberately made with the aim of creating communal polarisation and spreading hate propaganda against Kerala.

Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that the newly released movie has been made tax-free in the state stating that the ‘The Kerala Story’ “exposes the conspiracy of love Jihad, religious conversion and terrorism.”

Helmed by Sudipto Sen and produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah, the film has triggered a massive political row with various leaders reacting to the upcoming movie.

‘The Kerala Story’ stars Adah Sharma, Yogita Bihani, Siddhi Idnani and Sonia Balani in the lead roles. The trailer of Sen’s film ‘The Kerala Story’ came under fire as it claimed that 32,000 girls from the state went missing and later joined the terrorist group, ISIS.

Faced with backlash the makers then withdrew the figure and called the movie the story of three women from Kerala, in its trailer description.

  • Karnataka assembly polls: JP Nadda to release BJP election manifesto today

Karnataka assembly polls: JP Nadda to release BJP election manifesto today

    [ad_1]

Bengaluru: Ahead of the Karnataka elections slated to be held on May 10, the Bharatiya Janta Party is expected to release its election manifesto today, as per sources.

The manifesto will be released by party president JP Nadda in the presence of Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and party veteran BS Yediyurappa.

Sources said the party manifesto may focus on welfare measures for the youth, infrastructure development and women empowerment.

    MS Education Academy

Further, to take the first-time voters on board, a special announcement can be made for the youth and girl students who have passed class 12.

In the 2018 election manifesto, BJP touched every section of society. The party had also included cow protection measures in its manifesto.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing an election rally in Kolar on Sunday, came down heavily on Congress for drawing parallels between him and a snake.

PM Modi said that the people of Karnataka will give the party a “befitting answer” in the upcoming Assembly elections.

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, in an election rally in Karnataka’s Kalaburagi on Thursday, said, “PM Modi is like a ‘poisonous snake’, you might think it’s poison or not. If you lick it, you are dead.”

Lashing out at Congress over the remark, PM Modi said, “Today when I am fighting against corruption, Congress is disturbed the most. Congress is now threatening. They say ‘Modi teri kabra khudegi’. Congress’ topic in Karnataka elections is snake’s poison. They are comparing me with a snake and seeking votes from people. For me, the people of the country are a form of Lord Shiva. I accept being the snake on the neck of the god-like public. The people of Karnataka will give them a befitting answer on May 10.”

PM Modi launched a scathing attack on Congress terming the party as an “outdated engine”.

“Congress is an ‘outdated engine’. Development halted due to them. Congress has a bundle of fake guarantees. They don’t fulfil any promise made to the public. ‘Unfulfilled guarantees’ are their record. They betrayed the public, but BJP fulfilled all the guarantees by doing several development works,” PM Modi said.

Notably, Congress has promised a number of guarantees to the people of Karnataka ahead of the state Assembly polls slated on May 10, including 200 units of free electricity.

The Prime Minister has hit the ground to campaign for the BJP in the last leg of the campaigning, in which he is conducting a number of poll rallies and roadshows to turn the tide in favour of the party, in what is expected to be a tripartite contest among BJP, Congress and JDS.

Assembly elections will be held in Karnataka on May 10 and the counting of votes will take place on May 13.

    [ad_1]

Shimla: Ahead of the Shimla Municipal Corporation polls, Himachal Pradesh BJP chief Suresh Kashyap has handed over his resignation to the party’s national president BJP Nadda, sources said on Friday.

According to BJP office bearers, Kashyap cited “personal reasons” for resigning from his post.

Kashyap, who was appointed as the chief of the BJP’s Himachal Pradesh unit on July 22, 2020, following the resignation of Rajeev Bindal, had a lacklustre tenure. The party suffered defeat in the bypolls to the Mandi Lok Sabha seat and in Arki, Fatehpur and Jubbal-Kotkhai Assembly constituencies in November 2021. It also lost the Assembly polls held in December 2022.

A two-time MLA from Pachhad, Kashyap was also elected to the Lok Sabha in 2019.

The BJP is likely to reorganise its organisational structure in the state soon.

Amaravati: Actor-politician Pawan Kalyan on Tuesday met BJP national President J. P. Nadda in New Delhi but said more talks were required to decide on the electoral alliance for the next year’s elections in Andhra Pradesh.

On the second day of his visit to the national capital, the Jana Sena Party (JSP) leader met Nadda and discussed the latest political situation in Andhra Pradesh. JSP Political Affairs Committee Chairman Nadendla Manohar was also present.

After the meeting, Pawan Kalyan told media persons that from the beginning, they were looking for stability with regard to Andhra Pradesh. He said it would be difficult to say at this stage to what extent they have clarity with the BJP. He, however, said they were moving ahead with the goal of coming to power.

