PM Modi visited Telangana five times, but KCR didn’t receive him even once: BJP leader

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: Former Member of Legislative Council and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader N Ramchander Rao on Saturday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Telangana five times in 14 months but Chief Minister of the state K Chandrasekhar Rao received him not even once.

Talking to ANI, Rao said, “In the last 14 months PM visited the state five times and not even a single time CM received the PM as per the protocol.”

“The CM of Telangana is not behaving according to the status and stature and not following the protocol of the state. CMs like Pinarayi Vijayan of Kerala and MK Stalin of Tamil Nadu are also politically and ideologically opposed. But they both have the humility to receive PM Modi as per the protocol though they are politically opposed to BJP”, Rao added.

    MS Education Academy

He said that the people of Telangana will teach KCR a lesson. “Earlier Rajiv Gandhi and NTR had bitter political differences, yet NT Rama Rao came to receive Rajiv Gandhi. That is the political culture a democracy requires. Today the behaviour of CM is deplorable, and condemnable and Telangana people are being insulted by CM KCR. The people in Telangana will teach him a lesson”, he said.

Earlier in a veiled attack on Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao-led government, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said Telangana needs to be very careful of people who nurture dynastic rule, nepotism and corruption.

Prime Minister Modi said he was pained at the non-cooperation of state government in the Centre’s projects.

Addressing a gathering at Parade Ground, Hyderabad, PM Modi said, “Serving people with utmost devotion is our primary goal. But I am very pained about one thing… It hurts a lot when the development and welfare measures by the central government do not fructify well due to hindrances posed by state governments. This has been happening in Telangana.”

In the programme at Parade Ground, Hyderabad, PM Modi laid the foundation stone for the redevelopment of Secunderabad Railway Station and other infrastructure projects.

He said due to the lack of cooperation from the state government, many central projects were getting delayed and it is the people who are the ultimate sufferers.

He said the state government should not allow any hindrance to development projects.

“I appeal to the Telangana government to not allow any obstruction to development measures, not make the people of Telangana the victims, not to deprive the state of prosperity,” he added.

Attacking the ruling BRS in Telangana without taking names, PM Modi said dynasty politics and corruption are not different. He said corruption flourishes where dynasty politics prevails.

Prime Minister Modi said, “In today’s new India, it is our priority to fulfil the aspirations of the countrymen. But a handful of people are very agitated by these development works. People, who keep nurturing dynastic rule, nepotism and corruption, are irked by those who work honestly. They are not concerned with the interest of the country and society. Such people only like to see their families flourishing. Telangana needs to be very careful about such people.”

He said the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government has been dedicated to fulfilling the dreams and aspirations of Telangana’s people.

“In the last nine years, around 70 km of the Metro network has been laid in Hyderabad only,” the PM said.

He said Telangana is reaping the benefits of the efforts being taken to modernise railways in the entire country.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Hyderabad on Saturday. He was received by Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan and Union Minister G Kishan Reddy at Begumpet Airport in Hyderabad. Telangana Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Bandi Sanjay was also at the airport.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao did not receive PM Modi at the airport. Instead, the CM deputed state minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav to welcome the Prime Minister at Begumpet airport in his absence.

The Telangana CM also skipped Prime Minister Modi’s programme in the state on Saturday. Chief Minister KCR was invited following the protocol.

KCR’s Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has been at loggerheads with the BJP, which is trying to make political and electoral inroads into Telangana. Assembly election in the state is due this year.

KCR, on the other hand, is trying to expand his party to other states as part of its national ambitions.

Last year, KCR renamed his party – the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) – to Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS), marking the first step toward becoming a national party to counter the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. He was also seen putting in efforts to unite the opposition parties for a united fight against BJP in next year’s general elections.

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao will host the annual Iftar dinner for the Muslim community at LB Stadium on April 12. He directed his secretary Bhupal Reddy to make the necessary arrangements.

The annual dinner is set to be organised by the state government on a grand scale. Muslim clerics, MLAs, government officials, and general public are expected to join the Iftar party.

Meanwhile, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leaders slammed the prime minister Narendra Modi for his ‘parivarvaad’ (dynastic politics) remarks.

    MS Education Academy

Prime minister Narendra Modi on Saturday expressed ‘pain’ at the alleged non-cooperation of the ruling dispensation towards central initiatives aimed at the southern state.

“Handful of people who encourage ‘parivarvaad’ are trying to see where they can reap benefits from projects being implemented for the people of Telangana,” PM Modi said.

Reacting to Modi’s statements about the state’s non-cooperation with Central projects, state finance minister Harish Rao said “Every word is far from the truth. Playing so many lies as the Prime Minister is worth it to him.”

