  • SDH Uri Left With Only 3 Ambulances, All 4 in Medical Block, As 7 Ambulances Scrapped Last Month

    [ad_1]

    Zaffer Iqbal

Uri, Mar 14 (GNS): Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Uri in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district is left with only three ambulances, even as the whole medical block total four vehicles, after seven ambulances were scrapped by the authorities last month.

A health official at SDH Uri told GNS that they are facing huge difficulties in managing the things, particularly with regard to referral of patients as there is an acute dearth of ambulances in the medical block. “There are only three ambulances available at SDH Uri and one ambulance at NTPHC Kamalkote Uri”, he said adding all in all there is a total of four ambulances available in the whole Medical block – Uri.

He said the ambulances of PHC Mohura, NTPHC Garkote, NTPHC Nambla and NTPHC Isham and 3 of SDH Uri were condemned last month and all these ambulances were sent back to the department.

He further said Medical Block Uri consists of almost 40 health centers and these centres are located in far off villages of Uri. “In emergency cases when an ambulance goes from SDH Uri to bring patients from different health centers or villages and if a patient needs to be shifted for further treatment, he is shifted from Uri but the patients too are suffering due to shortage of ambulances”, he said.

He said that even as Block Medical Officer (BMO) has intimated the issue to higher ups, there is nothing being done regarding the matter as of now.

Meanwhile a delegation of locals told GNS that Uri town is one of the far-off hamlets of Kashmir and Sub-division Uri which spans over 100 plus villages and majority of the population are living in tough terrain due to hilly area with nearly 40 villages of the Uri located on Line of Control.

They said if the government has introduced many schemes regarding better medical facilities, then why is a remote area(s) like Uri being neglected. “We frequently witness road accidents and wild animal attacks, so in such a scenario availability of prompt ambulance services becomes altogether important”, they said.

Meanwhile the higher-ups did not respond to any calls despite repeated attempts made by GNS. (GNS)

Andrew Tate denies lung cancer claims; Dubai hospital condemns medical letter leak

    [ad_1]

The controversial British-American kickboxer turned social media influencer Andrew Tate, who has been detained in Romania since December, has denied having lung cancer.

This comes after a copy of his medical file went viral on social media platforms and also came after his manager, The Sartorial Shooter took to Instagram on Friday to inform that the news was true.

Now, Tate has denied the news and called it rumours. Taking to Twitter, he said his lungs have the capacity of an “Olympic athlete”.

“I do not have cancer. My lungs contain precisely 0 smoking damage. In fact, I have an 8L lung capacity and the vital signs of an Olympic athlete,” Andrew Tate tweeted.

“There is nothing but a scar on my lung from an old battle. True warriors are scarred both inside and out,” he added.

He believes that “As one of the most influential men on the face of the planet, it is important for the good of humanity that I live as long as possible. At my current strength levels, I estimate to survive at least 5,000 more years.”

“It is important for the good of humanity that I live as long as possible. At my current strength levels, I estimate to survive for at least 5000 more years. With this in mind, I take my medical care extremely seriously,” Tate continued in a Twitter thread.

Moreover, he mentioned his health check before his arrest in Romania.

“I had a regular checkup organized in Dubai pre-detention. The doctors were extremely interested in the scar on my lung. They do not understand how I survive without treatment. They do not know the secrets of Wudan. But this battle has long passed,” the influencer concluded.

Dubai hospital condemns leak of Tate’s medical letter

In response to a leak of the letter, King’s College Hospital in London where Tate was receiving treatment said, “We confirm that the letter, which details Mr Tate’s visits at our hospital in Dubai Hills, and the Medical Centres in Dubai Marina and Jumeirah, as well as the diagnostic tests he underwent was issued by one of our family medicine practitioners Dr Ali Razzak.”

Razzak is the medical director of King’s Dubai Marina Medical Center and Tate’s primary care physician, according to the statement.

Regarding the leaked documents, the hospital “strongly condemned” it and reiterated that the leak did not happen on their end.

  • Twitter war between Telangana Guv & Harish Rao on medical college allocation

Twitter war between Telangana Guv & Harish Rao on medical college allocation

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: Telangana health minister T Harish Rao on Sunday slammed Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan for her remarks on the allocation of medical colleges by centre to the state.

The Governor reacting to a Twitter user’s question on the number of medical colleges given to Telangana, said that the state government failed to apply in time as stated by union minister Mansukh Mandaviya. ‘You sleep and wake up late and ask. TN got 11 medical colleges in a single Year,” she remarked.

Responding to her tweet, Harish Rao said that the centre released only Rs 156 crores out of Rs 1365 crores estimated for the completion of All India Institute Of Medical Science (AIIMS) Bibinagar.

He questioned the union government as to why the Gujarat AIIMS received 52 per cent of the funds allocated for it while Telangana received only 11.4 percent.

He remarked, “It would be a great help to people of Telangana, if Raj Bhavan reorients its focus and pushes Government of India for a Tribal University and Rail Coach factory, as promised in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act of 2014”.

“Why no one voices about injustice meted to TS? Why not find fault with Centre in the interest of Telangana? It would be a great help to people of TS, if Raj Bhavan reorients its focus & pushes GoI for Tribal University and Rail Coach factory, as promised in APRA2014,” he tweeted.

He further tweeted, “Fact is gross injustice meted out to Telangana in sanctioning of Medical Colleges, despite repeated pleas from state government to Centre”.

He said that out of 157 medical colleges approved by Centre, none were allocated to Telangana. “Union government discriminated and deceived Telangana in all three phases of allotment of colleges,” he added.

Referring to Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s remarks that medical colleges were not allotted to Telangana state as the state government proposed districts that already have the medical colleges, Rao said, “Who is misleading people?”

“What’s worse is Union ministers’ contrasting statements on medical colleges. One said Telangana didn’t make any request, other said government wanted colleges in Khammam and Karimnagar. By stating Centre didn’t give a nod bcos private colleges are already set up, Who is misleading people?” he further remarked.

He said that chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao set up 12 medical colleges in Telangana with the state’s own funds. He said that the medical colleges were allotted in tune with the vision of setting up one medical college per each district.

“Telangana tops in the country with 19 MBBS seats per one lakh population. Instead of hurling abuses, the Centre and the Governor should appreciate the state government for opening 8 medical colleges in one day,” he said.

He questioned the Central government saying “Why does Gujarat AIIMS get 52% of estimated funds while Telangana gets only 11.4 percent when both the projects were sanctioned in 2018?”

“Instead of giving funds to Bibinagar AIIMS, which is supposed to be on par with Delhi AIIMS, Union minister makes false claims blaming Telangana government,” he said in another tweet.
