BJP leaders to beat themselves as a part of Muslim outreach programme

BJP to kickstart Muslim outreach programme across India next month. As a part of the programme, the Bhartiya Janta Party has identified key areas of improvement of sentiments about BJP among Muslims. Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged the party to make an outreach to “deprived and downtrodden” sections in all communities. PM Modi also asked the party leader to perform activities that makes the community feel better.
Reportedly, in order to appease the minority community, the BJP leaders are going to beat themselves up. Speaking to The Fauxy, a BJP leader said “The community is very much against the party and they wish harm on the party leaders, hence, if we harm ourselves, the community people will be happy to see that“.

Another BJP leader said “If we beat ourselves they will feel that we are one of us as it is one of their essential religious practices“.

Sources suggest that the Modi led government is deliberately delaying the CAA and NRC process to appease the Muslim community ahead of 2024 General Elections.

Medak custodial death: Muslim leaders demand inquiry by HC

Muslim delegations submitted memoranda demanding a free and fair inquiry by a sitting High Court judge into the Medak Police torture victim Mohammed Khadeer Khan’s death.
The memorandums were presented to the Bhuvanagiri and Rangareddy district collectors to be forwarded to Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR).
“A very sad part of this incident is that when the matter came out in public Smt Rohini Priyadarshi IPS Superintendent of Police without any investigation of inquiry denied police torture and supported her subordinates and tried to save them,” said the memo calling for the suspension of the superintendent during the inquiry.
Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) party vice president Mohammed Hamed, BRS party general secretary Shaker Baig, BRS party spokesman Syed Abdul Rawoif from Jalpally Municipality met the district collector of Rangareddy and submitted a memorandum demanding an inquiry into the death of Mohammed Khadeer Khan Medak Police and asked for ex-gratia to be given to his family.
Yadadri Bhuvanagiri District Muslim Joint Action Committee (JAC) submitted a memorandum to the Bhuvanagiri district collector, demanding a free & fair inquiry by a sitting High Court judge into the Medak police torture incident.
The Muslim leaders demanded that a compensation of Rs 25 lakhs, a double bedroom flat, and a government job should be given to the family of Khadeer Khan.
The memo also stated that the sub-inspector and constables responsible for the death of Khadeer Khan should be dismissed and arrested for murder under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Daily wage laborer, Mohammad Khadeer, 35, succumbed to the injuries he had sustained due to torture by police.

In a statement, while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Medak, he alleged that he was kept in custody for five days and beaten up by policemen though he kept telling them that he was innocent.
“The cops said the person involved looks like me,” he said. Khadeer Khan was taken from his sister’s house in Medak to the police station. He was picked up under the suspicion of being involved in a theft case.
The police let him off on February 2. Due to the alleged torture, Khadeer could not stand on his feet, and his kidneys were also damaged. His wife Siddeshwari alleged that police used third-degree methods on him. On February 9, he was admitted to a hospital in Medak.
As Khadeer’s condition kept deteriorating, he was referred to Gandhi Hospital in Hyderabad for better treatment. However, he succumbed to his injuries on February 17 and is survived by his wife and two children.
Khadeer’s death triggered public outrage. Local Muslim community leaders urged Bharat Rastra Samithi (BRS) MLA M. Padma Devender Reddy to take action against the policemen involved.
Subsequently, the MLA spoke with the Medak Superintendent of Police (SP) Rohini Priyadarshini, demanding an investigation into the incident.
Circle inspector Madhu, sub-inspector Rajasekhar and constables Prashanth and Pavan Kumar of Medak town have been suspended, said Medak Superintendent of Police Rohini Priyadarshini on Sunday.
AIMIM MLA from Hyderabad, Kausar Mohiuddin visited Medak and attended the funeral on Saturday morning. He slammed the police for the restrictions imposed on the funeral and questioned if Khadeer was a “naxalite or terrorist”.
Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president A Revanth Reddy on Sunday demanded the government provide ex gratia of fifty lakh rupees to the kin of the deceased.
Congress leader Mohammed Ali Shabbir on Sunday demanded that the Telangana government set up a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe into the death of Khadeer Khan.