“It is ridiculous for Modi to say that the state government is not cooperating with the Centre. Actually, the situation is reversed. Centre is not giving any support to Telangana by not sanctioning a tribal university, railway coach factory, Bayyaram steel industry, medical colleges, and nursing colleges,” Harish Rao said.

Hyderabad: KCR to skip receiving PM Modi again

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao will once again skip receiving Prime Minister Narendra Modi when the latter arrives here on April 6 to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for various projects.

The state government on Thursday named Animal Husbandry Minister T. Srinivas Yadav as minister-in-waiting for the Prime Minister’s visit, and he will receive Modi on his arrival at Begumpet Airport.

This is the fifth time in the last 14 months that the Chief Minister will not be receiving the Prime Minister on the latter’s visit to the state.

    MS Education Academy

The Prime Minister is scheduled to flag off Secunderabad-Tirupati Vande Bharat Express at Secunderabad railway station and later attend a public meeting at Parade Ground to inaugurate or lay foundation stone for various projects worth over Rs 11,300 crore.

The latest visit by Modi comes at a time when Telangana police have arrested state BJP President and MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar in 10th class question paper leak case.

After Sanjay’s dramatic arrest late on Tuesday night, he was sent to judicial custody for 14 days.

BJP leaders have alleged that Sanjay was arrested deliberately on the eve of the PM’s visit.

KCR, as the Chief Minister is popularly known, had not received Modi when he had arrived on November 12, 2022 to dedicate Ramagundam fertiliser plant to the nation.

The ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) had taken exception to the PMO not extending a proper invitation to the Chief Minister.

Earlier, KCR had skipped welcoming Modi on July 2 when the latter had arrived for BJP’s National Executive meet.

In May, KCR had avoided welcoming Modi when the latter was in Hyderabad to attend 20th annual celebrations of the Indian School of Business (ISB).

Just before the Prime Minister’s arrival, the Chief Minister flew to Bengaluru to call on former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda.

In February last year, KCR had stayed away from receiving Modi on his visit to the city to unveil the statue of equality.

This had evoked strong reaction from BJP leaders, who alleged that the Chief Minister is insulting the office of the Prime Minister.

Hyderabad: Dalit intellectuals have hailed the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government of Telangana for installing a 125-foot statue of Dr B.R. Ambedkar.

The University Grants Commission’s (UGC) former Chairman Prof Sukhadeo Thorat and other intellectuals visited the statue which is coming up near Hussain Sagar in the heart of Hyderabad and is scheduled to be unveiled on April 14, the birth anniversary of Ambedkar.

They were all praise for Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao for paying fitting tribute to the architect of the Indian Constitution by installing his tallest statue.

    MS Education Academy

The statue has come close to the newly-built state Secretariat which has also been named after Ambedkar.

A thanksgiving ceremony was held in the city by various Dalit organizations to thank the Chief Minister for naming the Telangana secretariat after Ambedkar and also for installing a 125-foot statue.

Leaders of Prabuddha Bharat International, Samata Sainik Dal, SC, ST Officers Forum and others attended the meeting.

Thorat said he was feeling proud to be a part of this thanksgiving ceremony. He appreciated KCR, as the Chief Minister is popularly known, for naming the secretariat and installing a statue as a fitting tribute to Ambedkar.

    K. Srinivas, editor of Telugu daily Andhra Jyothi said Chief Minister KCR has done what no other Chief Minister could do.

Press Academy Chairman Allam Narayana said that one language and one state was the dream of Baba Saheb Ambedkar and KCR has made this come true by implementing the ideals mentioned in the Constitution.

Former Chief Secretary K. Madhav Rao said that Ambedkar sacrificed his life to bring all core values of humans on one platform.

Delhi Vasanth, Founder, Gramodaya Chamber of Commerce & Technology, said that Baba Saheb Ambedkar is truly the real father of the nation with his innovative ideas for uplifting the downtrodden.

He proposed auction of the thesis “Problem of Rupee” written by Dr Ambedkar as done earlier for Theory of Relativity of Albert Einstein.

Benjamin, Chairman of Saint Paul’s institutions came forward with initial bidding of Rs 1 crore. Vasanth said this process will go for 6 months, inviting different national heads and business heads to globalise the doctrine of “Problem of Rupee”.

Telangana: Bandi challenges KCR to show his degree certificates

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: Telangana Bharatiya Janata Party president Bandi Sanjay on Tuesday challenged chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to disclose his post-graduate degree certificates, before talking about the educational qualifications of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“KCR has claimed to have completed his M Sc in political science. Let him disclose his certificates if he has guts, instead of making a hue and cry over the educational qualifications of the Prime Minister,” Sanjay said, while speaking to media after inspecting the arrangements for Modi’s public meeting scheduled to be held on April 8.

