Hyderabad: State Medical & Health Minister T. Harish Rao has said Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao launched basthi hospitals in the State in order to offer quality healthcare services to people in all the basthis of the State. He said the hospitals were offering excellent healthcare services to the people and acquired the name.

Replying to questions raised by the members in the House, the Health Minister said they had conducted lipid profile test which costs ₹800 in private hospitals to 1.48 lakh people free of cost. He also said they had also conducted thyroid test to 1.08 lakh people at the Basthi hospitals.

Harish Rao said they were giving holiday to the Basthi hospitals on Saturdays instead of Sunday. He also said they were providing 158 types of medicines free of cost to patients. He also said the services being offered by the Basthi hospitals had led to the drop in the number of OP cases in the major government hospitals. He said the total number of OP patients in Osmania general hospital in 2019 was 12 lakh and the number had come down to five lakh in 2022. He also said the total number of OP patients in Gandhi Hospital had come down to 3.7 lakh in 2022 from 6.5 lakh in 2019.

Similarly, total number of the patients in Nilofer hospital had come down to 5.3 lakh. He said the total number of the patients in Fever hospital had come down to 1.12 lakh in the year 2022 from four lakh in 2019. He said the major hospitals of the State are now focusing on performing major and critical surgeries due to the reduction in their OP number. Hyderabad: Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao attacking Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that while he won in the parliamentary elections of 2014, the country lost.

KCR made these remarks while speaking on the Adani-Hindenburg row during the Assembly session held on Sunday.

The chief minister said that the Prime Minister, while he made a chest-thumping speech, avoided answering questions on the Adani issue and bulldozed opposition from raising questions. “The manner in which BJP leaders are praising the PM will lead to the point of Modi becoming the ex-PM,” KCR said to the chortles of the TRS MLAs.

KCR Govt decreased Muslim quota to 3%, reduced budget: Shabbir

    [ad_1]

Kamareddy: Former Minister Mohammed Ali Shabbir was facilitated by the members of Wahidiya Masjid Committee of Vikas Nagar Colony in Kamareddy town after Friday prayers for his in bringing 4% Muslim reservation in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

The Wahidiya Masjid Committee members honoured him describing him as the champion of Muslim reservation. They said that the 4% Muslim quota changed the lives of lakhs of poor Muslims in both the Telugu States of Telangana and Andhra as they have been getting 4% seats in all educational institutions and also 4% quota in all government jobs since 2004-05.

Speaking on the occasion, Shabbir Ali said that the minorities, especially the beneficiaries of the 4% Muslim reservation should support the Congress party in the next elections. He said Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao, who came to power on the promise of a 12% Muslim reservation, cheated the minority community by reducing the Muslim quota to 3%. He said KCR Govt has illegally reduced the quota for Muslims in the BC-E category in jobs and education to 3% and it was being done unofficially.

Shabbir Ali said the previous Congress Government not only provided 4% reservation for Muslims but implemented many schemes for the welfare of minorities. However, he said that the TRS government was only creating hype about minorities’ welfare, but doing nothing. He alleged that the KCR Govt has made all the institutions dealing with the welfare of minorities defunct by not sanctioning funds and not filling vacant posts. He said that Muslims should realise that KCR has caused huge damage to minorities by wearing the false mask of secularism.

The Congress leader said that the TRS has always supported the BJP Govt at the Centre and indirectly strengthened the BJP in the State by damaging the Congress party in Telangana. He announced that the Congress party would soon launch a campaign to expose these facts before the people.

Shabbir Ali said that about 10-12 lakh youth belonging to minority communities were unemployed in Telangana. He said that the minority youth did not receive a single rupee of aid or loan from the BRS Govt in the last eight years. “We will start a movement with these unemployed youth to put pressure on the TRS government for subsidized loans and other facilities,” he said.

He said if the minorities want to protect their places of worship, Waqf properties and Urdu language and get a share in the welfare programmes like housing for weaker sections, education, health, etc., then they should ensure the return of Congress Govt in Telangana in the next elections. He said that the BRS was not a secular party and it has cheated the minorities by damaging their institutions, schemes and places of worship.

  • Centre ‘forcefully stopped Pfizer’s COVID vaccine: KCR hits out at Modi-govt

Centre ‘forcefully stopped Pfizer’s COVID vaccine: KCR hits out at Modi-govt

    [ad_1]

TRS to BRS: Will KCR's name-change gamble pay off?

Nanded: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has alleged that the Central government did everything possible to “forcefully” prevent import of COVID-19 vaccines from Pfizer, especially when people were ready to get the best vaccine.

Rao claimed that he and several other Chief Ministers had lobbied for Pfizer in India, but the PM Modi Government stalled the entry of the US pharmaceutical giant into India.

