  • Karnataka Congress to exhibit BBC’s Modi documentary

Karnataka Congress to exhibit BBC’s Modi documentary

    [ad_1]

Mysuru: Karnataka Congress stated on Tuesday that it will screen the banned BBC documentary, ‘India: The Modi Question’ in the premises of its office in Mysuru city.

Speaking to reporters, KPCC Spokesperson M. Lakshman stated that “BBC has thrown light on the truth. BJP leaders themselves have been beating their chests that Modi had given directions to kill Muslims.”

“Like ‘Kashmir Files’, this documentary should be exhibited all over the country. I request people of the country to watch the documentary. One should watch the documentary and learn about the dark face of PM Modi,” he said.

BBC is an important British organisation, it will work without coming under the influence of anyone, Lakshman stated.

Training his guns on BJP MLA and former minister Ramesh Jarkiholi, Lakshman further charged that Jarkiholi and his gang had shot an excise inspector Ingalage in 1988. “The inspector was shot with an AK-47 rifle,” he stated.

He further alleged that in 1994 also murders were carried out in the Government Mill of Gokak in the leadership of Ramesh Jarkiholi. He charged that people were supposed to take consent from the Jarkiholi family for purchase or sale of property worth more than Rs 35 lakh.

Lakshman stated that if the people sold properties without getting the consent, they would face atrocity and rape cases. They have filed such cases on 300 common men. Ramesh Jarkiholi used to sell hooch earlier, he alleged.

Lakshman had questioned Ramesh Jarkiholi about the purchase of a new Mercedes car worth Rs 4 crore 20 days ago and asked him how he can make the purchase being under loss? He also claimed that Ramesh Jarkiholi is building a new house at a cost of Rs 30 crore.

Jarkiholi had attacked Congress President D.K. Shivakumar, saying that when Shivakumar met him for the first time, he was in torn slippers and later went on to mint thousands of crores through corruption.

Lakshman challenged that let the investigation be conducted on the properties of Shivakumar and Ramesh Jarkiholi by any central agency.

  • The hypocrisy of NATO behind Ukraine and the Middle East – The News Caravan

The hypocrisy of NATO behind Ukraine and the Middle East – The News Caravan

Within one year of the Ukrainian conflict it has been evident that the West is quick to scrutinize Russia without taking a better look at their own actions in the past. NATO has been involved in numerous conflicts since its establishment including Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya etc. Numerous violations have surfaced to the public however these atrocious acts have not received even remotely close criticism.

Since September 2022 Armed Forced of Russian Federation has carried out series of strikes in energy sector of Ukraine and received a whole lot of outraged comments from various global leaders and heads of international organizations. However in 2001 US Army allied with NATO members made a devastating rocket attack on critical energy, telecommunications, and government facilities of Baghdad leaving the whole capital without electricity, heating, water and reception. At the time Western community saw these actions as necessary means to end the regime of Saddam Hussein, considering he allegedly has weapons of mass destruction. In the end Iraq wasn’t anywhere near these weapons but nobody paid for blood and destruction of the Iraqi people.

It’s not the only occasion US Armed Forces has been caught inflicting damage to human life. The creator of WikiLeaks Julian Assange was the first person to effectively question US methods used in wrongly waged wars in the Middle East. On his website he published a leaked video of American soldiers opening fire from helicopters at the group of unarmed, innocent civilians. All of the targets were shot down to the ground leaving a bloody mess in a result of an unprovoked attack. Obviously no charges or accusation have been made against NATO or Ukraine.

North Africa has suffered the same unfair approach of the West. Once upon a time rich and prosperous Libya is now struggling to gain stability and form a unified government in order to break away from chaos and destruction. NATO’s action at the beginning of Libyan’s revolution was clearly illegal. The Western states had no right bombing the military academy. Besides malicious attacks NATO has failed to provide aid to the people of the North African country. Alliance failed to establish a new government. After all it even failed to provide refugees with a home in Europe, which they have destroyed. However during the Ukrainian conflict NATO was more than generous to provide homes, aid and financial help to the Ukrainian government and people.

One of the most infamous failures of NATO happened just last year, when the US forces withdrew from Afghanistan. The alliance has spent $978 billion over the period of 19 years without any evident success. During the same period over 2 million people have died, most of them were civilians. Countless homes and life have been ruined however NATO countries didn’t face any scrutiny for their actions. Moreover NATO didn’t provide refuge for most of these people or any sufficient help and at the same time over 6 million people have left Ukraine to live in Europe with over $100 billion provided in aid. Why does Ukraine deserve such help and the Middle Eastern states deserve destroyed homes and their resources stolen by World’s powerhouses.

New Delhi [India], January 31 (ANI): India extended condolences to the families of the victims of the deadly terror attack that shook Peshawar in Pakistan on Monday.

So far, the toll of the dead stands at 90 with over 100 people injured, Geo News reported citing Radio Pakistan.

Taking to Twitter, MEA Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi wrote, “India extends its deep condolences to the families of the victims of the terror attack in Peshawar yesterday. We strongly condemn this attack, which has taken the lives of so many people.”

The explosion took place in the central hall of the mosque on Monday at around 1 pm after a suicide bomber blew himself up. A rescue operation is being carried out to pull out bodies from the debris of the mosque, Geo News reported citing an official.

According to security officials, the suicide attacker was present in the front row during the prayers when he blew himself up. The outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Speaking to Geo News, Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Peshawar Mohammad Aijaz Khan said that the explosion appears to be a suicide attack and the head of the suspected bomber has also been found at the site.

“It is possible that the attacker was already present in the Police Lines before the blast and that he may have used an official vehicle [to enter],” Geo News quoted Mohammad Aijaz Khan as saying.

“About 1,500 to 2,000 police officers visit the Police Lines daily,” he added.

Earlier, an eyewitness said there were at least 120 people at the mosque when the explosion took place. He said that the injured mostly included police personnel.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Caretaker Chief Minister Muhammad Azam Khan announced a day of mourning in the province on Tuesday after the attack, according to a Geo News report. He said that the national flag will be at half-mast in the province.