Sanjay said the Prime Minister would be coming to Hyderabad to flag off Vande Bharat Express, besides kickstarting the modernisation works of Secunderabad railway station and other projects.

    MS Education Academy

“He would be addressing a rally at Secunderabad parade grounds at 10.30 am and I request all sections of people to attend his meeting in big numbers,” he said.

Reacting to the comments of KCR and his son KT Rama Rao on Modi’s educational qualifications, Sanjay said the Prime Minister had read the ‘entire Indian society’ and was leading the country on the ‘path of progress’.

“What has KCR studied? He claimed to have studied M Sc (political science). Let him disclose his certificate. He has done masters degree in making fake passports and creating fake certificates,” he alleged.

Recalling the Bharat Rashtra Samithi president’s claim that he had studied 80,000 books, Sanjay said the knowledge earned from those books was being used in running ‘drug, gambling and liquor mafia’, besides taking ‘huge kickbacks’ in the name of ‘commissions’. “KCR and his family members are educated fools,” he said.

Stating that KCR had converted a revenue surplus state into a state ridden with Rs 5 lakh crore debts. “BRS has become an acronym for beer, rum and scotch party. It is a gang of international dacoits, who looted the state through various schemes and scams,” he said.

Sanjay said while there have been a series of leaks of question papers, KCR and his family members are parking their ‘ill-gotten money’ in foreign countries. “His family which was confined to just a building at Nandinagar eight years ago had amassed huge wealth running into thousands of crores,” he alleged.

He claimed that senior journalist Rajdeep Sardesai had said that KCR had offered to bear the election expenditure of all the opposition parties in the country if he was made the chairman of the opposition alliance. “It clearly shows how much ill-gotten money KCR had made to fund the election expenditure of all parties in the world,” he criticised.

The BJP president reiterated his demand for the resignation of KCR and the sacking of his son KT Rama Rao from the cabinet for the TSPSC question paper leakage and the leakage of Class X papers. “Has KCR ever reviewed their activities? Even the education minister should also resign,” he said.

Stating that the BJP would continue to fight till the culprits in the TSPSC question paper leakage are brought to book, Sanjay announced that very soon, the party would organise a march of the unemployed at Warangal with thousands of unemployed youth.

“Similar march would be held in all the district headquarters and later, a massive public meeting would be held in the state capital,” he declared.

‘Is Telangana really a role model for other states?’ Bandi mocks KCR

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: Telangana Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Saturday belittled Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s claim that the state is a role model nationwide.

Speaking to media persons at the party office in Sangareddy on Saturday, he highlighted various issues faced by Telangana.

“Is it in the suicides of farmers? Or non-implementation of promises like the supply of free urea and seeds and loan waiver? Or slashing of all subsidies to the agriculture sector in the name of the Rythu Bandhu scheme? Or not paying salaries to employees on time? Or pushing the state into bankruptcy?” he asked.

    MS Education Academy

On the recent TSPSC question paper leak, Bandi Sanjay repeated his demand to dissolve the board. “The SIT claims to have arrested 15 persons and questioned 104 candidates. Why has no action been taken against K T Rama Rao who has misled the media and the public?” he asked and demanded the IT minister’s resignation with immediate effect.

On a query, if BJP will join hands with Y S Sharmila’s YSRTP (Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Telangana Party) he said, “I spoke to her over the phone and told we are ready to fight in support of anybody who is meted out injustice. But I also made it clear that we cannot work along with the Congress, as we strongly feel the Congress and the BRS are handed in glove with each other.”

Reacting to the poster war between BJP and BRS, Bandi Sanjay said he does not worry because BJP is in the hearts of the people.

“It is atrocious that the police arrest the BJP workers who pasted posters against the BRS, but keep quiet when the BRS leaders paste posters against Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” he said.

KCR removed Telangana from his party, why should he not be removed from state?: Bandi

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: Telangana Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Thursday hit out at Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) and said that KCR has removed Telangana from his party, why should he not be removed from this state?

“When the Chief Minister does not give place for the people in his main responsibilities, why should we bear him? Tolerate him? When KCR has removed Telangana from his party, why should he not be removed from this state?” the BJP leader said in a tweet.

“We will not give 3 acres to Dalits, will not give CM post to Dalits, will not fill the job vacancies, will not give unemployment benefits, will not give double bedroom houses, will not give funds to panchayats and municipalities, will just announce, but not give funds to temples – KCR,” he added.

Earlier in October 2022, CM KCR launched the Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS), marking the first step towards becoming a national party to counter the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) itself was launched in April 2000.

