Saudi Arabia extends deadline for Makkah Haj housing

    [ad_1]

Riyadh: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Haj Pilgrims Housing Committee in Makkah has extended the deadline for issuing housing permits until May 20.

The committee said that the relevant requests will continue until the end of the current month of Shawwal, which is expected to end on May 20.

The committee urged real estate owners interested in renting their homes for this purpose to review approved engineering offices to finalize the permits, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

    MS Education Academy

Applications are submitted by engineering offices accredited by Makkah Municipality and Civil Defence, who will examine those buildings to ensure they meet the required safety and health conditions.

As part of this process, the committee asked the owners who are interested in renting out their houses to accommodate pilgrims to comply with all safety requirements and apply for permits as soon as possible.

In December 2022, the committee began receiving applications for permits for buildings to be approved to house pilgrims for the upcoming Haj season and has since extended the deadline several times.

Haj pilgrimage to Makkah is a mandatory religious duty that must be performed by those Muslims who are physically and financially able to perform it at least once in a lifetime.

Saudi Arabia has announced that the minimum age for this year’s Haj is 12-year-old as the number of pilgrims returns to pre-pandemic levels.

Hyderabad: 2 shout ‘Jai Shree Ram’ slogan in Makkah Masjid, held

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: Two persons from Maharashtra who allegedly raised ‘Jai Sree Ram’ slogans at Makkah Masjid were taken into custody by the Hussainialam police on Thursday. This is the first time that such an incident has taken place inside the mosque, which is one of the largest historic Muslim place of worship in the city.

According to the police, three individuals Anmol, Vishal and Venkat had come to the Mecca Masjid in the afternoon on Thursday. After going inside, they raised “Jai Shree Ram” slogans, which today is a Hindutva war cry used in rallies, or during any anti-minority attack as well. Vishal is on the run.

On noticing it, the security personnel in the Makkah Masjid immediately took them into custody and alerted the Hussainialam police station. A police team took them into custody and is interrogating them.

    MS Education Academy

The police are making efforts to identify and arrest the other person who escaped from the spot. Security at the Mecca Masjid was beefed up following the incident. Senior police officials also visited the mosque, which is located in the Charminar area and is a major tourist attraction as well.

The Makkah Masjid in Hyderabad is a 17th-century mosque from the Golconda period (1518-1687). Its construction was initiated by Sultan Mohd Qutb Shah, the fifth monarch of the Qutb Shahi (or Golconda) dynasty (which also founded and built Hyderabad in 1591).

Sultan Mohd Qutb Shah was the nephew of Hyderabad’s founder Mohd Quli Qutb Shah. The former decided to construct the mosque for those who could not travel to Mecca for pilgrimage. According to legend, he reportedly managed to bring a brick from the Kaaba, which was part of the Makkah Masjid’s foundation in 1616, when the construction began.

However, it is said that Hyderabad’s founding prime minister Mir Momin Astrabadi prophesied that whoever completes the mosque would be the last king. Hence, Sultan Mohd Qutb Shah apparently abandoned his plans, which the next two kings of the Golconda kingdom tried to complete but failed.

By 1687 however, the Mughal empire under Aurangzeb undertook its southern expansion, and Hyderabad (Golconda kingdom) was the last Deccan state to fall to the north Indian empire. Hyderabad was almost entirely destroyed in the final siege in 1687. It was after that under the Mughals that the Makkah Masjid (that was spared) was completed by around 1695.

Abu Dhabi: United Arab Emirates (UAE) astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi, who is currently on a six-month space mission to the International Space Station (ISS) shared an incredible view of Saudi Arabia’s Makkah and Madinah.

Al Neyadi tweeted a video of the Kingdom’s holy sites on the 27th night of Ramzan, calling the footage “a gift for Salman’s children on these blessed nights”.

“A dedication to the country of the Two Holy Mosques, the landing site of revelation and the land of the message, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” he added.

    MS Education Academy

The video shows Makkah and Madinah completely lit up, and stunning images of the Grand Mosque.

Al Neyadi pans the camera over Madinah and says, “This is Madinah, the city to which Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) immigrated with his beloved people.”

Then he moves the camera to show Jeddah.

“This is the city of Jeddah, often referred to as the Bride of the Red Sea,” Al Neyadi says.

Then move the camera to show Makkah and says, “The holy city of Makkah, where the message of Islam was rooted with the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace.”

Al Neyadi then points to the light from the Grand Mosque in the city centre, which can be seen shining brightly in the video, even from space.

    Watch the video below

Al Neyadi’s special gift came as crowds of worshippers performed the Isha and Taraweeh prayers on Monday at the Grand Mosque to glorify the 27th night of Ramzan, while also celebrating the last ten days of Ramzan, which many Muslims consider the most blessed.

Emirati astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi made history on March 2 by becoming the first Arab to join a long-term space mission that will last six months as part of SpaceX’s crew.

