  • Prayagraj authorities demolish ancestral home of Umesh Pal murder accused Mohammad Ghulam

Prayagraj authorities demolish ancestral home of Umesh Pal murder accused Mohammad Ghulam

    [ad_1]

Prayagraj: The Prayagraj Development Authority on Monday demolished the ancestral home of Mohammad Ghulam, an accused in the Umesh Pal murder case.

Umesh Pal was a witness in the 2005 murder of BSP MLA Raju Pal.

Mohammad Ghulam’s brother Rahil Hasan, former president of the BJP Minority Morcha’s Mahanagar unit, claimed that Ghulam had sold off his share in the house and had nothing to do with it.

A Prayagraj Development Authority team reached Rasoolabad in the Shivkuti area around noon and vacated the house. Roads on both sides of the house were barricaded before the demolition process began using two bulldozers in the presence of a large police force.

The action was in line with the demolition of unauthorised buildings of “mafia and anti-socials” after Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adiyanath’s “mitti mein mila denge” comment in the assembly during which he also accused the opposition Samajwadi Party of patronising gangster-politicians such as Atiq Ahmed.

Ahmed is the main accused in the Raju Pal murder case. He was recently booked in connection with the killing of Umesh Pal.

Local residents stood on rooftops and across the barricades to witness the demolition, which was completed in four hours.

A Prayagraj Development Authority official said the authorities did not pass the blueprint of the house and the construction was “unauthorised”.

Speaking to reporters, Hasan — Ghulam’s brother and the former BJP Minority Morcha office-bearer — said, “We have been depositing house tax and electricity bills on time. ‘Bhai’ (Ghulam) has done wrong things and our whole family is against him.

“We have decided that if something like this (killing in an encounter) happens, we will not even take his body. Our family is innocent but the whole family is being blamed for this incident (Umesh Pal murder).”

Claiming that Ghulam had nothing to do with their demolished home, Hasan said, “He had sold off his share in the house and asked for a place to stay for some time, saying that he would shift after building his own house.”

“But this could not happen and today the roof over our heads has been removed,” Hasan added.

On March 3, the BJP’s Mahanagar unit chief Ganesh Kesarwani disbanded the BJP Minority Morcha and removed Hasan from his post as president after Ghulam’s alleged involvement in the Umesh Pal murder came to the fore.

Ghulam is among the five accused on whom the Uttar Pradesh Police has announced a cash reward of Rs 5 lakh. The other four are Ahmed’s son Asad, Arman, Guddu and Sabir.

On March 13, the Uttar Pradesh Police increased the reward for anyone providing information leading to their arrest from Rs 2.5 lakh to Rs 5 lakh.

Umesh Pal and his police security guard Sandeep Nishad were shot dead outside his home in Prayagraj’s Dhoomanganj on February 24. His other security guard, who was also injured in the attack, died in hospital a few days later.

Based on a complaint lodged by Umesh Pal’s wife Jaya Pal, a case was registered against Ahmed, his brother Ashraf, wife Shaista Parveen, two sons, aides Guddu Muslim and Ghulam, and nine others.

Two men allegedly linked to the murder — Arbaaz and Vijay Chowdhary alias Usman — were killed in encounters with the police on February 27 and March 6, respectively.

Ahmed, a former MP, is currently lodged in a Gujarat jail.

Demolition of properties belonging to people close to Ahmed gained momentum after Adityanath told the assembly that his government would come down on heavily on mafia operating in the state.

“In mafiyon ko mitti me mila denge (We will finish off these gangsters),” Adityanath had told the House.

  • Tale of Talent & Potential: Mohammad Suhail Khan, Pulwama’s Specially-abled Artist Setting A Strong Precedent

Tale of Talent & Potential: Mohammad Suhail Khan, Pulwama’s Specially-abled Artist Setting A Strong Precedent

    [ad_1]

“If government gives me assistance, it will increase my confidence to do more”: Suhail Khan

    Rehan Qayoom Mir

Srinagar, Mar 6 (GNS): Stress, mental imbalance and fear, a tale of a specially-abled person, who has seen all this but never stopped. Located approximately 13 kilometres from the main city, Hani-Pora Pulwama is home to a 29-year-old artist, Mohammad Suhail Khan, who is deaf and mute but exceptionally versatile. Despite deficiency he keeps going on and proves that, if you have talent you can conquer the world.

Suhail Khan is a 29-year-old artist who has faced numerous challenges in his life due to his deafness and inability to speak. Despite these challenges, Suhail has proven to be a talented and versatile artist with a range of skills and interests.

Suhail’s journey as an artist began at a young age, when he discovered his passion for drawing and painting. Despite the difficulties he faced in communicating with others and expressing himself, Suhail’s talent has been shining through his art. As he grew older, Suhail began to explore other mediums and techniques, including sculpture and printmaking.

Despite his talent, Suhail has faced numerous challenges in his career as an artist. One major obstacle has been the lack of support and recognition from the art world and the general public alike. Despite his struggles, Suhail has never given up on his dreams and continues to create beautiful art.

