Limit to even transparency in ‘New India’: Cong on PM’s degree case

    [ad_1]

New Delhi: The Congress on Friday took a swipe at the government, saying there is a limit to even transparency in ‘New India’, after the Gujarat High Court set aside an order of the Central Information Commission asking the Gujarat University to provide information on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s degree.

The high court set aside the seven-year-old order of the commission, asking the varsity to provide information on prime minister’s degree to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

Allowing the Gujarat University’s appeal against the Central Information Commission (CIC) order, Justice Biren Vaishnav also imposed a cost of Rs 25,000 on Kejriwal and asked him to deposit the amount within four weeks to the Gujarat State Legal Services Authority (GSLSA).

Reacting to the verdict, Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh in a tweet in Hindi said, “There is a limit to even transparency in New India. This is what the ‘Entire Political Science’ teaches.”

Asked about the issue at a press conference, Congress’ media and publicity department head Pawan Khera said, “See, why this matter went to the court. Courts have lot of pressure… PM’s educational qualification, whether his degree is genuine or not, this matter going to a court is astonishing.”

“It’s a matter of paradox in India, in a country where four crore cases are pending in courts, a hearing is happening on the prime minister’s degree. So, why this situation came up, we need to understand. ‘Entire Political Science’, I haven’t heard of it, if you have heard about it, please tell me,” Khera told reporters in response to a query.

“Even if today such a degree is offered then, I would like to take it,” he said.

WhatsApp rolling out limit polls to only one choice feature on Android

    [ad_1]

New Delhi: Meta-owned WhatsApp is reportedly rolling out a new feature that will let poll creators limit users to only one choice, which is available for some beta testers on Android.

According to WABetaInfo, this feature will allow users to select only one option which they feel most strongly about.

The report also said that this feature is helpful as it will make the poll results more accurate as users are limited to one choice.

Moreover, this is even useful in cases where only one answer is required. This is because when users must choose just one option, they are more likely to engage with the poll and think more deeply about their choice.

The report also said that the feature was also in development for iOS, and after installing the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS update, some beta testers may be able to use this feature.

Meanwhile, WhatsApp is also rolling out a tweaked link preview interface on iOS beta.

For beta testers, a new row will now appear above the chat bar when a link is entered into the platform, and the application will animate the row while loading the link preview.

Earlier, users had no indication whether the platform was loading the preview or not, which undoubtedly caused confusion and wasted time while they waited for it to arrive.

UPI Transaction Limit: UPI (Unified Payments Interface) is at the forefront of online transactions. The use of UPI has increased very fast for any purchase or transaction and it is so easy. Small to big transactions done in just a few clicks.

We have become so dependent on UPI Payment Apps for our every transaction that we do many transactions in a day and then it is known that we have crossed the day’s transaction limit. But what is the transaction limit of UPI in a day? This question often comes in front of the customers and now it has been raised in the Parliament as well.

Question raised in Parliament regarding UPI Transaction Limit

Lok Sabha MP Dushyant Singh asked in a written question in Parliament whether there is any limit on the number of online transactions that can be done through a bank on UPI payment apps like Paytm, Google Pay and PhonePe in a day? Along with this, he asked some more questions, such as what are the details of this limit rule, what are the reasons for it? Do public sector banks only apply this limit? Will this hinder the Digital India mission or will the government consider removing these rules?

What was the government’s reply on UPI Transaction Limit?

Minister of State for IT Rajeev Chandrasekhar said that yes there is a limit on the number of online payments or transactions that can be done through the bank in a single day on the use of UPI payment. According to the latest guidelines issued by NPCI (National Payment Corporation of India) on January 10, 2023, only 20 transactions can be done in a 24-hour period from a bank account in P2P ie person-to-person category.

In which the time of the first transaction will be considered as the starting time. This limit has been fixed to protect the customer from possible financial fraud and to comply with the standards for the use of UPI.

In his written reply, the Union Minister said that this limit is applicable to public sector banks including member banks in the UPI UCO-system. The UPI limit is revised from time to time by NPCI to increase customer adoption of UPI and increase the penetration of digital payments.

  • Saudi Arabia: No limit on number of times pilgrims can perform Umrah

Saudi Arabia: No limit on number of times pilgrims can perform Umrah

    [ad_1]

Riyadh: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) said there is no maximum or minimum limit on the number of times for a piligrim to perform Umrah in the kingdom, local media reported.

“However, it is mandatory to comply with the directive to take an appointment for the specific time for performing the pilgrimage,” the Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Haj and Umrah said while replying to queries.

The ministry stressed the importance of adhering to guidelines for making an appointment to perform the pilgrimage.

The ministry said that whoever arrived in the Kingdom on a visit, tourist or work visa can perform Umrah.

The pilgrim can also change the means of transportation he used for his arrival while leaving the kingdom.

In January 2023, Saudi Arabia launched a stopover transit visa that allows the holder to perform Umrah, visit the Prophet’s Mosque, and attend various events across the kingdom. The four-day transit visa is valid for 90 days.

In recent months, Saudi Arabia has unveiled a range of facilities for Muslims wishing to come to the country to perform the Umrah.

Umrah is an Islamic pilgrimage to Makkah for Muslims, which can be performed at any time of the year. It consists of performing rituals in the Masjid Al Haram. In other words, one performs Umrah to rid the soul of past sins.
