One ideology, one person can not make or break country: Mohan Bhagwat

    [ad_1]

Nagpur: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Tuesday said “good countries” of the world have multitude of ideas, and one ideology or one person can not make or break a country.

He was speaking at an awards function organised by the Rajratna Puraskar Samiti here.

“One person, one thought, one group, one ideology can not make or break a country,” Bhagwat said.

“Good countries of the world have all kinds of thoughts. They also have all kinds of systems, and they are growing with this multitude of systems,” he added.

Speaking of the Bhonsle family, the former royal family of Nagpur, he said it was connected with the RSS from the time of the Sangh’s founder K B Hedgewar.

While Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj founded `Swarajya’ (sovereign state) and southern India was freed of atrocities during his time, East and North India were freed from atrocities under the rule of the Nagpur Bhonsle family, he said.

India belongs to Mahmood as much as PM Modi, Mohan Bhagwat: Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind chief

    [ad_1]

New Delhi: Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind president Mahmood Madani said India belongs to him as much as Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat.

Speaking at the inaugural plenary session of Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind at Ramlila Maidan in the national capital, Maulana Madani said, “India is our country. This country belongs to Mahmood Madani as much as it belongs to Narendra Modi and Mohan Bhagwat. Neither Mahmood is an inch ahead of them nor are they one inch ahead of Mahmood.”

He further said that Islam is the oldest religion in this country. “This land is the first homeland of Muslims. Saying that Islam is a religion that came from outside is totally wrong and baseless. Islam is the oldest religion among all religions. India is the best country for Hindi Muslims,” Madani said.

The Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind chief said that they are against forced religious conversions adding that today people who are converting their religion voluntarily are also being sent to jail on false charges.

He said, “We are against religious conversion driven forcibly. Freedom of religion is a fundamental right. We are also against conversion by force, fraud and greed. There are many examples of agencies targeting the Muslim community, such as the ban on Namaz, police action on them, and bulldozer action.”

The three-day plenary session of Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind began on Friday in Delhi.

According to Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind, Uniform Civil Code, religious freedom and Muslim personal law and autonomy of madrassas are among some issues that will be discussed in the convention. Further, it said a proposal can be brought to provide reservation for socio-economically backward Muslims.

In the 34th session of Jamiat, the steps being taken to strengthen religious brotherhood and initiatives to prevent hate campaigns are also part of the agenda.

Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind is a century-old organization and works for the protection of the civil, religious, cultural and educational rights of Muslims. Jamiat claims to be the largest organization of Muslims and socio-political and religious issues of Muslims remain on its agenda. The Jamiat believes in the Deobandi ideology of Islam.

No one is high or low. Taking the basis of the scriptures, Pandits (scholars) who speak about ‘high-low’ is a lie.”

Speaking to the media, the RSS leader said, “He (Mohan Bhagwat) was at the Sant Ravidas Jayanti event. He mentioned ‘Pandit’, meaning ‘Vidvaan’ (scholars)…Some Pandits speak of caste-based divides on basis of Shaastras, it’s a lie. It’s his (Bhagwat’s) exact statement.”

  • Necessary to bring sense of equality with freedom: Mohan Bhagwat

Necessary to bring sense of equality with freedom: Mohan Bhagwat

    [ad_1]

Jaipur: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Thursday urged the people to bring in a sense of equality along with freedom.

Addressing the Republic Day celebrations organised at Keshav Vidyapeeth here, he said: “B.R. Ambedkar, while dedicating the Constitution to the public, said that there is no slavery in the country. Even the British have gone, but to remove the slavery that came due to social conservatism, the provision of political equality and economic equality was made in the Constitution. That is why, it is necessary to read both the speeches given by Babasaheb in the Parliament on Republic Day.”

Saying that B.R. Ambedkar showed the path of duty, the RSS chief said that for (individual) freedom, it is necessary to take care of the freedom of others.

“That’s why, it is important to have equality. To have freedom and equality together, it is necessary to bring fraternity. Ideological differences arise as part of the democratic process in Parliament. Despite this, if the spirit of fraternity prevails, then the situation of equality and freedom remains,” he said.

“After Independence, the Constitution was framed to define the path and this glorious day is celebrated as Republic Day. The Tricolour is hoisted on both days. Its saffron colour symbolises the tradition of knowledge and continuous work with ‘Sanatan’. This is the colour of the sunrise, the harbinger of action. As a Republic, we will make our country a nation of knowledgeable and hard-working people. It is necessary to get the direction of activism, sacrifice and knowledge. The flag wears white to represent power. This colour unites us. Green colour is the symbol of prosperity and Lakshmi. The feeling of ‘Sarve Bhadrani Pashyantu’ is born in the mind. Keeping the diverse society united, we should take a pledge about how far we will move forward till the next Republic Day.

The programme started with the lighting of the lamp and the National Anthem, and ended with the collective singing of ‘Vande Mataram’.
