Telangana: KCR asks CS Shanti Kumari to assess crop damage due to rains

Hyderabad: Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao asked state chief secretary A Santhi Kumari to start examining the damage caused by unseasonal rainfall in various regions, particularly Choppadandi and Karimnagar rural mandals.
He asked her to communicate with district collectors about agricultural damage caused by unseasonal rainfall and to compile reports so that further action could be taken.

Unseasonal rainfall, thunderstorms, and high winds have pummelling numerous sections of the state since Friday night. Farmers’ harvested crops were drenched in numerous locations after being stored for drying.

The hailstorm on Saturday afternoon destroyed several mango plantations in Siddipet, Medak, and other nearby places. Even though the ryots attempted to protect the crop with tarpaulin coverings, the rice piles taken to the markets by farmers in Husnabad were destroyed.
The paddy fields in various Mahabubabad district mandals, including Kuruvi, Sirolu, Chinna Guduru, Marimeda, and Dantalapally, were also devastated by rains and hailstorms.
A poultry farm in the district’s Errakunta tanda in Thorur mandal collapsed, and 20 sheep perished when lightning hit Govindaram in Bheemaram mandal of Jagtial district.

Hyderabad: CS Santhi Kumari holds meet on tax, non-tax revenues

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari on Wednesday held a meeting with officials and reviewed the progress achieved in realization of the state’s own tax and non-tax revenues.
Officials from commercial tax, excise, stamps and registration, transport, mining and other departments attended the meeting.
Chief Secretary directed the officials to focus on achieving the targets for this financial year. She asked them to take special measures to boost the tax collections and stated that weekly reviews will be held to ensure that the targets are achieved.
Commercial Tax, Registration and Excise Departments were asked to propose action plan to augment additional revenue.
The Telangana government has realized Rs 91,145 Crores in tax revenue collections and Rs 6996 Crores in non tax revenues resulting in a total of Rs 98,141 crores by the end of January 2023.
Inspector General, Registration and Stamps Rahul Bojja, Commissioner, Commercial Taxes Neetu Kumari Prasad, Special Secretary, Finance Ronald Rose, Director, Prohibition and Excise Sarfaraz Ahmed, Commissioner Transport Buddha Prakash Jyothi and other officials attended the meeting.

Hyderabad: CS Santhi Kumari reviews Gandipet development works

Hyderabad: Telangana State Chief Secretary (CS) Santhi Kumari while inspecting development works at Gandipet Lake on Tuesday said that walking and cycle tracks have to be completed soon.
The CS Shanti Kumari and Special Chief Secretary Aravind Kumar reviewed the development and beautification works of the lake at BRBK Bhavan.
As a part of phase one of the beautification works, officials were directed to start the site inspection immediately and complete the walking track and the cycling track works.
Rangareddy district Collector Harish, Sangareddy District Collector Sharath, HMDA, Endowment and Revenue officers and others were present at the conference.
The Chief Secretary asked the Endowment officials to take action regarding the cases pending in the court. She said that the plans have to be drafted for the beautification of the lake and park areas have to be developed.
