    MS Academy kids win 138 gold medals in Int’l Mathematics Olympiad

    Hyderabad: MS Education here Academy bagged 138 gold medals in the International Mathematics  Olympiad, a  prestigious competitive test, where young minds from around the world come together to showcase their skills and knowledge in fundamental subjects.

    In the competition, 138 students of MS Education Academy won gold medals at level 1 out of 1331 contestants. Students from the third to ninth grade participated and attended the test. Five of them advanced to the next level, accomplishing success in Level 2 of the competition.

    Following the success, the school management held a ceremony in Hyderabad to felicitate the winners (when?). This was the first time ever that the students of the school participated in the International Mathematics Olympiad.

    At the ceremony, managing director of MS Education Academy, Anwar Ahmad, addressed the audience and said that MS is striving hard to get the youngsters of the community at top levels such as  the Indian Administrative Services. Expressing joy over the success of his students, he said “ The International Mathematics Olympiad would prove to be a stepping stone for the students to achieve their aspirations.”

    Dr Moazzam Hussain, senior director of MSEA, while applauding the winners, said this was the first taste of success for the educational institution.

    “However, it would not be the last as students have a long way to go in their careers. The next goal of MS Education Academy is to participate in the International Science Olympiad, which will be held on November 21, 2023. The school is committed to performing well in this competition too. Insha Allah, they will also participate in the International Maths Olympiad and International English Olympiad in the next academic year,” Hussain added.

    What is Math Olympiad Exam?

    The Math Olympiad is a prestigious exam conducted for every grade so that students can present their mathematical skills. The competitive test consists of real-life logical problems and situations based on the student’s grade level.

    Telangana wins 3 bronze medals at National Women’s Chess Championship

    Hyderabad: Sports Authority of Telangana State (SATS) chairman Anjaneya Goud on Friday honoured the winners of the National Women’s Chess Championship – 2023.

    The championship was held at Pollach, Tamil Nadu, and the Telangana women’s chess team won three bronze medals.

    Speaking on the occasion, Goud congratulated the state team for excelling beyond its capacity and winning the medals.

    Telangana State Women’s Chess Team led by Kirti Ganta (Captain), alongside teammates Sarayu Natura Beti, Sneha Bharathi, Yashvi Jain, and Shirisha won three bronze medals and placed fourth overall in the tournament.

    He expressed jubilation that the athletes have achieved excellent results with the support of SATS.

    He also informed that the Telangana State Women’s Chess Championship was also organized by ‘SATS’ to encourage women in chess.

    J&K tops medal tally, bagging 26 Gold, 25 Silver, 25 Bronze medals

    Gulmarg, Feb 14: Five days National Event of 3rd edition of Khelo India concluded today at Gulmarg with a grand function attended by over two thousand participants including players, tourists and officials of different departments.

    Union Minister of State for Home Affairs and Youth Affairs & Sports, Nisith Pramanik, was the chief guest on the occasion of the concluding ceremony.

    Joint Secretary, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Prem Kumar Jha; Secretary Youth Services & Sports and Tourism, Sarmad Hafeez; Secretary J&K Sports Council Nuzhat Gul; CEO, Gulmarg Development Authority besides Major General RK Sing and President Winter Games Rouf Trumboo, Officers of line departments, players and tourists were present on the occasion 

    Speaking on the occasion, the Nisith Pramanik remarked that the 3rd Khelo India Winter Games held at Gulmarg was a major event compared to the previous events. He said that the next event would be even bigger event which would be compared with other international events.

    He expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister Anurag Thakur and Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha for the developing sports infrastructure in J&K which helps youth to excel in different sports.

    Union Minister said that players such as Sarfaraz Ahmad and Arif Khan who played in the winter Olympics made our nation proud.

    “In the last two years the government developed Indoor Stadium in every district of Jammu and Kashmir besides play grounds in every panchayat’, he said and underlined that J&K has transitioned into a new era of prosperity.

    While distributing medals among the winners of Junior Girls Snow Shoe sport and Sprint boys, Nisith Pramanik expressed pleasure over the exemplary performance of J&K players who bagged gold in these competitions.

    He thanked officials of various departments associated with Khelo India winter games including J&K Sports Council, Tourism department, Gulmarg Development Authority, Gulmarg Cable Car Corporation, hoteliers and Winter Games Association for smooth and successful organisation of the entire event.

    Sarmad Hafeez while speaking on the occasion thanked GoI for awarding the 3rd Khelo India winter games and termed the five days programme as a snow festival in wonder land of Gulmarg and said that Gulmarg is a capital of winter sports of the country.

    While presenting vote of thanks, Nuzhat Gul expressed gratitude to Union Minister Anurag Thakur and Lieutenant Governor for their support in organising the huge event and also thanked Chief Guest of the function besides officers of line departments for their cooperation in organising the national event and concluding it successfully.

    J&K topped the medal tally, bagging 26 Gold medals, 25 silver medals, 25 Bronze medals followed by Maharashtra with 13 gold, 8 silver and 6 bronze medals. The third position was achieved by Himachal Pradesh 10 Gold, 14 Silver and 7 Bronze while Army scored 10 gold, 10 silver and 9 bronze medals.

    Srinagar, Jan 21: Two youngsters from Central Kashmir’s Budgam district have shinned in the national Pencak Silat Championship held in Maharashtra after bagging the gold medal.

    Two children, who have won gold medals in the Pencak Silat Championship, are Asgar Ali Dar (07) from Chattergam Malik Gund Budgam and Khateeba Arshid (06) from Eidgah, Srinagar.

    Asgar Ali and Khateeba while talking to news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said that they are very much happy over winning gold medal at the national level.

    They both claimed that they are interested in martial arts and want to represent India at International level.

    Akhter Hussain Dar, father of Asgar, told KNO that his son is very much interested in martial arts and has been learning different art forms from last two years.

    Asgar is learning different art forms at local stadium where trainer is training them and wants to go to international level besides that his aim is to become a police officer as well.

    Humaira Jan, mother of Khateeba told KNO that her daughter has been getting training at Indoor sports stadium in Elahibagh, Srinagar from last two years.

    She said Khateeba is very much interested in learning different art forms and has been practicing since last two years and her goal is to reach international level and bring laurels for Kashmir.

    She requested that in this era every parent must support their children sports field as if child will be talented, he/she can make future in sports field.

    Notably, the National Championship was held at Indoor Sports Complex, Swami Ramanand Teerth University Nanded Maharashtra, from January 13 to 16. Around 1400 players from 34 States participated in the event.

    J&K teams emerged as overall champions with 29 Gold, 38 Silver and 35 bronze medals while Maharashtra emerged as the runners-up in the championship—(KNO)
