Bengaluru: The Congress on Saturday lodged a complaint against Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Bengaluru for his statement linking the party (Congress) with terrorism.

The delegation headed by former Lok Sabha Speaker Meera Kumar and senior Congress leader Dinesh Gundu Rao lodged the complaint at High Grounds police station in Bengaluru and demanded lodging of FIR and investigation.

The Congress leaders claimed that PM Modi stated at a public rally while campaigning in Karnataka that the Congress party is supporting terrorism and demanded legal action against him.

Dinesh Gundu Rao, speaking to reporters after lodging complaint, charged “No Prime Minister of the country has given such a speech. The intention of PM Modi’s speech is to provoke communal feelings. He has used lowly language.”

He further stated that PM Modi claimed falsely that the Congress party is linked to terrorism. “This is a violation of the People’s Representation Act.”

“The Election Commission should also initiate action against him for his speech. If PM Modi has documents and gumption, let him prove the links of Congress party with terrorism. Otherwise PM Modi will have to tender an apology,” Dinesh Gundu Rao said.

Salman objects to social media users still linking Shehnaaz & Sidharth

    [ad_1]

Mumbai: Bollywood star Salman Khan has asked social media users who keep talking about Shehnaaz Gill and the late Sidharth Shukla and tag them as ‘SidNaaz’ to stop doing that and let Shehnaaz move on in life.

Appearing on ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ along with the ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’ cast, Salman said Sidharth is no more and now it is time for Shehnaaz to have her own life and find love if she wants to.

Shehnaaz cannot just remain unmarried forever, Salman said.

    MS Education Academy

“Even Sidharth would have wanted her to move on and start a family,” he added.

“Par social media pe yeh kuchh log jo SidNaaz, SidNaaz karte rahte hain, zindagi bhar yeh kunwari rahegi kya? (Some people on social media keep troubling her, saying SidNaaz, SidNaaz. Will she remain single for the rest of her life?),” commented an irate Salman.

Continuing in the same vein, he said: “Yeh jitney bhi SidNaaz, SidNaaz karte hain, inmein se kisi ek ko chunliya toh woh abhi kahega haan mai tumhara hun. Kya bakwaas baatien hai yeh, kisi ki sunna nahi sirf apne dil ki suno and move on in life. (If she chooses one among those SidNaaz fans, they will happily accept her as life partner. All of this is nonsense. Don’t listen to them, listen to your heart and move on in life).”

Come Eid and Shehnaaz will be seen in ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’ along with Salman and a trio of Telugu stars — Venkatesh Daggubati, Pooja Hegde and Jagapathi Babu — as well as Raghav Juyal, Palak Tiwari, Jassi Gill, Siddharth Nigam, Vinali Bhatnagar and Sukhbir.

They came on the show to promote the film.

WhatsApp has launched the functionality to link an existing WhatsApp account to an additional mobile phone for all beta testers on Android. According to WhatsApp tracker WABetaInfo, this feature is an extension of multi-device support.

After linking an existing WhatsApp account to a secondary mobile phone, users can finally access their chats on the second device without requiring an active Internet connection on the main phone. Initially, the companion mode was only available to a select group of beta testers,” WABetaInfo reported. The function was first introduced in November 2022 as a major update of WhatsApp beta for Android.

As of now, the secondary device can only be an Android phone. However, users can connect Android as the secondary device to iPhones. Users can access chat history through linked devices. However, they cannot manage broadcast links and status updates through the secondary device.

Steps to link an Android device

    • Step 1: On your secondary Android mobile phone, download the latest beta of WhatsApp Messenger or WhatsApp Business from the Google Play Store.
    • Step 2: Tap the overflow menu within the registration screen and you should finally see the option “Link a device”.
    • Step 3: Open WhatsApp on your primary device. Head to Settings and Linked devices.

  • Iraq, Turkey to build transportation corridor linking Basra to Turkish border

Iraq, Turkey to build transportation corridor linking Basra to Turkish border

    [ad_1]

Ankara: Turkey and Iraq will build a land and railroad transportation corridor stretching from the Iraqi province of Basra to the Turkish border, Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said.

“We have tasked our minister friends, who will carry out the works for materialising the Development Road Project, extending from Basra to Turkey,” Erdogan said at a joint press conference with visiting Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ al-Sudani on Tuesday.

“I believe that we will transform the Development Road Project into the new Silk Road of our region,” the Turkish President added.

Moreover, Turkey will increase the amount of water released from the Tigris river to help Iraq tackle its water shortage, he said.

Baghdad has been urging Ankara to secure Iraqi water share from the Tigris and Euphrates rivers which originate from Turkey, as Iraq often suffers from drought, Xinhua news agency reported.

In their talks, the two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to fighting against all forms of terrorism, Erdogan said.

“Our expectation from our Iraqi brothers is that they shall designate the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) as a terrorist organisation and clear their lands of this bloodshedder terrorist organisation,” Erdogan added.

Al-Sudani, for his part, underlined that his government will not allow Iraqi lands to become a “point to launch attacks” against its neighbour.

“Security of Turkey and security of Iraq are inseparable,” he said.

The security officials of the two countries exchanged information on the issue during talks in the capital Ankara, al-Sudani added.

The PKK, listed as a terrorist organisation by Turkey, the US and the EU, has been rebelling against the Turkish government for more than three decades. It has been using Iraq’s Qandil Mountains as its main base for years.