‘Trap 10 Muslim girls for 1 Hindu girl’, says Sri Ram Sene chief

On Monday, right-wing organisation Shri Ram Sene’s chief Pramod Muthalik declared to provide security and employment to young Hindu men who trap Muslim women and ruin their lives. This, according to Muthalik, is a counter-attack to ‘love jihad’.
At an event in Karnataka’s Bagalkote district, he claimed many Hindu women were ‘falling prey’ to ‘love jihad’.
“We are aware of the situation. I want to invite the youth here. If we lose one Hindu girl, we should trap 10 Muslim girls. If you do so, Shri Ram Sene will take responsibility for you and provide every kind of security and employment,” Muthalik said among rousing cheers.
Muthalik had recently announced he would contest the upcoming state Assembly elections from the Karkala segment in the Udupi district.
According to him, he does not know how to play politics, and the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government endorses ‘fake Hindutva’.
“If I had supported BJP’s fake Hindutva, I would have achieved many things by now,” he said.
He attacked the current Karkala MLA and state minister for Kannada and culture V Sunil Kumar for corruption. “The present MLA does not care for the people of Karkala. All he has done is indulge in mass corruption activities. One can see that by the amount of wealth, he has accumulated so far,” Muthalik alleged.

Raj Muslim men death: Community refuses last rites, demands compensation

Jaipur: In wake of the discovery of the charred bodies of two local men in Haryana’s Rewari district on Friday, a community panchayat was held in Rajasthan’s Bharatpur where families of the deceased sought compensation of Rs 51 lakh and a government job each and refused to perform last rites till their demands were met.
Many people from surrounding villages of Bharatpur reached Ghatmika village for the meeting, where Rajasthan Minister Zahida Khan was also present.
Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, condemning the killing of Junaid, 35, and Nasir, 28, said that one accused has been detained in the case and search is on for remaining accused.
“The killing of two residents of Bharatpur’s Ghatmika, in Haryana is condemnable. Rajasthan and Haryana Police are taking action in coordination. One accused has been detained and search is on for the remaining accused. Rajasthan Police has been directed to take strict action,” he said.
Earlier, the family and society agreed on Rs 20 lakh compensation, but then refused to perform the last rites as soon as the minister returned. The families said that the amount of Rs 20 lakh is too less.
Before this, community members held a meeting for three hours.
Meanwhile, the minister also claimed that police had arrested one of the accused, while Gopalgarh police in Bharatpur identified the arrested accused as Rinku Saini.
Ghatmika village is near Haryana border and Junaid’s cousin Ismail had registered a case of kidnapping and assault of both at Gopalgarh police station in Bharatpur on Wednesday. Now, charges of murder have been added.

Bodies of both Junaid and Nasir reached Ghatmika village on Thursday night, after which there was pandemonium.
Tension stkill prevails in the village and the police of three police stations have been alerted.
The family alleged that their SUV was stopped on Wednesday morning, on the suspicion of cow-smuggling, after hitting the vehicle and the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) team of Ferozepur-Jhirka was present there. Both youths were first severely beaten, and handed over to Bajrang Dal team in a half-dead condition and taken to the police station. But the police refused to take them into custody after seeing their condition.
Both were then burnt alive along with the Bolero and the bodies of the duo were found on Wednesday night near Loharu village of Bhiwani.
At the same time, a claim is also being made that Junaid and Nasir were thrashed and kidnapped along with the SUV by some Bajrang Dal members from Piruka village in Bharatpur on Wednesday morning, before being burnt alive in Haryana. Police have however termed this allegation false.

