  • As summer kicks in, demand for earthen pots rises in Hyderabad

As summer kicks in, demand for earthen pots rises in Hyderabad

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: The temperature in Telangana’s Hyderabad reached up to 40 degree Celsius in some places in the last few days. Aside from the untimely rains occasionally, the temperatures are very high in the city. This has made earthen pots gain popular demand in the state.

Earthen pots are one of the most used things in summer as they keep the water cool and healthy.

A seller of the earthen pots, Ramesh says, “I have been doing this business for the last 8 years. We sell it for 4-5 months a year. We get these from Mahabub Nagar and Nizamabad. We sell it for Rs.250 per piece. Due to untimely rains, the business was less. But, as the heat increases, the business will be good.”

    MS Education Academy

“The water in these pots will be cold and very good. It is also very good for your health. We buy these pots every year. It is very good than the water cooled in the fridge”, a customer named Vijay Kumar said.

Another customer, Irshad said, “We get pots, bottles, jugs and other things made of mud here. It is very good during the summer season. The water will also be cold in it.”

Earlier, the Hyderabad Meteorological Centre informed that the temperature in some parts of Telangana is likely to rise up to 40 degree Celsius.

“In Hyderabad and surroundings, we are expecting temperatures between 39 degrees. The rest of the state is expecting more than 40 degrees and the northern part is expecting around 41 degrees. In the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits, a maximum of 37 degrees has been reported in the past 24 hours. Temperatures up to 39 to 40 degrees are expected in the GHMC limits in the coming days”, said Sravani, Scientist C of Hyderabad Meteorological Centre.

  • Elizabeth Warren kicks off her Senate reelection bid

Elizabeth Warren kicks off her Senate reelection bid

    [ad_1]

    2023 0314 warren francis 1

“I first ran for Senate because I saw how the system is rigged for the rich and the powerful and against everyone else,” Warren says in the clip.

“Now, I’m running for Senate again because there’s a lot more we’ve got to do: Pass a wealth tax. Make child care affordable. Protect our coastal communities. And build a 21st-century transportation system across all of Massachusetts,” she said. “Oh — and like I’ve been saying for years — put stricter rules on banks so they don’t crash and hurt working people.”

Warren has said she’s running for reelection for the better part of two years now. But her official announcement should go a long way in helping quell the persistent rumors that she might forgo such a bid to run for president again, take another shot at a Cabinet position, or, at 73, just step aside.

Warren hasn’t waged a campaign in Massachusetts since finishing third in the state’s 2020 presidential primary. And recent polls show mixed messages about her standing here.

A MassINC Polling Group survey from early February showed fewer than half of Massachusetts residents want Warren to seek another term. But support for her reelection bid is at 69 percent among Democrats. And a late-February Change Research poll conducted for Northwind Strategies shows Warren’s favorability at a whopping 83 percent among Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents. Both surveys were done before bank failures put Warren and her push for stronger oversight squarely back in the spotlight.

There’s no shortage of ambitious Democrats in this deep-blue state who dream of landing in Warren’s seat. But her launch video includes a cast of supporting characters that would be intimidating to potential challengers. Rep. Ayanna Pressley, who’s widely expected to be a contender the next time a Senate seat opens up here, and Boston Mayor Michelle Wu, a Warren protégé, both appear. So does Sen. Ed Markey, who says he’s running again in 2026.

Warren faces only nominal opposition at this point, from an Athol Republican-turned-Libertarian. Republicans are hunting for someone to challenge her. But that’s also likely to be a long shot with two of the GOP’s strongest potential contenders, former Gov. Charlie Baker and former Lt. Gov. Karyn Polito, cashing in in the private sector after declining to seek third terms.

  • Iliad kicks off its new offer, here are the features!

Iliad kicks off its new offer, here are the features!

    [ad_1]

Iliad it needs no introduction, it is one of the most recent telephone operators to have landed on the market and which has managed to win over users thanks to offers with competitive and convincing prices. Today we really want to talk to you about the arrival di an interesting new offer, Flash 130.

Iliad kicks off its new offer, here are the features!

It’s been a few days now that Iliad has launched its new Flash 130 tariff, to be precise it arrived on February 23, 2023. Since it is a flash offer, it will only be activated for a certain period of time and we advise you to take advantage of it. But what does it actually offer? As you can easily guess from the name, you will have 130 gigabytes of internet browsing available per month in addition to the usual unlimited minutes and text messages.

All of this will be yours for yourself 8.99 euros per month, a truly negligible price which makes the rate very competitive compared to the others currently available on the market. Unfortunately, however, all that glitters is not gold and Flash 130 is not free from defects: in particular, if you decide to adhere to this new tariff, you will not be able to travel on 5G but only on 3G and 4G+, unlike the other offer which offers 150 gigs.

Furthermore, you will not even have access to fiber with the discounted price of 19.99 euros per month, a real shame if you were thinking of switching to Iliad also for your landline.

Despite these small problems, however, it remains a very interesting offer that could be suitable for many users, for this reason we advise you to take it into consideration and for the moment we will give you an appointment for the next article!