The Chief Minister’s remark at his recent rally in Maharashtra’s Nanded came days after Union Minister of State for Electronics and Technology Rajeev Chandrasekhar claimed that Pfizer had “tried to bully the Indian government into accepting an indemnity clause for supplying its mRNA COVID vaccine”.

MoS Chandrasekhar, shared a tweet of Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla during the World Economic Forum in Davos in which the pharma company official stated that senior leaders in the Opposition had put pressure on the Centre to procure foreign-made vaccines during the pandemic rather than choosing Made in India vaccines.

Addressing a press conference in Maharashtra’s Nanded on Sunday, KCR said that “Make in India” has become a “Joke in India.”
“Today many multinational companies are leaving China, but why are we not able to attract them? Why are those companies not turning towards us? If Make in India would have been right, ease of doing would have been right, if they were feasible, then why were not allowed to come to India?

“There is a company namely Pfizer, which manufactures vaccines, it was stopped from entering India during COVID-19. No matter how hard the company tried but they (the Centre) did not allow them to come here. What was the reason?” questioned the Telangana chief minister.

“While the public wanted to get the best vaccine, people also wanted to buy it, yet the company was stopped forcefully. We also tried, many Chief Ministers also had talks with PMO and Niti Aayog but they (Govt) did not allow them (Pfizer) to come,” KCR said.

KCR claimed that several multinational companies which were leaving China, like Pfizer, were being prevented from entering India and the Central government was promoting slogans of ‘Make in India’ to encourage crony capitalism and mislead people.

“Where is the environment in India? Do we have an environment of Make in India like the slogans they are giving? Do we have ease of doing business? Are we provided with the facilities? If there is, then why are we are not able to get international companies?” he asked.

Taking a dig at the Centre, KCR further alleged, “They will work for those who are their friends. Will inflate their stock market, why will they let others to come?”

But the Central government had said that they will not buy the COVID-19 vaccine from Pfizer and Moderna because indigenous vaccines will be more affordable and easier to store.

India was in discussions with US companies Pfizer and Moderna in 2021 for the supply of these international vaccines but their terms and conditions were not accepted ultimately by India. The Centre declined to meet the requests by the US pharma firms for legal protection over any side effects from the use of their vaccines, which are widely used in the United States and Europe.

However, India successfully vaccinated its citizens, with “Made in India” vaccines under its nationwide vaccination drive, under which over 220.16 crore doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in the two years since its launch.

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya recently tweeted that India’s feat was the “world’s largest and most successful vaccination drive.” He saluted the efforts of doctors and other healthcare workers on the front line who made this achievement possible.

  • Apologize to Telangana farmers for ignoring them: Sharmila to KCR

Apologize to Telangana farmers for ignoring them: Sharmila to KCR

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: YSR Telangana party (YSRTP) chief YS Sharmila on Monday came down heavily on CM KCR, for his ‘sinister plot to unconditionally gift Sri Ram Sagar Project waters to Maharashtra.

It is absolutely ridiculous and autocratic on part of the chief minister to openly offer Maharashtra to take Sriram Sagar Project waters. This project is the legacy and lifeline of Telangana, irrigating more than 16 lakh acres, and no one has the right to play with the farmers in this manner.

“How can KCR openly invite them to lift SRSP waters?” she asked, adding that Maharashtra had already built several illegal projects on the river Godavari, locking horns with Telangana in this regard.

“KCR has looted the state treasury and plunged us into a crisis of more than Rs 4 lakh crore debt. On top of it, he has not kept any of his promises. Now he is giving a green signal for the loot of SRSP waters, which are already mired in litigation, sunk by the layers of silt, ultimately leading to the suffering of the north Telangana farmers,” added Y S Sharmila.

“The worst is his reluctance dislike towards the slogan Jai Telangana, the sentiment and the expression that he exploited for decades to come into power, and loot the state. Leave the state of affairs to him, longer and he will even sell Hyderabad and Charminar. As such there are multiple issues with the neighbouring states on river waters,” said Y S Sharmila.

She further added that KCR is an insensitive chief minister who is concerned about the plight of Nanded farmers, but conveniently fails to own 8000 plus farmer suicides in Telangana, during his rule.

This is from NCRB, Police and Rythu Swaraj records. Why isn’t he owing up or speaking on these suicides that are a result of his inefficient rule where all the subsidies were withdrawn, loan waiver was not done at all, last three years saw crop loss to the tune of Rs 3000 crore, but no compensation given, no insurance to farmers aged above 60 years.

“If this is the plight, why won’t the Telangana farmer choose to die? We demand that you give an explanation and apology to the Telangana farmer, before continuing your cheap ‘Ab kee bar Kisan Sarkar’ politics, across the country.” she said.