Two Muslim men allegedly burned to death by Bajrang Dal in Haryana

Members of the Bajrang Dal allegedly kidnapped, lynched and murdered two Muslim men Junaid and Nasir at Bhiwani in Haryana on suspicion of their involvement in cow slaughter.
The two men were supposedly taken from their native village of Gopalgarh, Rajasthan on Tuesday.
A family member quoted by Maktoob Media stated that Monu Manesar, a Bajrang Dal leader along with other members had abducted Junaid and Nasir from the forests of Piruka and taken them to Barwas village in Bhiwani.
The FIR names Bajrang Dal leaders Monu Maneshar, Lokesh, Rinku Saini and Srikant and the charges are kidnapping and beating Junaid and Nasir.
It was further alleged that the two men were burned alive.
Bharatpur Inspector General, Gaurav Srivastava said that the charred remainds of a vehicle was found which contained the dead bodies of two cow smuggles.
Srivastava further said that the Gopalgarh SHO is investigating the matter.

Hyderabad: Muslim student group alleges Islamophobia by ABVP at UoH

Hyderabad: Muslim Students Federation (MSF), a student organisation at the University of Hyderabad (UoH) has alleged that the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) employed Islamophobic slogans against them at the University’s general body meeting on Wednesday.
Speaking to Siasat.com, Mohammed Muhsin said that after protests from the ABVP, the yearly held University General Body Meet (UGBM) which sheds light on the work done by the UoH Students Union, was cancelled. As all students present were leaving the Amphitheatre on campus, MSF claims to have been attacked by cadres of the ABVP.
“There were around 100 of us and around 300 ABVP members. They started shouting slogans like Goli maaron saalon ko (Shoot the traitors) and also asked us to ‘Go to Pakistan’,” said Muhsin, the president of MSF and a PhD Management studies student at the university.
MSF is the student organisation of the Indian Union Muslim League party.
The MSF also issued a statement titled “Stand against ABVP hooliganism in HCU” in which they stated that despite the hate, the campus security did nothing to deescalate the situation.
Despite repeated attempts, Siasat.com received no response from the ABVP.

Telangana: Tehreek Muslim Shabban seeks eight pc reservations to Muslims before polls

The Tehreek Muslim Shabban, a city-based organization, on Tuesday, urged the Telangana government to allot eight percent reservations to Muslims before the next Assembly elections in the State.
“Eight years have passed since the formation of Telangana state, but the promise of 12 percent reservations for Muslims stands unfulfilled by the government. If not 12 percent, the BRS must at least approve eight percent reservation for Muslims,” said Tehreek Muslim Shabban president Mushtaq Malik.
Mallik questioned the government for ignoring Muslims and said “the State government has increased the reservation quotas for STs from six percent to 10 percent but no such announcement was made in regard to Muslim reservation.” he stated.
The BRS government had assured 12 percent reservation in its Election Manifesto but failed to implement or fulfill the promise”, Mustaq Malik added.
He further questioned the lack of Muslim representation and appointment of Muslims in crucial government departments and the Public Service Commission. He said the government has appointed 10 Vice Chancellors in different universities, but none from the Muslim community.
Except the appointment of 66 Urdu officers, very little has been done by the government for the welfare of Muslims. Not even four per cent Muslims are part of the 2BHK apartments allotted by the government while only 1.43% Muslims have been able to secure Gazetted officers posts in the State, he added.
He urged the government to “prioritize sanctioning of financial aid of one lakh rupees per head to more than 2, 16,000 applicants which have been pending for a long time” and help the youth fight joblessness. Mustaq Malik also requested the government to expedite construction of mosques inside the Telangana Secretariat complex, appoint a Musim candidate as the Minority Commission Chairman and increase their representation in the Public Service Commission.
He said “Sudhir commission was constituted to analyze the educational and financial status of Muslims, and approved its recommendations but Muslims are still awaiting this, ” he said.

The Tehreek Muslim Shabban will visit Karimnagar, Jagtial and Siddipet and campaign to create awareness, garner support and remind the government about its reservation promises”,he added.
Vice President of organization Abdul Haq, social activist Dr. Aleem Khan Falki, Saleem Al Hindi, Saleem Ilahi and others were also present on this occasion.