  • Imran Khan’s party kicks off ‘Jail Bharo Tehreek’ from Lahore

Imran Khan’s party kicks off ‘Jail Bharo Tehreek’ from Lahore

    [ad_1]

Lahore: Ousted prime minister Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party on Wednesday began a mass court arrest movement from Lahore over what it called the violation of fundamental rights, abuse of the Constitution and the economic meltdown.

The party shared footage of senior leaders, including former federal ministers Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Asad Umar, Senator Azam Swati and former Punjab governor Omar Sarfraz Cheema, sitting inside a police van. They asked the police present there to arrest them.

“Today 200 PTI workers and Lahore leadership including myself have presented themselves for arrest,” said Qureshi, who is the vice-chairman of the party.

“This movement will continue until the imported government puts an end to the lawlessness in the country” and is held accountable for the last 10 months in the people’s court, he added.

A large number of PTI workers and leaders gathered at the Jail Road. Some of the workers had chained and kept themselves in an ‘artificial jail’ they made.

The government has imposed section 144 on different roads including Mall Road Lahore under which not more than five people can gather there. “We have violated section 144 to go to jail,” Qureshi insisted.

The Punjab government and Federal Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, however, said that police will not arrest any PTI worker for violating section 144.

“Only those PTI leaders will be arrested who are wanted in corruption or any other criminal cases,” Sanaullah said.

“The PTI leaders are doing photo sessions after boarding a police van in Lahore. They need political mileage through such stunts,” he said, adding that through this campaign 70-year-old Imran Khan wants to create anarchy in the country.

Information Minister Marriyum Auranzeb said that the PTI leaders have attacked a police van. “The PTI leadership will be arrested for attacking the police van,” she added.

On the other hand, Khan said that he has started the “Jail Bharo Tehreek” (court arrest movement) for Haqeeqi Azadi for two main reasons. “One, it is a peaceful, non-violent protest against the attack on our constitutionally-guaranteed fundamental rights. We are facing sham FIRs & NAB cases, custodial torture, attacks on journalists & social.” He further said the drive was against the economic meltdown “brought on by cabal of crooks who have money laundered billions in looted wealth & gotten NROs (deal) for themselves while crushing the people especially the poor and middle class, under the burden of spiralling inflation and rising unemployment.” Khan urged the people to take to the streets to get “true freedom”.

“As a matter of fact, this movement will take you to a free and happy Pakistan where your fundamental rights are protected. The ‘Jail Bharo Tehreek’ is the name of jihad,” he added.

The cricketer-turned-politician said he would also present himself for arrest once his bullet wound heals.

In November last year, Khan suffered three bullet injuries to his right leg during an anti-government rally in Wazirabad in Punjab province.

“There seems to be no rule of law in the country as despite the court’s order to hold the polls in Punjab within 90 days the state institutions are not ready to comply with it. If the elections are not held within 90 days in two provinces, it will create a constitutional crisis and promote jungle law in the country,” Khan said.

The PTI had dissolved its governments in Punjab and Kyber-Pakhtaunkhawa provinces over a month ago. Under the Constitution, elections must be held within 90 days after dissolution of an assembly.

The PML-N led nine-party government has said that holding separate elections for the provincial and national assemblies is not possible because of the economic crisis and the law and order situation.

Khan, who was ousted as prime minister in April last year after a no-confidence motion was passed in the National Assembly, is seeking fresh general elections in Pakistan.

  • Schiff kicks off California Senate bid

Schiff kicks off California Senate bid

    [ad_1]

    20222312 schiff francis 1

Schiff is entering a crowded Senate field that’s likely to test alliances in the nation’s largest state. California’s top-two primary system and heavily Democratic electorate raises the possibility that two Democrats could advance to the general election. Schiff, a prodigious fundraiser, has built up a hefty campaign war chest with over $20 million cash on hand at the end of November 2022, ahead of a certainly expensive primary campaign.

Incumbent Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), has repeatedly declined to announce her plans yet, but Democrats largely expect the 89-year-old Senate veteran to step aside.

In an email to supporters later Thursday, Schiff acknowledged Feinstein hadn’t yet announced her plans, but added: “We need to start preparing for the fights ahead right now.” The two have also previously discussed a potential Schiff Senate bid.

Rep. Katie Porter (D-Calif.) already entered the race and is trying to carve out a progressive lane, and Rep. Barbara Lee (D-Calif.), a longtime liberal leader, has privately signaled to her colleagues she intends to run, though she has not yet made a formal announcement.

Schiff’s specific ideology within the Democratic Party doesn’t fall neatly into one box. While Porter and Lee have both served in leadership of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, Schiff has never been a part of the group. And though he began his congressional career as a member of the fiscally moderate “Blue Dog” Democrats, he now stands further to the left than he used to — with support for liberal priorities such as the Green New Deal and Medicare for All.

“I very much view myself as a progressive,” Schiff said in an interview later Thursday, adding that he intends to stress basic quality-of-life issues like housing and wages.

Schiff, as well as Lee, are expected to be able to draw on deep connections to other California politicians, dating back to their time in the state legislature. They’ve both served alongside other members of Congress who also rose up through the state ranks.

Top House Democratic leaders are signaling they’ll remain neutral in the contest between the California heavyweights.

“I think there are a few members of the caucus who are running for the United States Senate and I wish all of them well,” House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries said in a brief interview Thursday. “We’re going to miss them, but I wish all of them well in their political endeavors.”