“Our agenda is a YSRCP-free Andhra Pradesh. BJP’s agenda is also the same. We discussed the issue of making Andhra Pradesh YSRCP-free from all angles,” he said.

Pawan Kalyan hoped that the talks he held with the BJP leaders during the last two days would yield good results in future.

The JSP leader said there would be a plan to free people of Andhra Pradesh from the rule of the YSRCP. He said their party’s preference is to see that anti-YSRCP votes are not divided.

Pawan Kalyan said JSP was trying to strengthen itself and BJP should take organisational decisions to strengthen itself. He said he discussed with Nadda the anti-constitutional rule, corruption, and clashes in Andhra Pradesh.

The JSP leader is likely to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah and some other leaders on Wednesday.

Corruption has become identity of Telangana government: Nadda

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: BJP national President J.P. Nadda on Friday termed Telangana’s BRS government as Bhrashtachar Rishwat Sarkar and said that it has no right to remain in power.

“This has become the identity of Telangana government. This BRS party has become Bhrashtachar Rishwat Sarkar,” he said while virtually inaugurating new BJP offices in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

He recalled that when Telangana was formed in 2014, it was a surplus state but today the state finds itself in a debt of Rs 3.29 lakh crore.

Nadda ridiculed the tall claims made when Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) became Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), saying it has changed its name but it has not changed its ways.

The BJP chief referred to the summons of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to CM KCR’s daughter Kavitha in Delhi liquor scam case. “This is an unfortunate situation. Telangana’s image has become of a corrupt state,” he said

Stating that mere change of name does not work, Nadda said people of Telangana knew that the TRS and the BRS are same. “People of Telangana are giving a message to you. You need VRS (voluntary retirement scheme),” he said.

He alleged that there are scams in all sectors in Telangana. He reiterated that the Kaleshwaram irrigation scheme had become an ATM for the government, alleging that the project cost was inflated from Rs 40,000 crore to 1.40 lakh crore.

Nadda also said that the Modi government was doing its best to help Andhra Pradesh but the state government failed to implement the schemes of the Central government. “In the days to come we have to give a good and clean government to the people of Andhra Pradesh to lead the state,” he said and appealed to people to support BJP.

The BJP chief said that the Congress party has been wiped out from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

He launched a scathing attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for refusing to apologise for using insulting words about OBCs, and claimed that the OBCs will never forgive Gandhi and the Congress.

“This party has lost all shame. Even when it has shrunk to this level, its leaders are still egoistic and very much arrogant. They insult the nation, make shameful remarks about the OBC community. This is all unfortunate,” he said.

Nadda will arrive at the Hyderabad airport on Friday afternoon and will head to Sangareddy, about 60 kms from Hyderabad, where he will inaugurate new party offices.

From Sangareddy, he will virtually inaugurate other district unit offices at Bhupalpally, Warangal, Jangaon, and Mahbubabad in Telangana and Anantapur and Chittoor in neighboring Andhra Pradesh, stated an official release by the party on Thursday.

Later, on Friday, he will hold a meeting with the BJP’s state office-bearers, district presidents and district in-charges at Shamshabad, on the outskirts of Hyderabad, the release added.

Further, according to sources, Nadda will also chair a meeting on April 4, whicn will feature, among others, the BJP’s national general secretary BL Santosh. At the meeting, a broad strategy for the upcoming Karnataka Assembly elections will be chalked out, sources added.

Telangana will go to polls this year and the BJP has set sights on wresting the reins of the state from the K Chandrashekhar Rao-led BRs government.

In the last Assembly polls in 2018, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) secured a resounding mandate, bagging 88 out of 119 seats, while the Congress had to settle for just 19.

The BJP could win just a lone seat.

  • ‘Rahul compared OBCs to thieves..’ says Nadda; Kharge hits back

‘Rahul compared OBCs to thieves..’ says Nadda; Kharge hits back

    [ad_1]

New Delhi: Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Friday refuted BJP chief J P Nadda’s allegation that Rahul Gandhi compared OBC communities to thieves and accused the ruling party of indulging in “caste politics”.

Amid a political fight between the BJP and Congress following Gandhi’s conviction in a defamation case over the “Modi surname” remarks, Nadda alleged that “lies, personal slander and negative politics is integral” to his politics.

“By comparing OBC communities to thieves, Rahul Gandhi has shown a pathetic and casteist mindset. However, his latest tirade is not surprising. For the last many years, he has always reduced levels of political discourse,” Nadda said.

