    MANUU starts admission process with 8 new courses

    Hyderabad: Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) has started the online admission process for regular mode programmes offered at its Main Campus at Hyderabad, Satellite Campuses, Colleges of Teacher Education (CTEs) and Polytechnics across the country for the Academic year 2023-2024.

    MANUU is accredited with “A+” grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

    The only University offering courses at higher education level through Urdu medium has introduced Urdu Culture Studies and Comparative Studies in Ph.D., M.Sc. in (Physics, Chemistry, Botany & Zoology) and M.Voc in (Medical Imaging Technology & Medical Laboratory Technology). It has also launched full-time PG Diploma in Teaching English, part-time Diploma Programmes in Pashto, French, Russian, Islamic Studies and part-time certificate programmes in Telugu, Kashmiri, and Turkish from this academic year.

    According to the notification released by Prof. Ishtiaque Ahmed, Registrar, the last date for submission of online applications for entrance-based courses is May 28 whereas online applications for merit-based courses can be submitted till July 24.

    The admissions are offered through the entrance in Ph.D. prgorammes (Arabic, Urdu, English, Hindi, Persian, Translation Studies; Women’s Studies, Public Administration, Political Science, Social Work, Islamic Studies, History, Economics, Sociology, Deccan Studies, Education, Journalism & Mass Communication; Management, Commerce, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Computer Science, Urdu Culture Studies, Comparative Studies) along with Postgraduate programmes MBA; MCA; M. Tech. (Computer Science); M.Ed. The other entrance-based courses include Undergraduate programmes B.Ed, B.Tech. Computer Science (CS) & B.Tech CS (Lateral Entry) and Professional Diplomas such as Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.); Polytechnic-Diploma in Engineering–Civil, Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, Information Technology, Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics, Automobile and Apparel Technologies and Polytechnic-Diploma Lateral Entry.

    The courses under merit-based Post Graduate Programmes include M.A in Urdu, English, Hindi, Arabic, Translation Studies, Persian; Women Studies, Public Administration, Political Science, Islamic Studies, History, Economics, Sociology, Legal Studies; MSW (Social Work), MA in Journalism and Mass Communication; M.Com, M.Sc. (Mathematics), M.Sc. (Physics), M.Sc. (Chemistry), M.Sc. (Botany), M.Sc. (Zoology), M.Voc (MLT), M.Voc (MIT) and PG Diploma in Teaching English. Part-time PG Diploma Programmes Functional Urdu, Hindi and Translation, Professional Arabic, Translation, Diploma Programmes in Tahseen-E-Ghazal (Ghazal Appreciation), Arabic, Persian, Pashto, French, Russian, Islamic Studies and Certificate courses in Urdu, Proficiency in Arabic, Persian, Pashto, French, Russian, Telugu, Kashmiri, Turkish are also being offered through merit.

    At Lucknow Campus MA & PhD is available in Urdu, English, Arabic & Persian. At the Srinagar campus, MA & Ph.D. in Urdu, English, Islamic Studies & Economics apart from MA Persian are available. B.Ed. is being offered at CTE Bhopal, Darbhanga, Srinagar, Asansol, Aurangabad, Sambhal, Nuh and Bidar whereas M.Ed. and Ph.D. in Education are available only at CTE Bhopal and Darbhanga.

    Polytechnic Engineering Diploma in Civil, Electronics & Communication, and Computer Science & Information Technology are available at Hyderabad. Polytechnic Engineering Diploma in Civil, Computer Science, Electronics & Communication are available at Darbhanga and Bengaluru whereas, at Polytechnic Kadapa Diploma in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Electronics, Apparel Technologies are being offered. Engineering Diploma in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Electronics, Automobile are available at Cuttack, Odisha.

    Hyderabad: Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) received first prize for maintaining greenery in the 7th Garden Festival & 1st Urban Farming Festival organized by the Department of Horticulture, Government of Telangana.

    The chief guest, S. Niranjan Reddy, Minister for Agriculture and Horticulture, Telangana handed over the Gold Garden Award and certificate to S Nageswara Reddy, Executive Engineer, MANUU, at a ceremony held on April 15 at Public Gardens, Hyderabad.

