  • Makkah’s Grand Mosque floor is always cool, ever wondered why? Know here

Makkah’s Grand Mosque floor is always cool, ever wondered why? Know here

    [ad_1]

Riyadh: The General Authority for the Presidency of the Two Holy Mosques in Saudi Arabia has revealed that the reason behind the cold floors of the Grand Mosque in Makkah, even as summer temperatures rise to about 50 degrees Celsius, is due to the type of marble used in the floors.

The authority said in a statement, on Tuesday, that the marble used in the floors is a special type that is imported, especially from the Greek island of Thassos. It is characterized by the fact that it reflects light and heat.

The characteristics of this marble make it a suitable choice for the spaces of the Two Holy Mosques and the millions of pilgrims, visitors and Umrah performers that receive it every year, as it is characterized by its extreme coldness, despite the extreme heat that may reach 50 degrees Celsius in the summer.

    MS Education Academy

The undersecretary of the President of the Two Holy Mosques for Technical, Operational and Maintenance Affairs, Fares Al-Saadi, explained that this type of marble works to reflect light and heat, and it is rare, and the thickness of the marble used reaches five centimetres.

This type is distinguished from others by the fact that it absorbs moisture through tiny pores during the night, and during the day it excretes what it absorbed at night, and this is what makes it always cold despite high temperatures.

It is noteworthy that this marble has been extracted from the island of Thassos in the Aegean Sea since ancient times, and the Greeks were among the first peoples to discover marble and develop its uses throughout the ages.

Saudi Arabia imports Thassos marble in the form of huge rock pieces, and they are processed in private Saudi factories under the supervision of qualified technical cadres to cut the rocks into slabs of specific sizes and with special standards.

Palestinians mark int’l Quds Day in Gaza against Israel’s storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque

    [ad_1]

Gaza: Thousands of Palestinians in Gaza marked the International Quds Day with protests against Israeli police raids into the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in East Jerusalem, the third holiest site in Islam.

Raising Palestinian flags and displaying the image of the Al-Aqsa mosque, protestors grouped across the besieged Palestinian enclave and chanted slogans slamming “Israeli violations against Jerusalem and the Palestinian worshippers in the area”.

Quds Day is a pro-Palestinian event initiated by Iran in 1979 and observed annually on the last Friday of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, which falls on April 14 this year.

    MS Education Academy

During a demonstration, senior Popular Front party official Louay al-Qaryouti delivered a speech on behalf of Palestinian factions, in which he called for unified Arab and Islamic efforts to confront Israel’s occupation and stay committed to the Palestinian cause, Xinhua news agency reported.

The Gaza-ruling Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) said in a statement that “Quds Day represents an opportunity to unify efforts in support of the steadfastness of the Jerusalemites, the stationed, and the defenders of the holiest place”.

Earlier in the month, the Israeli forces carried out raids for two consecutive days on the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in Jerusalem, firing teargas canisters and stun grenades to disperse Palestinian worshipers.

The Israeli raids came during a sensitive time when Muslims are observing the holy month of Ramadan with prayers at the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, while Jews were commemorating the Passover holiday.

The raids were condemned by countries in the Middle East and triggered an escalation of conflicts along Israel’s borders.

Israeli govt tweet scolding Palestinian kids playing football at Al-Aqsa Mosque

    [ad_1]

Tel Aviv: An Israeli foreign ministry tweeted the video scolding Palestinian kids for playing football on the grounds of Al-Aqsa Mosque.

On April 9, Israeli foreign ministry took to Twitter and wrote, “What is happening right now at Al-Aqsa? Following the evening payers of #Ramzan many youngsters entered the Masque & closed the doors, for no reason.

“Meanwhile, soccer matches are being held just next to the Mosque. Is this how the sanctity of the place is being maintained?,” Israeli foreign ministry added.

    MS Education Academy

The tweet caused an uproar on social media platforms with people pointing out the hypocrisy of bringing up ‘sanctity’ a week after Israeli forces attacked worshippers.

One of the Twitter user wrote, “Is this your lame excuse to beat the worshippers up violently, during the holy month of #Ramadan? The irony is so thick! You talk about sanctity while disregarding Palestinian lives.”

Another user shared a video of Israeli settlers beating worshippers in Al Aqsa Mosque and wrote, “Who authorizes you to treat Muslims in this way?  While they were performing prayers in Al-Aqsa Mosque, your forces entered them and assaulted them, violating the sanctity of Al-Aqsa Mosque.”

  • Israel bans non-Muslims from Al-Aqsa Mosque for rest of Ramzan

Israel bans non-Muslims from Al-Aqsa Mosque for rest of Ramzan

    [ad_1]

Israel has banned visits by Jews and tourists to the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound after a wave of unrest in the holy city of Jerusalem until the end of Ramzan.

