    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: Reacting to the union budget delivered by Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman BRS MLC K Kavitha Kalvakuntla on Wednesday said that the income tax rebate on income up to Rs 7 lakhs in the new tax regime is of no use to the people of Telangana.

“This budget mathematical confirmation of the failure of Modi govt. This seems like a budget for few states. We hoped tax rebate of up to Rs 10 lakhs. In Telangana, we pay good salaries to people so this rebate is of no use to us,” she said speaking to ANI.

Kavitha also said that the centre only announces development projects in either poll-bound states or BJP-governed states.

“Centre announces development projects in either poll-bound states or BJP-governed states. They announced Rs 10,000 crore for infrastructure, which infrastructure? They are not clear. They owe us Rs 1000 cr & I request Finance Min to pay our dues,” she further said.

Will quit BJP to join Congress, says Karnataka BJP MLC Vishwanath

    [ad_1]

Mysuru: Karnataka BJP MLC and senior party leader, H. Vishwanath on Saturday confirmed that he is quitting the ruling BJP and joining Congress.

Talking to reporters after a meeting with Karnataka Congress President D.K. Shivakumar and state in-charge Randeep Singh Surjewala, he said, he would join Congress either before the elections or after the elections in the state.

He also maintained that he does not have any difference of opinion with Opposition party leader Siddaramaiah. “We are always fine on personal levels. We studied law together and are friends,” he said.

“I was with Congress party for 40 years. I don’t bother about anything. I have always seen Congress party like a mother. I will not contest in upcoming assembly elections. Not even my children will face the polls,” he said.

“I was with JD(S) party and it was a party of one family members. Seven family members of former Chief Minister Kumaraswamy were cabinet ministers in the coalition government. Later, BJP came to power and administration was not good during BJP’s rule as well. Yediyurappa has continued corruption till date in the state,” he said.

“For all these reasons, I am supporting Congress. Pro-people governance is very important. More than joining Congress party, I support the party,” he added.

Vishwanath, who was the President of JD(S), had quit the party to join BJP. He was in the forefront of rebellion while ‘operation lotus’ was carried out in Karnataka by the ruling BJP.

Telangana: Complaint filed against BRS MLC for remarks on Governor

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: Members of the BJP Mahila Morcha (BMM) here on Friday lodged a complaint with the chairperson of the Telangana State women’s commission against BRS MLC Kaushik Reddy for using “obscene language” against Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan.

Kaushik Reddy had passed comments against the Telangana Governor for delaying the signing of bills passed by the state legislature, the video of which has gone viral. “According to K. Geetha Murthy, state president of the BMM, the video which has become viral on social media, shows Kaushik Reddy uttering derogatory phrases in Telugu targeting the governor on the issue.

In the viral video Kaushik Reddy reportedly said, “Today you are speaking, I am asking which Constitution is the Governor following. KCR government is elected by people and all MLAs and MLC is has passed the bills and you are keeping them under your buttocks.” BJP and the BMM has since then condemned his statements.

“As the governor is the constitutional head and the first citizen of the state, due respect should be given to the post and when the post is adorned by a lady, due respect has to be given while addressing her. As the language used by Mr Kaushik Reddy is very derogatory and used to demean the governors dignity intentionally and consciously, BJP Janata Mahila Morcha request your authority to take cognizance of the attendance of the said MLC and suitable action be taken that lest anybody, leave alone the ruling party representatives, resort to such heinous behaviour,” wrote Geetha Murthy in her complaint.
