Samantha to walk out of Kushi? Here’s what we know

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: ‘Kushi’ is Tollywood‘s most anticipated film which features Vijay Devarakonda and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the lead roles. Fans are eagerly awaiting their on-screen chemistry and are eagerly anticipating updates on the film. Unfortunately, various incidents have caused delays in the film’s production, adding more to the anticipation.

The movie shoot for Kushi was temporarily halted due to Samantha’s health issues, but it has yet to resume. Rumors are circulating in the Telugu media that Samantha has requested script changes, while the director, Shiva Nirvana, is unwilling to make changes and is also requesting new schedule regulations, which could be contributing to the delay. Speculations were also rife that Sam might quit project if the makers fail to fulfill her demands.

However, Samantha’s team has quashed all the ‘false’ rumours. They said that Samantha will shoot for her OTT series Citadel for eleven days, and once she is done with that, Sam will head straight to the sets of Kushi in Hyderabad.

The film director Shiva too took to his social media page and wrote, “#khushi regular shoot will start very soon everything is going to be beautiful”.

On the other hand, Samantha is also busy with her new Telugu film, Shakunthalam, directed by Gunasekhar. She is playing a princess in this film, which will be released on February 17.

  • If in power, we promise ST status to Valmiki community: Nara Lokesh

If in power, we promise ST status to Valmiki community: Nara Lokesh

    [ad_1]

Palamaner: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) national general secretary Nara Lokesh, on the sixth day of his pada yatra ‘Yuva Galam’, met the Valmiki community leaders at Belupalle, and promised the Scheduled Tribes (STs) status if his party is voted top power.

Addressing the Valmiki community leaders, Lokesh said chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy had deceived them by not fulfilling his promises.

“The government has been unresponsive to include the Valmikis into the Scheduled Tribes (STs). They suffer from unemployment forcing them to migrate to neighbouring states like Karnataka and Tamil Nadu,” Lokesh said.

Lokesh pointed out that it was during Chandrababu Naidu’s tenure as chief minister of the state when the Satyapal Committee was formed to study the issues of the Valimiki community. A resolution was passed in 2017 to include them in the STs list.

“During the TDP regime, loans were sanctioned to the community members on subsidy but the current state government did not sanction a single loan to the Valmiki community,” he said.

Lokesh promised that separate companies will be set up in this area to provide employment to those belonging to the Valmiki community.

He also met sugarcane farmers at Sake Vuru of Baireddipalle Mandal.

Interacting with them, Lokesh promised all possible assistance, including the supply of quality fertilisers and pesticides, and a decrease in labour charges

Protest against anti-encroachment drive in Jammu locality continues

    [ad_1]

Jammu: Thousands of people, including women and children, hit the streets in Sunjwan-Bathindi on the city’s outskirts against the Jammu and Kashmir administration’s ongoing anti-encroachment drive to retrieve “illegally occupied” state land.

The residents’ protest comes in the backdrop of the authorities serving public notices asking violators to remove illegal constructions within seven days, officials said.

The protesters also observed a complete shutdown in the area.

Waving Tricolours and shouting slogans against the eviction drive, the protesters passed the main roads before staging a peaceful sit-in at a vast land adjoining the bypass.

Police were deployed in large numbers as a precautionary measure to maintain law and order.

The sub-divisional magistrate was seen requesting the protesters to disperse on the assurance that no residential homes would be demolished. He added that the district administration was ready to listen to their grievances.

Representatives of almost all major political parties, including the National Conference, Congress, People’s Democratic Party, Apni Party and the AAP, also joined the protest and demanded an immediate end to the “anti-people” drive.

The residents also staged a protest in the area on January 30 and had threatened to intensify their agitation if the government went ahead with the demolition drive.

  • Biggest day of industrial action in Britain as teachers, workers strike over pay

Biggest day of industrial action in Britain as teachers, workers strike over pay

    [ad_1]

London: Britain on Wednesday faced what has been dubbed the biggest industrial action in a decade as teachers, university lecturers, train and bus drivers and public sector workers went on a strike to demand better pay conditions.

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s official spokesperson admitted that the mass strike action will prove “very difficult” for the public.

Teachers in England and Wales who are members of the National Education Union (NEU) are staging walkouts, affecting an estimated 23,000 schools. Estimates suggest around 85 per cent of schools in the regions will be fully or partially closed, impacting working parents over childcare.

UK Education Secretary Gillian Keegan has insisted that “inflation-busting” pay rises are impossible even as talks remain ongoing.

“I am disappointed that it has come to this, that the unions have made this decision. It is not a last resort. We are still in discussions,” the minister said.

Train drivers from the RMT and Aslef workers’ unions are staging a strike in their long-running dispute over pay and conditions, including bus drivers in London. Around 100,000 civil servants employed in 124 government departments and other public sector bodies are also on strike in a dispute over better pay and working conditions.

Workers’ unions have argued with employers for higher pay rises to combat record-high inflation and real-term cuts in income over the past decade.

But ministers continue to insist increasing wages to higher levels would only fuel the cost-of-living crisis and hamper the Sunak-led government’s top priority of cutting down soaring inflation over the coming weeks and months.

Further health sector strikes are planned next week, when nurses and ambulance workers take another round of strike action from February 6 over better wages and working conditions.
