Militancy Case: NIA Raids 12 Different Locations Across JK

Srinagar, May 02: National Investigation Agency is presently carrying out raids at different locations across Jammu and Kashmir at 12 locations on Tuesday morning.
A top officer told GNS that the searches are underway in Awantipora, Pulwama, Anantnag and Srinagar in the Valley. while raids are also underway in Jammu and Poonch districts.
The searches are carried against OGWs of different militant outfits in connection with the militancy case, the officer added.
When this report was filed, the searches were underway. It was not immediately revealed whether any arrested has been culminated so far.(GNS)

NIA raids underway at 17 locations of banned PFI

New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday conducted raids at 17 locations across the country of the banned organisation Popular Front of India (PFI) in connection with a terror case.
According to sources, the searches that began early this morning were on in the states of Bihar, UP, Punjab and Goa.
An official communication by the probe agency is awaited.

The Ministry of Home Affairs had on September 28 declared the Popular Front of India (PFI) and its eight affiliates “unlawful associations” for five years under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967.
The ban came shortly after the NIA, ED and various state police forces carried out a coordinated nationwide crackdown on the PFI.
In 2019, the Uttar Pradesh government sought a ban on the PFI for its alleged involvement in anti-CAA protests in parts of the state.
The Central government’s ban on the PFI was imposed on several counts centred on terror, including terror funding and training. Consequently, hundreds of its leaders have been apprehended in the past few days.
As per the sources, the specific reasons for the Union government to ban the outfit pertains to the PFI’s efforts to “radicalise” vulnerable people of a community, its links to other terrorist organisations, including the IS, and more significantly, posing a threat to India’s internal security by way of involvement in major violent incidents that point at the PFI.

CBI searches 12 locations over illegal sale of reserved railway seats

New Delhi: The CBI has conducted searches at 12 locations in different states in connection with its ongoing probe in alleged illegal sale of reserved seats through IRCTC website, officials said Thursday.
The operation was spread across Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Delhi, they said.
“During searches, digital devices, mobile phones containing the illegal software, incriminating documents and other details including tickets of passengers booked earlier using illegal software were recovered, ” the CBI Spokesperson said.

The CBI had registered the case on March 2, 2021 against unidentified person who were claiming to provide confirmed ‘tatkal’ seats (emergency tickets) using a software and mobile application, they said.
“It was found that the agents were allegedly using illegal software to bypass the manual entry process for purchasing tickets, which were sold to travellers at a premium. The CBI identified the agents involved in this illegal activity and conducted simultaneous searches. The person responsible for selling and distributing the illegal software to various agents was also identified,” the CBI Spokesperson said.

SRINAGAR: State Investigation Agency (SIA) Kashmir carried out raids at six locations in central and north Kashmir parts on Tuesday morning as part of its investigation of a militancy funding case registered at SIA Kashmir.
Quoting an official, news agency Kashmir Dot Com reported that sleuths of the investigating agency with the assistance of the local police and the CRPF carried out raids at six locations. The searches are being carried out in districts of Srinagar, Baramulla and Kupwara, he said.
The searches are being carried out in a militancy funding registered case under FIR no 22/2022 of police station CIK/SIA Kashmir, the official said, adding that further details of the raids will be shared later.
In Srinagar, the searches were carried out at the residences of two Hurriyat leaders identified as Bilal Ahmad Sidique and Bashir Molvi.

SRINAGAR: The State Investigation Agency (SIA) is carrying out raids at multiple locations in central and south Kashmir districts as part of investigation with regard to a case registered at SIA.
Quoting sources news agency KNO reported that the sleuths of the investigating agency with the assistance of the local police and the CRPF carried out raids in summer capital Srinagar, Anantnag, Kulgam, Shopian and other districts.
He said the SIA raided the residence of Sarjan Ahmed Wagay alias Barkati son of Abdul Raziq Wagay, a resident of Reben Zainapora in Shopian district.
He said raids are being conducted in connection with a case already registered at the SIA. “The details of the case will be shared later,” he said.

NIA Raids Multiple Locations In JK, Punjab

SRINAGAR: The National investigation Agency on Wednesday said it conducted searches at multiple locations in Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab in a militancy related case.
Quoting a statement, news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) reported that in June 2022, NIA had registered a suo-moto case against OGWs and cadres of various proscribed outfits and their affiliates, who were operating under various pseudo names on the commands of their Pakistani handlers.
The statement said that in follow up operations in 2022, searches were conducted at 14 locations in 6 districts of Jammu and Kashmir, including Srinagar, Baramula, Pulwama, Anantnag, Budgam and Kathua.
“The case relates to terror conspiracy hatched by Pakistan based commanders of proscribed militant organisations to radicalize youth of JK and target members of minority communities, security personnel and religious events and activities. The accused were also found involved in spreading terror in JK over cyber-space,” it read.
The statement reads during investigations, 12 suspects were identified who were in touch with different Pakistan based handlers.
“Searches were conducted at 11 locations belonging to the suspects in Kulgam, Shopian, Pulwama, Anantnag and 1 location in Fatehgarh Sahib, Punjab in case RC-05/2022/NIA/JMU. Digital devices and incriminating material were seized from these locations yesterday.
Further investigations in the case are in progress,” it read.

NIA Raids Six Locations In Kashmir

SRINAGAR: The National Investigation Agency on Tuesday carried out searches at several locations in the Kashmir Valley in a case related to militant conspiracy.
Quoting an official, news agency KNO reported that the NIA raids were underway at six locations in the Kashmir Valley.
He said the case was filed last year alleging criminal conspiracy for carrying out militant and subversive activities hatched by the cadres and OGWs of various proscribed organisations and their affiliates and off-shoots, operating under various pseudo names, at the behest of their Pakistani handlers.
The official said the suspects are involved in carrying out attacks by using cyber-space in JK, targeting of minorities, security personnel and spreading communal disharmony.
“Initial searches carried out last year had led to seizure of digital devices which were analysed forensically. Current searches are based on those leads,” he said.
Searches were underway at different locations in Srinagar, Kulgam, Pulwama, Anantnag and Shopian. (KNO)
