Bhansali was admired for his recent film ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ everywhere and it was reported that he is planning to direct the remake of the 1952 film ‘Baiju Bawra’. The director, according to latest rumours has now dropped the idea of going ahead with the remake of Meena Kumari’s classic ‘Baiju Bawra’ in which Ranveer Singh was all set to play the role.
Rumours mills suggest that SLB is planning to work with Shah Rukh Khan on a new project or he will make ‘Inshallah’ with Salman Khan. As Ranveer Singh’s latest film proved to be a disaster at the box office, SLB might be thinking of bringing the actor on board for his next project. Now, speculations are rife that either Salman or SRK will be seen in the renowned director’s next venture.
A report in ETimes also suggests that the remake of ‘Baiju Bawra’ needed a lot of finance which was not viable for any producer or studio to back it at this point of time when Bollywood is in a state of transition and crisis both.
On the professional front, Sanjay Leela Bhansali is currently gearing up for the release of his OTT debut series Heeramandi on Netflix.

Mumbai: Popular Bollywood filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali is known for making epic masterpieces like Devdas, Black, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Padmaavat, Bajirao Mastani etc. Every actor or actress wants to work in his film as his films help most of the B-town celebrities to get more fame but, do you know why one of the most successful actresses, Kareena Kapoor Khan is never seen in SLB’s films.
Everything was normal between the two but before the release of Devdas 2002 but it is reported that Kareena started hating the versatile director after Aishwarya Rai was preferred over her for the role of ‘Paro’. She accused SLB of not casting her as ‘Paro’ in Devdas. Kareena said that despite screen-testing her, SLB offered the role to Aishwarya. “I was hurt as it was the beginning of my career and I will now never work with him ever again,” Kareena Kapoor said at that time.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali was once asked what happened to him when he decided to offer the role of ‘Paro’ to Aishwarya Roy instead of Kareena Kapoo to which he replied in a very comfortable way. He said, “She came to my house with Neeta Lulla and said she wanted to work with me… I told her that I hadn’t seen her work and that before casting her, I needed to see what she was capable of. We fixed up a photo shoot with the right costumes. Since Babitaji and Karisma Kapoor were also at the shoot, I made it clear to all of them that the shoot wasn’t a confirmation that I would cast Kareena. They were okay with that at the time. After going through the photographs, I told Kareena that I felt Aishwarya Rai was fabulous and perfect for Paro; she has the aristocratic looks I required.” cited Koimoi.com.
“Kareena didn’t say a word then but some days later I found her lashing out at me in print. She accused me of backing out after having given her the signing amount and contract,” he further said.
Despite not having appeared in any of the Sanjay Leela Bhansali film, fans are still eagerly anticipating the possibility of seeing Bebo in one of his upcoming projects. Let’s wait and see.

Delhi: Man impersonates UAE govt official, cheats Leela Palace Hotel for Rs 23L

New Delhi: The man, who impersonated a UAE government functionary and duped The Leela Palace Hotel in the national capital of Rs 23 lakh after fleeing without paying the bills, was finally arrested by the Delhi Police from Karnataka.
A senior police official said that the accused, identified as Mohammed Sharif, 41, stayed at The Leela Palace Hotel in the Sarojini Nagar area for three months and then fled without settling his outstanding bills of more than Rs 23 lakh. He also stole some hotel valuables.
The accused was arrested on January 19 from Dakshina Kannada district of Karnataka.
Sharif stayed at the hotel from August 1, 2022, till November 20, 2022, and escaped without settling a bill of Rs 23,46,413, as per the hotel staff.
According to the FIR accessed by IANS, the man checked into the hotel with a fake business card and posed as an important functionary of the government of UAE office of His Highness Sheikh Falah Bin Zayed AL Nahyan.
“He also gave a resident card of the United Arab Emirates on arrival. It seems the guest purposely gave these cards to create a false image and garner extra trust with an intent to cheat/deceive the hotel at a later stage,” stated the FIR.
“The man had also made a few part settlements in the month of August and September 2022 worth Rs 11.5 lakh for room charges, the total outstanding still stands at INR 23,48,413 against which he had issued us a post-dated cheque worth INR 20 lakh due for November 21, 2022, which was duly submitted to our bank on September 22, 2022, but due to insufficient funds, the cheque bounced,” read the FIR.
“On November 20, 2022, around 1 p.m., the man fled with hotel valuables and this seems to be completely pre-planned since we were under the impression that by November 22, 2022 hotel will get the dues cleared through the cheque he had submitted,” read the FIR.

Based on the complaint, the Delhi Police registered an FIR on January 13 under sections 419 (punishment for cheating by personation), 420 (cheating), and 380 (theft in dwelling house, etc.,) of the Indian Penal Code.
Further investigation in the matter is on.