    MANUU participated in the festival under the category VIII “Gardens maintained by Educational Institutions” and a team from the Horticulture Department visited MANUU campus on January 23, 2023 for inspection.

She worked on the topic “Khawateen ke Afsaanon Mein Taneesi Tasawwuraat ka Tanqeedi Tajziya” (A critical review of Feminist thoughts in the writings of women fiction writers) under the supervision of Prof. Abul Kalam, Department of Urdu, MANUU. The Viva-Voce was held on March 03, 2023.

    Hyderabad: For quality education, an increase in number of teachers is necessary, said Prof. Amir Ullah Khan, Economist and Professor, Dr. Marri Channa Reddy Human Resource Development Institute (MCRHRDI), Hyderabad today at Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU).

    He was speaking at a panel discussion  on “Education in G-20 Countries” organized by the Centre for Professional Development of Urdu Medium Teachers (CPDUMT), MANUU as part of UGC’s University Connect  initiative.

    Prof. Siddiqui Mohammad Mahmood, OSD-II  of MANUU, was the moderator.

    Prof. Syed Najamul Hasan, Department of Mathematics and Vivienne Valles Thomas, US, were the other panelists. The experts emphasized on the importance of teachers, classrooms and technology in education in G20 countries.

    In the discussion, the initiative of G20 and its objectives, importance of its presidency, the educational situation in G20 countries, the need and effectiveness of mutual cooperation, technical resources and the role of private institutions were discussed in detail. The experts gave answers to the questions raised by the participants.
    Earlier, Prof. Mohd. Abdul Sami Siddiqui, Director, CPDUMT welcomed the panelist and participants. Dr. Misbah Anzar, Assistant Professor  proposed vote of thanks

    Large number of students and teachers were present. Caps with G20 logo were distributed among the students to mark the occasion.

    Hyderabad: The Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) on Tuesday entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with White Nile University (WNU), Kosti, Sudan to strengthen, promote and develop mutually beneficial academic, research, and developmental activities.

    White Nile University, established in 1999, is a higher education institution officially recognized by Sudan’s Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

    MoU was signed by Prof. Siddiqui Mohd. Mahmood, OSD II & Registrar I/c, MANUU & Prof. Samani Abdelmutalib Ahmed, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, WNU in the presence of Prof. Elshazali Eisa Hamad, Vice-Chancellor, WNU, and Prof. Shugufta Shaheen, OSD-I, MANUU.

    Prof. Eisa Hamad and Prof. Siddiqui Mohd. Mahmood expressed their pleasure on the occasion and thanked Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice-Chancellor, MANUU for the MoU. Prof. Syed Alim Ashraf Jaisi, Dean, of Student Welfare welcomed the gathering.

    The MoU shall remain in force for a period of five Years. Both Universities agreed to exchange faculty & students relating to activities of teaching and research in fields of mutual interest, online programmes, promote joint supervisions, joint research projects, conferences, and joint courses of study.

    Hyderabad: A delegation from White Nile University, Sudan visited Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) today and met the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan. The delegation, led by Prof. Elshazali Eisa Hamad, Vice-Chancellor of White Nile University, discussed the possibility of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two universities.

    Prof. Ainul Hasan during meeting with the guests discussed potential areas of collaboration. The authorities of both the Universities agreed to explore the possibility of a formal partnership, including student and faculty exchange programmes and joint research projects. The proposed collaboration is expected to benefit both universities and promote academic and cultural exchange between India and Sudan.

    Hyderabad: Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) has declared Saleeta Jan, a Doctor of Philosophy in Urdu. She worked on the topic “Urdu Mein Khud Nawisht 1980 ke bad” (Autobiographies in Urdu after 1980) under the supervision of Prof. Shamshul Hoda, Department of Urdu, MANUU. The Viva-Voce was held on February 08.

    Meanwhile, the University also awarded Ph.D. to Shujat Akhter Rafiqi in Public Administration. He worked on the topic “People’s Participation as a Yardstick of Good Governance: A Study of Rural Development Programmes in Kashmir”, under the supervision of Dr. Abdul Quayum, Associate Professor, Department of Public Administration. The Viva-Voce was held on December 22, 2022.
