2 held for siphoning off Rs 5 lakh from bank account of Delhi man: police

New Delhi: Two men were arrested for allegedly siphoning off Rs 5 lakh from the account of a person in east Delhi, police said on Monday.
The accused have been identified as Yatish Kumar (30), a resident of Bijnor district in Uttar Pradesh, and Dharmendra Kumar alias Raman Yadav (22), a resident of Mainpuri district in UP, they said.
A case was registered on March 9 where the complainant alleged that Rs 5 lakh were debited from his account through multiple UPI transactions without getting any OTP. The complainant got the money by selling a small shop to repay loans, a senior police officer said.
A team comprising sub-inspector Nandan Singh, head constable Amit and constable Sourabh was formed to nab the accused, officials said.
During investigation, police found that the amount was transferred in three accounts registered in the name of Yatish, the officer said.
It was revealed that transactions were initiated from Berhampore in UP, while the cheated amount was withdrawn through ATM’s in Delhi. A raid was conducted in Bijnor and Yatish was nabbed, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara) Rohit Meena said.
The accused disclosed that he took a loan from Sunny Loan application. When he was not able to pay the EMI on time, he was harassed by the recovery agents, the DCP said.
He started talking to agents of the application to provide him a job through which he would pay the EMI. Later, he came in contact with a person who introduced himself as Dharmendra (Raman Yadav). He offered Yatish 10 per cent commission for give his account details, police said.

When Yatish came to Delhi, Dharmendra transferred Rs 5 lakh in his account. Yatish withdrew the cash and gave it to Dharmendra and went back to Bijnor. On the instance of Yatish, his co-accused Dharmendra was found in Mahipalpur and was arrested, police said.
It was revealed that Dharmendra contacted the complainant and said he was calling from the bank. The accused said the complainant’s cheque had some technical issue and he needed the details of debit and Aadhaar cards, they said.
Later, the accused transferred Rs 5 lakh in the account of Yatish and took cash from him after giving his share. He deposited all the cash in his account which has been frozen, police said.
Dharmendra was also found linked with Chinese loan application and was in direct touch with Chinese people which is being investigated, they added.

Bihar: Man rapes stray dog in Patna, investigation underway

Patna: A shocking incident has come to light from Bihar’s capital Patna where a stray dog was allegedly raped by a man.
The incident occurred on the day of Holi on March 8.
The video of the gruesome act also went viral on social media. The alleged incident took place in Faisal Colony of Phulwari Sharif.
In the CCTV footage, an unknown person is seen openly doing the unnatural act with a dog in the colony. Following this, an application was submitted over the matter by an NGO in Phulwari Sharif police station. After this, Patna Police started investigating the matter.
Assistant Superintendent of Police, Phulwari Sharif Manish Kumar said, “An application has come and call forward has been done with the document. Action will be taken under IPC and Animal Act. The matter is being investigated.”
The investigation is underway.

Maharashtra: Man booked for WhatsApp status on Mughal emperor Aurangzeb

Kolhapur: An offence was registered on Sunday against a man from a minority community in Maharashtra’s Kolhapur district for allegedly hailing Mughal emperor Aurangzeb on his WhatsApp status, police said.
Based on a complaint, a case under section 295 (injuring or defiling place of worship with intent to insult the religion of any class) and other relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code was registered at Vadgaon police station, an official said.
The man had allegedly hailed emperor Aurangzeb on his WhatsApp status and it came to light on March 16, he said.
The matter is being probed, the official said, urging people not to post any derogatory remarks about any religion on social media.

Man ties dog to bike, drags it over 2 km; arrested

Ghaziabad: In a shocking incident, a man has been arrested here for tying a dog to his motorcycle with a rope and dragging it for around 2.5 km on Saturday.
The man has been identified as Islam, a resident of the Vijay Nagar police station area. He was caught by the onlookers who rescued the injured dog and took it to a hospital.
Surbhi Rawat, President of People for Animals (PFA), said that the accused first hit the stray with a brick, following which it lost consciousness.
Rawat said she reached the spot on receiving information of the incident and found the dog covered in blood, following which Islam was handed over to the police.
The accused claimed that he was taking the dog to abandon it at a different place after it had shown signs of “abnormal behaviour” and bitten several people.