MP: Khandwa tense after Hanuman’s idol installed in Muslim house

Bhopal: Forced installation of Hanuman’s idol in a Muslim’s house triggered communal tension in Madhya Pradesh’s Khandwa district but prompt police action prevented the violence from escalating.
The state is yet to get over the horror it witnessed last year in Khargone.
According to official reports, the incident was reported on Sunday in a residential colony located near Munshi Chowk area in Khandwa, around 360 km from Bhopal.
The situation was under control, police said on Monday. However, a heavy police force was deployed in the area and Section 144 imposed in nearby areas.
At least four police personnel, including a Chief Superintendent of Police and SHO, were reported injured in stone pelting.
Five alleged perpetrators of the incident have been detained so far, and identification of more was under way, police said on Monday.
“On Sunday, around 8.30 p.m, a group of people barged into the house, installed Hanuman’s idol and chanted mantras. This led to people from both communities gathering outside the house. Both sides pelted stones at each other, but police jumped into action and dispersed the crowd,” a senior police official told IANS on Monday.
As per the police, the house where the incident took place belonged to one Ganesh Jadhav, which was recently sold to a Muslim, Shaikh Asagar.

The agitated people even attacked the police who arrived to control the situation, prompting them to use tear gas to disperse the crowd.
“Three cases under different IPC Sections pertaining to house-trespassing, attempt to murder and rioting lodged and as many as five persons have been detained so far. The prime accused in the entire incident is a self-styled Hindu leader Ravi Awhad,” police officials said.
Notably, last year (on April 10, 2022), a communal clash had broken out in Khandwa’s bordering district – Khargone.

Kamareddy: Former Minister Mohammed Ali Shabbir was facilitated by the members of Wahidiya Masjid Committee of Vikas Nagar Colony in Kamareddy town after Friday prayers for his in bringing 4% Muslim reservation in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
The Wahidiya Masjid Committee members honoured him describing him as the champion of Muslim reservation. They said that the 4% Muslim quota changed the lives of lakhs of poor Muslims in both the Telugu States of Telangana and Andhra as they have been getting 4% seats in all educational institutions and also 4% quota in all government jobs since 2004-05.
Speaking on the occasion, Shabbir Ali said that the minorities, especially the beneficiaries of the 4% Muslim reservation should support the Congress party in the next elections. He said Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao, who came to power on the promise of a 12% Muslim reservation, cheated the minority community by reducing the Muslim quota to 3%. He said KCR Govt has illegally reduced the quota for Muslims in the BC-E category in jobs and education to 3% and it was being done unofficially.
Shabbir Ali said the previous Congress Government not only provided 4% reservation for Muslims but implemented many schemes for the welfare of minorities. However, he said that the TRS government was only creating hype about minorities’ welfare, but doing nothing. He alleged that the KCR Govt has made all the institutions dealing with the welfare of minorities defunct by not sanctioning funds and not filling vacant posts. He said that Muslims should realise that KCR has caused huge damage to minorities by wearing the false mask of secularism.
The Congress leader said that the TRS has always supported the BJP Govt at the Centre and indirectly strengthened the BJP in the State by damaging the Congress party in Telangana. He announced that the Congress party would soon launch a campaign to expose these facts before the people.
Shabbir Ali said that about 10-12 lakh youth belonging to minority communities were unemployed in Telangana. He said that the minority youth did not receive a single rupee of aid or loan from the BRS Govt in the last eight years. “We will start a movement with these unemployed youth to put pressure on the TRS government for subsidized loans and other facilities,” he said.
He said if the minorities want to protect their places of worship, Waqf properties and Urdu language and get a share in the welfare programmes like housing for weaker sections, education, health, etc., then they should ensure the return of Congress Govt in Telangana in the next elections. He said that the BRS was not a secular party and it has cheated the minorities by damaging their institutions, schemes and places of worship.
