Hyderabad: CID conducts raid at premises of former Andhra minister Narayana’s daughter

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: Criminal Investigation Department (CID) officials conducted a raid at the residence of former Andhra Pradesh minister P Narayana’s daughter in Hyderabad on Friday in connection with an ongoing case.

These raids might be connected to the case related to an FIR filed against the former minister for an alleged paper leak case at the Narayana School in the Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh.

Earlier, Andhra Pradesh Police registered a case under various sections including 10 AP Public examinations (Prevention of Malpractices), and section 408 (Criminal breach of trust by clerk or servant) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

P Narayana is the founder and director of the Narayana Institutions.

In April last year, the question paper for Telugu was allegedly leaked in the school, and when the police found that the teacher clicked a photo of the question paper and shared it over social media, an hour later the exam started.

Telangana: ‘PM Modi helped Adani make money,’ says IT minister KTR

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: Telangana IT Minister KT Rama Rao (KTR) at a public meeting on Thursday in Bhupalpally, alleged that prime minister Narendra Modi was helping Gautam Adani become rich.

“Modi indeed helped Adani get that money,” he said referring to the recent Hindenburg research report row. KTR said that the Prime Minister failed to fulfill his election promise to deposit Rs 15 lakhs in Jan Dhan accounts.

“Though the NITI Aayog recommended the Centre to grant Rs.19,000 crore to Mission Bhagiratha and Rs.5,000 crore to Mission Kakatiya, the Centre has not sanctioned a single rupee for these schemes,” he said.

KTR further argued that the PM was responsible for the death of 700 farmers during the protests against the Centre but the BJP leaders still call him God.

“I am asking them for whom he is a God,” he added.

He said that the prices of LPG cylinders have increased from Rs 400 to Rs 1200 during the Modi Government.

Speaking about Congress, he said that people should not get carried away by propaganda spread by the party that was conducting foot marches in the state. “But what did Congress do for the united Andhra Pradesh when it was in power for five decades? The state will suffer a lot if they are given power again,” he said.

Amaravati: Former Andhra Pradesh minister Kanna Lakshminarayana, who resigned from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) last week, has joined the Telugu Desam Party (TDP).

Kanna formally joined the TDP in the presence of the party’s national president and former chief minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu.

Naidu offered yellow colour scarf to Kanna to admit him in the party.

A large number of followers of the former minister also joined the TDP with him.

Kanna started from his residence in Guntur with hundreds of supporters. The procession with a large number of cars reached the TDP office at Mangalagiri.

As per the mahuratam, Kanna joined TDP at 2.48 p.m.

Speaking on the occasion, Naidu said that he heartily welcomes Kanna into the TDP fold. He termed this as a good augur for the TDP.

The TDP chief said that Kanna has a special place in state politics. He recalled that the former minister had become active since his student days to come up in politics.

Naidu noted that Kanna was elected as MLA for five terms and also served as minister from 2004 to 2014.

Kanna quit the BJP last week.

The senior leader, who earlier headed the BJP in the state, said that he was resigning due to the state BJP president Somu Veerraju’s style of functioning.

A five-time state legislator from Guntur district, Lakshminarayana severed his nearly four-decade association with the Congress to join the BJP in 2014, a few months after the elections.

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: Reacting to the death of a five-year-old boy, who succumbed to injuries after he was mauled by a pack of stray dogs in Telangana, state minister KT Rama Rao on Tuesday said that he would work in full capacity to ensure such incidents do not repeat in future.

“We’ve been trying to tackle street dog menace in our municipalities. We’ve created animal care centres and animal birth control centres. My sincere condolences to the family and we’ll ensure that our best is done so that these incidents are not repeated,” the BRS leader told ANI.

Earlier, a five-year-old boy, Pradeep, was mauled to death by stray dogs in Hyderabad.

The incident, which occurred in the Amberpet locality on Sunday was caught on a CCTV camera.

The boy had accompanied his father Gangadhar, who worked as a security guard in the area.

Minister threatens NLSIU to provide Karnataka locals 25% reservation

    [ad_1]

Bengaluru: Karnataka Law Minister J.C. Madhu Swamy said on Tuesday that if the National Law School of India University (NLSIU) in Bengaluru refuses to provide 25 percent reservation for Kannadiga students, the BJP government in the state would initiate action against it.

“If the university fails to provide reservation lawfully, we will not hesitate to take action,” he reiterated on the floor of the Assembly on Tuesday.

BJP MLA S. Suresh Kumar had raised the question in this regard.

“The stand of the state is very clear on this issue. We are committed to providing reservation to our children,” Madhu Swamy said.

“The matter is coming up before the Supreme Court on February 24 and we are hopeful that we will get justice. The Supreme Court has also expressed the same feelings which we have. NLSIU was questioned as to why reservation is not given in Karnataka when it has been provided in other states,” he said.

Karnataka has appointed Solicitor General of India Tushar Mehta to argue its case.

“If reservation is not provided, initiating legal action would become inevitable. Let’s wait. As we are reposing faith in the judiciary, let us not go for harsh action at this stage,” Madhu Swamy ssaid.

Suresh Kumar said that the NLSIU is not providing reservation to Kannadiga students, flouting the law.

“The college management has not followed the law for two years. The state had given land to establish the university. There is no gratitude from the university towards the state. The funds to the university should be stopped,” Suresh Kumar demanded.

The institution was given 23 acres of land and Rs 22 crore funds by the Karnataka government.

“But our children are not getting seats there,” Suresh Kumar said.

Former Speaker and BJP MLA K.G. Bopaiah said the university is behaving as if it doesn’t have any accountability towards the Karnataka government.

Congress MLA Krishna Bhyregowda said that the matter is very sensitive as the Chief Justice of India is the President of the administrative board of NLSIU.
