Kirron Kher tests positive for Covid-19

Mumbai: Actor and politician Kirron Kher on Monday tested positive for Covid-19.
Taking to Twitter, Kirron shared the news and wrote, “I have tested positive for Covid. So anyone who has come in contact with me please get yourself tested.”
In 2021, Kirron was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a type of blood cancer. She bounced back after her cancer recovery and was one of the judges on the reality show, India’s Got Talent.
Loved by many, Kirron has delivered memorable performances in several Bollywood films.
Kirron has played a lot of motherly roles throughout her career which is why she is now known as the quintessential mother in Bollywood films. She has earned a lot of praise for her roles in ‘Devdas’, ‘Rang De Basanti’, ‘Hum Tum’, ‘Dostana’, ‘Main Hoon Na’ and others.
She is the wife of actor Anupam Kher.
Anupam and Kirron tied the knot in 1985. She was previously married to Gautam Berry and had a son Sikandar Kher in 1981.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Anupam will be seen in ‘The Vaccine War’ and ‘Emergency’.
‘The Vaccine War’ revolves around India’s contributions in the race to produce a Covid-19 vaccine during the pandemic. It is helmed by Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri.

‘Emergency’ is Kangana Ranaut’s directorial and revolves around the life of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
On the other hand, Kirron is mainly busy with her political work as a BJP leader.

‘Kuch logon ko zindagi bhar jhooth bolna padta hai’:Anupam Kher reacts to Prakash Raj’s ‘nonsense film’ comment on The Kashmir Files

Mumbai: Vivek Agnihotri’s ‘The Kashmir Files’ has been in controversy since its release and the movie was criticised by various popular personalities in the industry. From Israeli film producer to Prakash Raj, several people openly termed the film ‘Propaganda against the particular community. The director and cast of the movie have always defended the film and they claim that the movie is based on real stories.
Bollywood actor Anupam Kher has again come into the defence of the movie and recently addressed Prakash Raj’s ‘one of the nonsense films’ comments on the movie. He said that some people have to live life with the help of lies.
In a interview with the Navbharat Times, Anupam said, “Apni apni aukat ki baat karte hain log. Kuch logon ko zindagi bhar jhooth bolna padta hai, kuch log zindagi bhar sach bolte hain. Main un logon mein se hoon jo zindagi bhar sach bol ke zindagi jiyein hain. Jisko jhooth bol ke jeena hai vo uski marzi hai. (People talk according to their status. Some people have to lie all their lives, while others speak the truth. I am one of those who have spoken the truth, throughout my life. Those who want to live by lying, it’s their wish).”
Prakash during an event in Kerala had earlier said, “The Kashmir Files is one of the nonsense films, but we know who produced it. Shameless. International jury spit on them. They are still shameless. The other fellow, the director is still telling, ‘Why I am not getting Oscar?’ He will not even get a Bhaskar.”
“I tell you because there is a sensitive media out there. Here you can do a propaganda film. I know, according to my sources, they have invested around ₹2000 crore only to make films like this. But you can’t fool people all the time,” he further added.
The Kashmir Files movie highlights the exodus of Kashmiri Hindus from Kashmir in the 1990s. It is produced by Zee Studios and stars Anupam in the lead role alongside Pallavi Joshi, Mithun Chakraborty and Darshan Kumaar among others.

Two youths detained for throwing bottles at Kailash Kher in Karnataka

Vijayanagara: The Karnataka Police have taken two youths from the audience gallery into custody for throwing water bottles at famous singer Kailash Kher who was performing on stage here.
The two were demanding Kher to sing Kannada songs, police said on Monday. The police are yet to give details of the detained persons.
Police stated that the incident took place during a musical programme at the historical Hampi Utsav on Sunday evening. The youths were demanding Kannada songs from the beginning of the programme and threw bottles on the stage when their demands were not met. The police have taken up further investigations.
The three-day Hampi Utsav is being organised at the World Heritage site Hampi to commemorate the glory of the Vijayanagara Empire that lasted for two centuries. The Hampi Utsav began on January 27.
The Hampi Utsav is being celebrated with much fanfare as it is for the first time that the programme is being held after the formation of the Vijayanagara district in the state. The police have beefed up the security at the venues.