A statement issued by the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday said, “Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant & National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir completed a comprehensive assessment with heads of the security services on the security situation in Israel, including Judea and Samaria, Jerusalem and the Temple Mount.”

It was decided to prevent Jewish visitors and tourists from entering the Temple Mount until the end of Ramzan, “based on the unanimous recommendation of Defense Minister and Chief of Staff Herzi Halevy, Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar, and police chief Yaakov Shabtai.”

    MS Education Academy

National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir said, in a statement to his office, that “the prime minister’s decision is a grave mistake that will not bring calm, but may only lead to an escalation of the situation.”

He added that the absence of Jews in Al-Aqsa Mosque “will lead to a reduction in the remaining police force in the place, which will create a fertile ground for huge demonstrations to incite the killing of Jews, and even the scenario of throwing stones at Jewish worshipers at the Western Wall.”

Earlier on Tuesday, 788 Israeli settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque, under heavy police protection, on the occasion of the Jewish holiday of Passover.

Since last week, occupied Jerusalem has been witnessing tension after the Israeli police stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque at night, and prevented worshipers from performing Itikaf in it.

Settlement groups called for large-scale storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque on the occasion of the Jewish Passover holiday, which continues until Wednesday.

The repeated storming of Al-Aqsa led to security tension and clashes throughout the Palestinian territories and the Arab regions of Israel.

    [ad_1]

Riyadh: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s mosque built before the year 544 AH, will be renovated as part of a project to preserve urban heritage, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

Abu Inbeh Mosque is considered one of the oldest mosques in the Jeddah Governorate, which was included in the project of Prince Mohammad bin Salman for the development of historical mosques in its second phase.

The project will restore Abu Inbeh Mosque in the architectural style of the Western region, by developing the facades of the mosque.

    MS Education Academy

It specifically targets Rawashin and Mashrabiyas, which uses the best wooden panels to cover windows and external openings, including balconies. It also has important environmental functions, such as repelling direct sunlight and allowing the air to cool the mosque.

The building is characterized by the architectural style of the western region, which is intended to withstand the natural conditions surrounding the coast.

Abu Inbeh Mosque is one of the 30 mosques that the Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Project will renovate in its second phase in all 13 regions of the Kingdom.

Mumbai Ram Navami violence: ‘Criminal conspiracy’ invoked for pelting stones at mosque

    [ad_1]

Mumbai: The Indian Penal Code (IPC) section related to criminal conspiracy has been invoked in the case of stone pelting at a Ram Navami procession in suburban Malad late last month, Mumbai police officials said on Monday.

More than 20 persons have so far been arrested in connection with the incident which took place in the Malvani area of Malad on March 30.

A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against more than 200 people, they said.

    MS Education Academy

The police team probing the case of violence recorded statements of an Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) officer and a cop from the Malvani police station on April 2, an official said.

Both the personnel, in their statements, told the probe team March 30 violence was orchestrated by the accused persons, including those arrested and wanted, deliberately, he said.

They sat together near a mosque, by violating the orders prohibiting unlawful assembly, and hatched the conspiracy of the crime, the official said.

Accordingly, IPC section 120 (B) (punishment of criminal conspiracy) was added to the FIR on April 2 following directions from senior police officials, he said.

Earlier, the police had invoked various IPC sections, including 353 (assault or use of criminal force to deter a public servant from discharge of his duty), 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means), 145 (unlawful assembly), 147 (rioting) and relevant sections of the Maharashtra Police Act, against the accused.

A police official earlier said the tension began on March 30 following disputes over loud DJ music being played in the procession as it passed through the vicinity of some mosques in Malvani.

As per the FIR, more than 6,000 people had participated in the Ram Navami procession organised by the Bajrang Dal, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and some other Hindu organisations.

The procession began from Ram Janki temple late in the afternoon.

Around 7.25 pm, as it was moving towards Jama Masjid, 100 to 150 people objected to the high volume of music as namaz was going on in the mosque, a police official earlier said.

As the music volume was not lowered, there was some slogan-shouting and one of the men who had objected to loud music allegedly hurled a stone at the procession and it hit a participant, he said.

Police personnel deputed for security along the route immediately took the man who had thrown the stone into custody, he said.

As per the FIR, when the procession was near the Ali Hazrat mosque around 8.45 pm, a mob of 200 to 250 people began to pelt stones.

As police tried to bring the situation under control, some people in the mob hurled stones at them and manhandled some police personnel, the FIR said.

According to the locals, some youths from the village asked people inside the mosque who were offering prayers to stop it and later vandalised the place.
