Will stay with Nitish Kumar till last breath: Jitan Ram Manjhi

Patna: HAM chief and former Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, who met Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday, claimed that he will stay with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar till the last breath of his life and there is no chance of him going into the NDA.

Manjhi met Amit Shah to demand Bharat Ratna for mountain man Dashrath Manjhi.

“There is no chance of going into the NDA. I have taken an oath to stay with Nitish Kumar till the last breath. Nitish Kumar has all the ability of a Prime Minister and he is making honest efforts to unite the opposition parties of the country.

“How could we go with the BJP which has only one ideology – to destroy smaller parties of the country? We have a small party in Bihar and it is not possible to go with them,” Manjhi said.

For the demand of Bharat Ratna for Dashrath Manjhi, a delegation had started a Padyatra from his native village Gahlor in Gaya district on March 5 this year and reached Delhi’s Jantar Mantar on April 1.

BJP slams Jitan Ram Manjhi for remarks on Lord Ram

Patna: BJP leaders jumped on the gun to target Bihar’s former Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, who marred controversy with his comments that demon king Ravana was superior to Lord Ram.

“These days it has become a fashion to abuse Hindu religion, Hindu religious texts as well Hindu gods and goddesses. It is really condemnable the way RJD leader, Samajwadi Party leader and now Jitan Ram Manjhi is on and off making statements against Hindu gods which hurts the sentiments of common Hindu masses,” said Nikhil Anand, national general secretary of BJP OBC wing.

“They should better check their tongue. If they make a statement against Islam or any other religion, they will be honoured with ‘fatwa’. They are doing it in the name of liberalism, progressivism and to express the sentiment in favour of subalterns and to appease Muslims and their vote bank. In the name of secularism, they should not do anything to hurt the sentiments of Hindu masses. The BJP strongly condemns Manjhi’s statement,” Anand said.

Jitan Ram Manjhi claims Ravan was greater than Ram

    [ad_1]

Patna: Former Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi triggered a fresh row on Friday after he said that Ravan was a greater character than Ram.

Manjhi said: “When Ram was in trouble, some divine powers always helped him, which was not the case with Ravan. Hence, Ravan was a greater character than Ram.”

Manjhi, however, also said that Ram and Ravan were imaginary characters in Ramcharitmanas and Ramayana, but in whatever way the writers presented the characters on the basis of their imagination, Ravan had an edge over Ram.

When asked whether his statement could create a controversy, Manjhi said: “I am telling the truth. Rahul Shankritayan and others had said that Ram is an imaginary character. While most who said that were Brahmins, no one would question them. But some people will accuse me for saying the same.”

“Ramcharitmanas is a very good book but it has many points which are wrong. B.R. Ambedkar and Ram Manohar Lohia had also said that the wrongful content should be removed,” Manjhi said.

“Ramayans was written by Valmiki, but no one worshiped him. On the other hand, Ramcharitmanas was written by Tulsi Das and hence every one worships him. People having Manuvadi ideology have made such a system,” he said.