  • Centre’s contribution to SDRF is 75% , state share only 25%: Reddy slams KCR

Centre’s contribution to SDRF is 75% , state share only 25%: Reddy slams KCR

    [ad_1]

Delhi: Union Minister G Kishan Reddy on Monday slammed Telangana Chief Minister and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) chief K Chandrashekhar Rao and said that 75 per cent of the funds in the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) are provided by the central government while the state share in SDRF is only 25 per cent, adding it is extremely unfortunate that farmers of Telangana have suffered losses due to the recent untimely rains across the state.

The Union minister said, “It is an undeniable fact that 75 per cent of the funds in SDRF are provided by the central government. The state share in SDRF is only 25 per cent. From 2014-15 to date, the Central Government has released Rs 2,196.60 crore to Telangana State SDRF.

In addition, RS 873.27 crore has been released under NDRF. Together with SDRF and NDRF, a total of Rs 3,069.87 crore has been provided by the central government to Telangana state. In 2022-2023, The Central Government has contributed the first instalment of Rs 188.80 crore and another Rs 188.80 crore will be transferred to the State SDRF for the financial year 2022-23.”

Stating that it is the responsibility of the government to support the farmers who have suffered losses, he said, “It is extremely unfortunate that the farmers of Telangana have suffered losses due to the recent untimely rains across the state of Telangana.”

Alleging that the KCR government of not helping the farmers, he said, “Keeping this in mind, the Government of India led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi introduced the ‘Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana’ scheme. The Telangana government, which initially joined the scheme, later withdrew from the scheme without giving any reasons.”

“This has now led to a situation where farmers of Telangana can no longer get compensation for crop losses due to unseasonal rains, natural disasters and other unforeseen calamities.

Unfortunately, the state government does not have any clarity or specific plan in terms of providing compensation to farmers who have suffered losses due to various reasons. Without any such plan it withdrew from the ‘Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana’ purely on political grounds,” Reddy added.

“Since then till today the farmers of Telangana who have lost their crops in the state are facing difficulties without getting proper compensation. At the same time, during the implementation of ‘Fasal Bima Yojana’ many farmers were benefited by it.

In the states where this scheme is being implemented, lakhs of farmers who have lost crops are getting compensation,” he further remarked.

Targeting Telangana Chief Minister KCR, he said, “It is unfortunate that the Chief Minister of the state, who recently visited the areas where crops were damaged due to untimely rains in the state, blamed the central government regarding compensation to the farmers.

While blaming the Government of India on one hand, the State Government has issued a memo to provide compensation to the farmers from the State Disaster Response Fund.”

“As on April 1, 2022, the State SDRF account had funds of Rs 608.06 crore as balance available in its account. Along with the first instalment of Rs 188.80 crore Central share of SDRF for the year 2022-23 released, on July 22, 2022, and the corresponding state share, the SDRF has a corpus of approximately Rs 860 crore.

This means that currently there are enough funds in the state SDRF to provide the necessary assistance to the farmers who have lost their crops. If the state government really loves the farmers, then I demand compensation from the treasury of the state government along with the compensation given by SDRF,” he added.

Alleging that the Chief Minister is trying to get publicity, he said, “Although the central government is providing assistance to the victims of the natural calamities in the state of Telangana, the Chief Minister is blaming the central government. It is clear that instead of understanding the plight of the farmers who have lost their crops and helping them, the CM is focused on blaming the Centre and gaining publicity.”

Stating that the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government in the state was misleading the people, the Union Minister said, “It is foolish of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leaders to hide the truth and mislead the people in the current time when technology has developed so much. However, I suggest that the KCR government should refrain from spreading lies and tell the truth in front of the people.”

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao last Thursday visited rain-affected areas in a few districts of the state and assured the farmers of financial assistance for cross losses.

He announced a compensation of Rs 10,000 per acre for farmers who lost their crops due to recent unseasonal rains and hailstorms, informed the government.

CM KCR while addressing the Ramapuram village of Khammam district, said, “Due to the rains, there was a loss of 2,28,250 acres of crops throughout the state. Out of this, maize crops suffered the maximum damage of 1,29,446 acres.

As per the central government norms, they won’t get much money. In the Telangana government, along with putting in big investments and completing the pending and new projects, we are implementing farmer support schemes that are not there anywhere else in the world.

With it, the farmers are also getting stable and coming out of their debts. Despite that, they are some fools who say that we won’t get anything from agriculture. Today Telangana is first in per capita income in the country. We have the highest per capita income, more than Maharashtra. In the GSDP growth rate, farming plays a vital role.”

“Farmers don’t have to feel bad about it as the government is with you”, he said assuring support to the farmers.
“After BRS was formed we have been saying that India requires a total integrated agricultural policy. For funds, we have to write a report to the Centre and we don’t know when they will give it. We don’t want to depend on the Centre as it takes six months to respond,” said the BRS chief.