Suhail who is doing his BA in fine arts at University of Kashmir, while talking to the Global News Service (GNS), said that, he has a finesse in painting, sketching, clay modeling, sculpture, food, art, cake decorating, henna design, ring making, wall painting, photography, videography and art works as well.

Despite all these skills, Suhail while talking about the dark side of his talent says till now he hasn’t seen any significant response from the government or any other institution. “No doubt my art is God gifted, but people don’t see me as an artist, they still see me as a disabled man”, he says adding “In Kashmir, people fail to see a person’s talent; they only see his/her weakness.”

One of the most remarkable things about Suhail is his ability to overcome the barriers that have come every now and then. His deafness and inability to speak have not held him back from pursuing his passions and achieving success. Instead, Suhail has used these challenges as motivation to work harder and improve his skills.

Suhail’s talent and determination have earned him the respect and admiration of his peers and the art community. Many people have recognized the unique perspective that Suhail brings to his art, and he has received numerous accolades for his work – albeit none from any institution or government.

Suhail’s journey as an artist is a testament to the fact that anyone can achieve his/her dreams with hard work and determination. His story serves as an inspiration to others who may be facing similar challenges and serves as a reminder that everyone has the potential to achieve greatness.

“If the government gives me assistance, it will increase my confidence to do more. Everyone here is out of his home to earn money for himself, and at the end of the day, I see myself on the same platform, with any help from the government or any institution. Even though I have this rare talent, unfortunately, I have never been recognized by the government, despite the fact that I have showcased a talent out of the world for many years,” says Suhail.

“If anybody has been here for me, it has only been my family. They helped me on every step of the way. If I hadn’t received their help, I wouldn’t have come up with anything,” says Suhail while requesting the Government for support.

Irfan Lone, a very close friend of Suhail and his current roommate at University of Kashmir hostel, says that Suhail is a very gentle and humble person. He has a very frank nature and he is a man of golden heart, and it is very cool to be a roommate of such a super talented person.

“The only thing I wish is that Suhail’s art must get a good platform. He is a superb artist, but he has never been appreciated. My request to the Government is to give him a good platform to showcase his talent,” says Irfan.

Suhail says he wishes to earn by his talent and wants people to know him by his talent, not by his disability, and for that purpose he wants some sort of help from the administration. (GNS)

Watch Video: Mohammad Amir’s Controversial Gesture In PSL Leaves Fans Fuming

Pakistani pacer Mohammad Amir has time and again made headlines for his action in the Pakistan Super League.

The left-arm seamer earned plenty of flak for his on-field antics while bowling to Pakistan national team skipper Babar Azam. The incident even saw ex-Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi reaching out to Amir and speaking to him about his actions.

However, Afridi’s words seem to have had no impact on Amir, who left fans disgusted with another poor action on the field in a PSL match.

Mohammad Amir, who is currently plying his trade for the Karachi Kings, was bowling in the 6th over of the game against Lahore Qalandars. On the first ball, Irfan Khan Niazi took a brilliant catch off Amir’s bowling to dismiss the dangerous Shai Hope. After taking the wicket, Amir took a leaf out of WWE Superstar Triple H’s book as he imitated the famous but controversial ‘Suck It’ gesture made famous by the pro wrestling legend.

    Watch the controversial gesture below:

In an earlier match between the Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi, Mohammad Amir and Babar Azam were embroiled in quite a heated exchange, and this in turn angered fans and ex-cricketers alike, including Shahid Afridi who had quite some harsh words for the fast bowler.

Reacting to Amir’s antics, Shahid Afridi had said: “Whenever a player doesn’t perform, or even if he does, I drop him a message to call him. Likewise, I messaged Amir yesterday. I talked to him respectfully, but I also scolded him. I told Amir, ‘what do you want?’ You have gained so much respect, you faced a blot on your reputation and from there, you made a return. You got a new life, in a way. What are you even trying to do?”

Ye koi tareeka hai? (Is this the way to play?) There are juniors around you, you are using bad words. There are fans who are disheartened to see that. Even we have used such words and sometimes, the camera used to catch us. There are families, kids watching you on television. Aggression is fine, but keep it under control,” Afridi had further said.

Iran government releases filmmaker Mohammad Rasoulof

    [ad_1]

Award-winning Iranian filmmaker Mohammad Rosoulof, has been temporarily released from Evin prison in Iran on medical reasons after spending more than seven months in prison, the Iranian media reports

Rasoulof was arrested on July 8, 2022, along with fellow filmmaker Mostafa Al-Ahmed, after being accused of encouraging protests that followed a deadly building collapse in May in the southwestern city of Abadan.

After this tragedy, a group of Iranian filmmakers led by Rasoulof published an open letter condemning “corruption, theft, inefficiency and repression” and asked the security forces to “lay down their weapons”.

Rasoulof’s temporary release comes only a few days after Jafar Panahi’s release.

The release comes as Iran has been gripped in nearly four months of protests over the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini, after she was arrested on charges of violating Iran’s strict dress codes.