Hitting back, Kharge, in a tweet in Hindi, said, “Modi government cannot escape from JPC! Nirav Modi, Lalit Modi, and Mehul Choksi fled with the money of PNB and the public. OBCs did not do so, then how were they insulted?”

“SBI/LIC suffered losses due to your ‘best friend’!” he said slamming the government.

“‘Ek toh chori mein sahyog phir jatigat rajneeti ka prayog’ (First providing help in stealing then applying caste politics),” Kharge said and termed it “shameful”.

Gandhi was on Thursday sentenced to two years in jail by a Surat court in a 2019 criminal defamation case over his “why all thieves have Modi surname” remarks.

The court of Chief Judicial Magistrate H H Varma, which held 52-year-old Gandhi guilty under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 499 and 500, also granted him bail and suspended the sentence for 30 days to allow him to appeal in a higher court.

Gandhi can escape immediate disqualification as a member of parliament if the appellate court suspends the conviction as well as the two-year jail term.

  • My remote control is with someone else but what about Nadda: Kharge’s counter to Modi

My remote control is with someone else but what about Nadda: Kharge’s counter to Modi

    [ad_1]

Belagavi: Hitting back at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “remote control” jibe at him and the Congress, AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge on Monday asked as to where was BJP chief J P Nadda’s remote control.

Accusing the Modi-led BJP government of “troubling” party leader Rahul Gandhi for “speaking the truth”, the Congress President said he doesn’t fear such things and was ready for everything.

“Modi came to Belagavi and said – Kharge has become President (Congress), but remote control is with someone else. Okay, my remote control is with someone else, but where is Nadda’s (BJP national President J P Nadda) remote control?” Kharge asked.

Addressing the ‘Yuva Kranti Samavesha’, a youth convention, organised by the party’s state unit here, he said: “Nadda speaks under control of whose remote? There are lots of weak spots about you (BJP), for us (Congress) to speak about. You lack courage…”

Claiming that Kharge, who hails from the state, was insulted and disrespected by the Congress in favour of a “family”, despite his seniority and age, PM Modi while addressing a public meet here on February 27 had said, “This shows Kharge is Congress President just for the sake of it, and looking at the way he is treated, everyone can see and understand, as to whose hands the remote control is in.”

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, General Secretaries K C Venugopal and Randeep Singh Surjewala, state unit chief D K Shivakumar, Legislature Party leader and Leader of Opposition Siddaramaiah among several leaders were part of the mega rally organised at CPED ground here.

Noting that Rahul Gandhi questioned the government in the Lok Sabha on the Adani-Hindenburg issue, the Congress chief alleged that (parts of) his speech was removed from records in Parliament. “Similarly, mine (Kharge’s) was removed from records in Rajya Sabha.”

“This is democracy… Is it wrong to say that democracy was not functioning properly in this country? To say there is still casteism in this country? You (BJP government) don’t allow us to speak the truth, while you keep lying,” he asserted.

“Your (BJP government’s) ED, CBI or CVC cannot overpower us, we don’t fear them. Rahul Gandhi has never feared and will never fear. He speaks the truth, and such a person is being troubled. Let them do it, will they jail him? We are ready for everything,” he added.

Pointing out that during the course of the nationwide Bharat Jodo Yatra from Kanyakumari to Kashmir, Gandhi met farmers, youth, women, and every strata of the society, Kharge said: “Forty-six days after the speech made by Rahul Gandhi in Jammu and Kashmir about the problems shared by the people, Delhi Police came to his door seeking for proof regarding his statement on alleged rape or sexual harassment on a women, quoting her.”

Despite the Karnataka contractors’ association giving proof for their 40 per cent commission charge in the state, no action is being taken, Kharge claimed. “Modi and Shah (Amit Shah) should take action here and make an inquiry as the proof is already given here, then come to Rahul Gandhi.”

This was Kharge’s first visit to Belagavi after taking over as the Congress President.

He pointed out that Belagavi was a “sacred land” for Congress, as Mahatma Gandhi was elected as the party’s President in the district in 1924, and Jawaharlal Nehru was appointed as the General Secretary.

Kharge, seeking the blessings of the people of the state for the upcoming assembly polls, asked the party leaders and workers to fight the polls with unity.

He also accused the BJP government in Karnataka of rampant corruption, and praised the KPCC’s poll ‘guarantees’ including the unemployment allowance for the youth, which was announced today as the fourth ‘guarantee’, in the event of the party coming to power.

The party has already announced three poll ‘guarantees’ 200 units of free power to all households (Gruha Jyoti), Rs 2,000 monthly assistance to the woman head of every family (Gruha Lakshmi), and 10 kg of rice free to every member of a BPL household (Anna Bhagya).