KCR failed to develop Warangal as Dallas: Sharmila

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: YSR Telangana Party (YSRTP) leader Y.S. Sharmila on Sunday lashed out at Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao for his failure to develop Warangal and recalled that he had promised to develop the city as Dallas.

She addressed a massive public meeting near Hanamkonda petrol bunk as part of her ongoing padyatra.

She highlighted that CM KCR had earlier promised an annual fund of Rs 300 crore to the corporation, irrespective of its revenues. His hollow promise of transforming Warangal into Dallas is a lie, she said.

The YSRTP leader said that KCR’s other promises such as making Warangal an IT hub on the lines of Hyderabad, generating thousands of jobs, reviving Mamnoor airstrip into a full-fledged airport, industrialisation, metro rail for the city, all have been fake promises.

“What about the model journalist colony supposed to be the world’s largest,” she asked.

Sharmila said land for Mega Textile Park was acquired with high-handedness but not even a single plant can be seen. “What happened to the underground drainage system? Floods wreak havoc but no traces of sidewalls or other relief and reconstruction measures as promised?” she asked.

She said that last year’s untimely rains damaged crops in 56,000 acres in the district and 25,000 farmers suffered losses to the tune of Rs 900 crore, but no compensation was paid.

“Even the great poet Sri Kaloji Narayan Rao was insulted. Where is the world class auditorium named after him?” Sharmila questioned.

  • Centre should show same kind of love it has for Adani to common people: KCR

Centre should show same kind of love it has for Adani to common people: KCR

    [ad_1]

Nanded: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday demanded Adani Group’s “scam” be discussed in a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) as he targeted the Centre over the import of coal and its “love” for Adani.

He claimed the Centre is pressuring Life Insurance Corporation to make a false statement over its exposure in the Adani Group.

The Indian banking system is involved in this problem and the whole country is worried, he alleged.

Addressing a press conference in Nanded city of Maharashtra after speaking at a public rally, Rao, who heads Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), alleged the Centre is forcing states to import coal which is supplied only by Adani Group.

The import of coal is akin to “cheating” the country, and the BRS will change this scenario after coming to power, he said.

“It is my request to the Prime Minister that Adani Group is involved in such a big scam and it should be discussed in a joint parliamentary committee. Almost Rs 10 lakh crore has been evaporated,” he alleged.

“Everyone knows he (Adani) is your friend. In just two years, he became the world’s second richest person. If you are honest, set up a joint parliamentary committee. It is my demand,” Rao said.

The BRS chief claimed the Life Insurance Corporation has an exposure of Rs 80,000 crore (in Adani Group). But to mislead the country, the Centre is pressuring LIC to make a false statement that it is not in danger”.

“LIC is the world’s largest and better-performing insurance company but why the government is intervening?” he asked.

Speaking on the coal scenario, he said India has enough reserves of coal that would last for the next 120 years but the Union government is forcing states to procure imported coal, which is only supplied by the Adani group.

“The kind of love the Centre has for Adani, it should have for the people of the country,” he said.

The Adani Group is battling allegations of fraudulent transactions and share price manipulation raised by US-based activist short-seller Hindenburg Research, leading to a steep fall in the prices of its shares.

The Adani group has dismissed the charges as lies, saying it complies with all laws and disclosure requirements.

“The import of coal is cheating the country. Coal India Ltd has already stated that it has paid the required amount for the construction of a 250-km long railway track that would increase our coal production exponentially. But the Centre government is not letting it happen,” he claimed.

Rao, however, didn’t specify the railway track he was talking about.

“If we utilise all the coal fields in the country properly, we will need not have to buy a single kilogram of coal from any other country. The BRS is going to change it when it comes to power,” he said.

  • Water-wars, China, Kisan sarkar: Telangana CM KCR at meet in Nanded

Water-wars, China, Kisan sarkar: Telangana CM KCR at meet in Nanded

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) supremo K Chandrashekhar Rao advertised the Telangana model of farmers’ welfare to the farmers of Maharashtra and said that policies like 24/7 power supply and Rythu Bima will be implemented across the country once in power.

He remarked that the farmers of Maharashtra should learn to write and enact laws along with running the plough in their fields.

“My dear farmer brothers, too much time has passed. You have waited enough for the help. Until now, you have run ploughs letting others write. Now, you should get ready not just to run the plough, but also to write and make laws,” he said.

KCR made these remarks at the BRS’ public meeting held at Nanded, Maharashtra. This is BRS’ first public meeting outside Telangana.

“This party was first named TRS and was only present in Telangana. After looking at the situation in the country, we understood that it’s important to bring transformation to the ideology that is ruling this nation. That is why we have decided to work on the national level. BRS is getting support from across the country,” KCR said.