ACP Anshu Jain said: “A video was received through social media, wherien a dog was being dragged after being tied to a bike by a person. The said person has been identified and arrested. Further action is being taken in the matter.”

Karnataka: Man delivers Azaan outside DC office in protest against BJP MLA’s remark

Following former minister and BJP leader K S Eshwarappa’s recent comments on Azaan, a Muslim man delivered the Azaan in front of the deputy commissioner’s office in Shivamogga district, Karnataka.
A group of Muslim men holding flags protested against the BJP MLA’s statements. They even tried to barge into the DC’s office.
Eswarappa stirred a fresh controversy in Karnataka by stating that “Does Allah listen only if the Azaan prayers are played on loudspeakers?”.
Speaking at a rally organised as part of the Vijay Sankalp Yatra on Sunday, Eshwarappa said, “Will Allah listen only if the prayers are done through loudspeakers…this makes me question if He is deaf.”
His statements received backlash from the Muslim community. However, the former minister defended his statements saying India is a Hindu Rashtra.
“In the entire world India is the only country for Hindus. We are protecting the Hindu dharma. But if they (Muslims) continue this practice (of giving Azaan) through loudspeakers then we have to admit he (Allah) is deaf. So I think this issue should be addressed at the earliest,” he told reporters.
“I did not mean to condemn any religion but was voicing the sentiments of the public. Let me give you an example. When the Azaan is pronounced near an examination center, students face inconvenience. The same goes for patients in hospitals,” he added.

Telangana: Man sentenced to 20 years in jail for raping a minor

Hyderabad: A 23-year-old was awarded imprisonment of 20 years for sexually assaulting a minor in 2017. The Special Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Bhongir court judge K Maruthi Devi gave the orders on Friday.
Madothu Srikanth, a resident of Babla Naik Thanda, Thurkapally was accused of sexually assaulting a 17-year-old under the pretext of marrying her.
On July 25, 2017, the Thurkapally police received a complaint from the girl’s mother against Srikanth, she informed the police that the girl has complained of stomach ache, and upon taking her for a check-up, the doctors informed her that the girl is 7 months pregnant.
The accused was arrested by the police and he received imprisonment of 20 years and a fine of Rs 2000 after the trial on Friday.

Srinagar, Mar 17: Police on Friday said that an man who was impersonating as Additional Director (Strategy & Campaigns) PMO for somtime was arrested on 2nd March from a hotel in the summer capital Srinagar after a tip-off by its CID wing.
“On 2nd of March 2023, CID wing of J&K Police gave information to Police about the arrival of an impersonator in Kashmir. SSP Srinagar immediately sent a team led by SP East to the hotel. The particulars of this person were found as Kiran Bhai Patel son of Juddesh Bhai Patel resident of Ahmadabad Gujarat who was impersonating himself as Additional Director (Strategy and campaigns) PMO New Delhi”, reads a statement issued to GNS.
“As his replies were found suspicious, he was taken to Police Station Nishat wherein he admitted his crime. Ten fake visiting cards and two mobiles were seized from him”, the statement reads.
“Based upon this, a case vide FIR No. 19/2023 U/S 419,420,467,468, 471 of IPC was registered in Police Station Nishat on 02/03/2023 and investigation was taken up. A team of SP East Srinagar, SDPO Nehru Park, SHO Nishat are leading the investigation. The accused Kiran Bhai Patel was arrested on 03-03-2023 and is in police remand up to 17-03-2023. Many relevant persons have been examined in this case. Case is at the initial stage of investigation. Further details of this case will be shared later on.”