The mission is a historic landmark for the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The SpaceX Dragon spacecraft, named Endeavor, aboard a Falcon 9 rocket, carried the Emirati astronaut along with two NASA astronauts, Mission Commander Stephen Bowen, Pilot Warren Hoburg, and Roscosmos Cosmonaut Andrey Fedyaev.

Sultan Al Neyadi will be the first Arab to walk in space when he exits the International Space Station on April 28.

Riyadh: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) has announced that Makkah buses set a new record after the number of its users exceeded 50 million since its launch in mid-February 2022 until April 2023, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

The Royal Commission for the Holy City of Makkah and Holy Sites announced 50 million, as a new number, after it achieved last December 2022 an increase of 71 percent, reaching 25 million passengers, compared to the expected estimates of bus users for the entire year.

  • 80% rise in Makkah hotel occupancy rate in Ramzan, highest in 3 years

80% rise in Makkah hotel occupancy rate in Ramzan, highest in 3 years

    [ad_1]

Riyadh: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s hotel and accommodation sector witnessed a significant resurgence, with room occupancy in Makkah reaching 80 percent during Ramzan 2023, the highest level in three years, local media reported.

This resulted in room rates also climbing to record levels due to high demand, especially during the last 10 days of the Ramzan.

Arabic daily Al-Eqtisadiah, quotes Abdullah Al-Qadi, head of the Haj and Umrah Committee at the Makkah Chamber, as saying that hotel prices in Makkah, in particular, are subject to certain criteria, topped by supply and demand, proximity to the Haram, views, and services provided.

    MS Education Academy

He pointed out that what distinguishes the prices of Makkah hotels is that they are “like the prices of airline tickets, specifically hotels in the central region, where prices rise gradually when the season approaches, and double in the last ten days.”

The prices of hotel rooms in the central region of Makkah Al-Mukarramah during the last ten days range between 3000-9000 Saudi riyals (Rs 65,452 to 1,96,358) per day.

This year’s Ramzan season also saw a huge turnout, especially with the opening of visas and the facilities the Kingdom offers to pilgrims from abroad.

On Sunday, April 2, the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque revealed that more than 9 million pilgrims and worshippers benefited from the various voluntary services provided by its teams to those who visit the Grand Mosque during the first ten days of the blessed month of Ramzan.

The expansions in the Grand Mosque, which the Kingdom adopted, contributed to accommodating the large numbers of pilgrims and worshippers.

  • Akhand Hindu Rashtra dream must reach Makkah: Yati Narsinghanand

Akhand Hindu Rashtra dream must reach Makkah: Yati Narsinghanand

    [ad_1]

The 58-year-old head of Dasna Devi temple in Uttar Pradesh, Yati Narsinghanand Saraswati, delivered a hate speech recently at a two-day event named Hindu Jagruti Samelan (Awakening the Kshatriya) organised by Nyay Manch Trust in Noida between April 1 and 2.

The video has gone viral in social media with many condemning the right-wing leader’s Islamophobic remarks and intentional targeting of Prophet Muhammad.

Yati claimed that there is a Shiv temple beneath the Kaaba, Islam’s holiest site.

    MS Education Academy

“Akhand Hindu Rashtra was the dream of Veer Savarkar and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. This dream should not be restricted to Afghanistan but we should work hard till Hindutva reaches Makkah and Kaaba,” Yati alleges.

“The Zamzam water that flows in the Kaaba is actually the holy Ganges,” he claimed which was followed by a few claps.

“If we (Hindus) fail to overpower Makkah, then there is no force in this world that can weaken Islam,” Yati said.

Aapko (Hindus) Makkeshwar Mahadev ko jeetna hee padega (We have to win over Makeshwar Mahadev),” Yati said and added that Makkah is the root cause for ‘cancer’, pointing at Islam, metaphorically.

Indirectly referring to ‘love jihad‘, Yati said that Hindu women should be protected at all costs to save Sanatan Dharma.

“If you are not vigilant in saving Hindutva, then remember that every temple will be razed to dust, and every Hindu woman, including our daughters, will be raped and sold as sex slaves by them (referring to Muslims). This is their only motto in life,” Yati said.

The event that was streamed on Youtube appealed to its viewers to donate for Hindu Rashtra. “Nyay Manch wants to groom 500 social media influencers to raise their voice for ‘Ghar Waapsi’. After this, these people will reach this target of 50,000 people. This is how these waves will move forward,” the Nyay Manch bio stated.

    Nyay Manch

Freelance journalist Alishan Jafri shared the video and tagged foreign minister S Jaishankar asking him to take action on hate speeches rather than face embarrassment on a global level while representing India.

“He’s talking about the Holy Kaaba in a hateful way. @DrSJaishankar is wise enough to know that this may not be received well internationally. Instead of firefighting diplomatic flak and embarrassment like last time, it would be appreciated if action is taken when Indians flag it,” the journalist tweeted.