KCR said that in spite of 75 years of independence and successive governments, there is not much change on the ground level. “Water for drinking and irrigation purposes and electricity are not being provided to people. Are the resources not available? he asked.

The BRS chief stated that in spite of several rivers originating and passing through Maharashtra, it’s sad that its farmers are dying in such massive numbers. Taking a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, KCR said that only Mann ki Baat is available to people but not basic essentials.

The BRS supremo said that Maharashtra is seeing the most number of farmer suicides in the country and it’s extremely sad. “Please think. When will someone die by suicide? When all the routes in life come to an end, people in distress die by suicide. Why are farmers, who are feeding this country, who are toiling day and night, forced to die by suicide?’ he asked.

    On water wars in India

The Telangana CM also bought up how “wars” between states over water were being encouraged when there was adequate availability of it to irrigate every acre of land in India.

“Why are water wars between states being encouraged when there is adequate water to irrigate every acre of land in India?” he asked.

“1 lakh 40 thousand tmcs of rainfall occurs in this country. Half of this water turns into steam through the process of evaporation. The remaining 70-75 thousand TMC of clean water flows in rivers.

We are using only 21 thousand TMC of water. The remaining 50,000 TMCs of water is wasted and ends up in the seas. These are the statistics released by the central government. Leaders are joking if 50 thousand tmacs of water is flowing into seas. There is no drinking water in many places,” said KCR.

The CM further added that he found it surprising to see the situation in Maharashtra. “Many rivers like Godavari, Krishna, Pravara, Purna, Penganga, Wardha, Ghata Prabha, Manjira, Bhima, Pranahita, Indrawati flow from here. Why is there a shortage of water in Maharashtra, which has huge water resources? Who are the factors for this? Please think about this,” he said.

Taking a swipe at the grand old party, he said that the Congress ruled India for 54 years out of 75 years of independent India. BJP ruled for 16 years. “Leaders like VP Singh, Chandrasekhar, Deve Gowda ruled for a year, a year and a half and eight months and left. In a period of 75 years only Congress and BJP ruled for 70 years. These two parties are the cause of this country’s misery,” he added.

“Geographically America is two and a half times bigger than us. But they have only 29 percent of cultivable land. China is one and a half times bigger than us. But the arable land is only 16 percent. India alone has 50 percent of arable land in the entire world. The total geographical area of India is 83 crore acres. Out of this 41 crore acres of land is cultivable. These are not the figures I am telling but the figures calculated by the central government itself.

    On China

Commenting on India’s neigbour China, KCR said the Make in India initiative brought by Prime Minister Modi has become “Joke in India”.

“Chinese bazaars are popping up in every small town in the country. The manja of butterflies, Diwali firecrackers, Holi colors, Diwali lamps, the idols of Lord Ganesha that we worship and our national flag come from China. If Make in India was properly implemented, Indian bazaars would have fared better. But wherever you go, Chinese bazaars are found,” he further said.

“Even the average goods train speed in India is 24 kmph, way behind 120 kmph in China,” he said.

Rao also noted that India has 361 billion tonnes of coal reserves, enough to provide country’s energy needs for the next 125 years. “Yet we are privatising the power sector,” he said.

The CM further remarked that Maharashtra itself has huge coal resources but there is no electricity.

KCR said that for the first time in the history of India, his party has pushed forward the theme of ‘Ab ki baar kisan sarkar’ keeping BRS’ central theme around farmers’ welfare. “Please go tonight to your villages and discuss this. India is a country of buddhi jeevi (wise), not buddu (fools),” he said.

The BRS supremo further remarked that when the time came, the greatest of leaders were overthrown by people very easily. “When the emergency was enforced, Jai Prakash Narayan’s movement made people overthrow such big leaders,” he remarked.

KCR said that the reason for the country’s current situation is due to the politics of the BJP and Congress. “They keep blaming each other all the time. Both call each other corrupt. One says you are Ambani and the other says you are Adani,” he stated.

Plight of Dalits under the Centre

Commenting on the plight of Dalits and Adivasis, the CM asked how long they had to lag behind owing to the corrupt practices of the two parties.

“We are providing financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh to each family in Telangana state through Dalit Bandhu scheme without any need to return, independent of banks. We will go ahead by implementing this scheme for 175000 Dalit families in Telangana state. If BRS comes to power, every year 25 lakh Dalit families will be given Dalit Bandhu at the rate of Rs 10 lakh,” he added.

“I will do my best to strengthen BRS by undertaking tours in all parts of Maharashtra like West Maharashtra, Vidarbha, North Maharashtra. Jai Maharashtra. Jai Bharat. Jai Hind,” concluded KCR.