Man alleges few drunk passengers harassed others in Vistara flight

New Delhi: Unruly behaviour by some passengers inside the flight has refused to cease. In a recent such instance, a man complained of a few drunk passengers who were allegedly harassing others, including some women in a Vistara flight.
“Today travelled with Vistara UK256. And faced one of the worst experiences. Few passengers were totally drunk and harassing Ladies and other people Still they gave more drink. Crew: Shreya, Chaitali, charles didn’t control and ignored the situation,” said a passenger on Twitter handle Bhavitals.
“Instead of teaching lessons to such passengers they were totally ignored. Vistara is famous for premium service but today I lost #vistara. And during offboarding instead of being serious about the situation, the crew were laughing and saying “uska(drunk)to pent nikal gaya tha,” the passenger tweeted on March 12.
Responding to the tweets, the airline said, “Our crew is trained to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone on board. This sounds like an unforeseen event. We do not condone such behaviour and absolutely give our best to provide a comfortable journey to our customers.”
In the last two years since 2021, including the current year, a total of 139 incidents of unruly behaviour were reported to DGCA by various airlines.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), the civil aviation safety regulator, has issued Civil Aviation Requirements (CAR), Section 3- Air Transport, Series M, Part VI titled ‘Handling of unruly/disruptive passengers’ in order to ensure safety of the aircraft/persons/property on board and maintain good order and discipline on board the aircraft.

Hyderabad: Telangana saw a tragic incident yesterday, as heavy rainfall, hailstorm, and lightning were witnessed in the state. The lightning in Telangana claimed the life of a young tribal shepherd and over 40 sheep in the Nagarjunasagar mandal of Nalgonda district.
The young man named Saidanayak from Chintala Thanda used to make a living by rearing goats. He had taken the goats to the forest for grazing and stopped them under a tree after grazing since morning. While it was raining heavily, suddenly there was a thunderbolt with a loud noise. As a result, the young man and about 40 goats under the tree died on the spot due to lightning in Telangana.

The villagers came to know about the incident and reached the spot. Uncomfortable scenes of the disaster due to lightning in Telangana went viral on social media.
Though, it is important to stay indoors during lightning, even if caught outside during a thunderstorm, it is necessary to stay away from metal objects, water bodies, and electrical appliances.
Telangana to witness rainfall today
Today, Telangana is expected to witness heavy rainfall again. Although it is expected to be less intense than yesterday, people are advised to stay indoors during lightening and take necessary precautions to avoid any untoward incidents.
Lightning is a common occurrence during thunderstorms and can be dangerous.

2 Women enter into agreement’ to split days with a single man they love

Gwalior: A man and two women, including his first wife, have decided to live peacefully in two separate houses by dividing three days each of a week between them and also with the liberty to the man to spend the seventh day with the woman of his choice, said a lawyer associated with the family court in Gwalior city.
However, counsellor and advocate Harish Diwan termed the “agreement” between them illegal as per Hindu law.
The story of the two women and a man, who is an engineer, came to light when the man again entered into wedlock with a female colleague in Gurugram after he left his wife in Gwalior during the COVID-19 pandemic, Diwan said.
His first marriage took place in 2018 to a Gwalior-based woman and they lived together for two years. During COVID, he sent his wife to her parents’ home and went back to Gurugram, he said.
When he did not return till 2020 to take her legally wedded wife, she grew suspicious and went to his Gurugram office. She learnt that he had married a colleague and a girl was also born during the period, Diwan said.
The woman fought with the man publicly and protested in the office over his second marriage. She then approached a family court in Gwalior for justice, he said.
Later, her husband was summoned to Gwalior. Despite attempts to counsel him, the man refused to leave the second woman, Diwan said.
His wife as well as the second woman were counselled but they were not ready to understand, he said.

Later, the trio entered into an agreement according to which the man will spend three days of a week with his wife and another three with the woman he allegedly married, with the liberty to live with the woman of his choice on Sunday, Diwan said.
He provided a flat each to his wife as well as the other woman in Gurugram and also agreed to share his salary equally with them as per their agreement, Diwan said.
When asked whether this agreement has any legal sanctity, Diwan said, “This agreement was done between three of them with mutual consent. Neither the family court nor the councillor has any role in it.”
“In fact, the three were categorically told that they are Hindu and as per Hindu law, this agreement between them is illegal. As per the law, a Hindu man cannot marry another woman until he divorced his first wife in a legal manner, but they decided to go ahead with their pact,” Diwan added.
