  • Altaf Bukhari Calls For Reconciliation To Bring Positive Change In JK

    SRINAGAR: Apni Party President Altaf Bukhari emphasised that reconciliation is important to shape the destiny of Jammu and kashmir and its people.

    According to a press release Bukhari was speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a party event, in which a large number of political leaders and activists from central Kashmir’s Badgam district joined the Apni Party at its headquarters in Srinagar.

    Apni Party president said, “The militancy has taken a backstage in JK and the people have been contributing to restoring the normalcy here; therefore, the time has come to start a reconciliation to shape up the destiny of this land and its people in a positive manner.”

    Bukhari expressed his worry about the prevailing drug menace in society and yet again called for comprehensive efforts by one and all to eradicate the menace and protect the young population from falling prey to it.

    “As you know, Apni Party has already launched a campaign named ‘Say yes to life and say no to drugs’ with a range of initiatives, but the problem needs to be tackled on a large scale and everyone from the society, especially our religious leaders, need to come forward to play their vital role in eradicating the drug abuse from the society.”

    Stressing on the release of the veteran religious leaders, Altaf Bukhari said, “The prominent religious leaders including Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Moulana Abdul Rasheed Dawoodi, Moulana Mushtaq Ahmad Veeri, and others who are in jail must be released because these veteran social and religious leaders have huge following in the Valley can play an important role to help eradicate social evils including drug abuse in the Valley.

    He further said, “Jammat Islami JK must be allowed to carry out its religious activities so that it can help eradicating social evils including the growing drug menace in Jammu and Kashmir.”

    SRINAGAR: Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari on Thursday called on people from all walks of life to unite against the ongoing drug menace in the Kashmir and protect the young populationfrom falling prey to this grave evil. He emphasised that society can no longer afford to lose youngsters to drugs and urged everyone to play his/ her role in eradicating the menace.

    While talking to reporters on the sidelines of an event, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari said, “Apni Party has decided to take a range of initiatives, including skill development training for the youth, with the aim of empowering the youngsters and protecting them from the ongoing drug abuse in J&K.”

    He said, “We are not taking these initiatives for political benefits or electoral gains; rather, this is a sincere effort to shoulder our responsibility towards society. Given the severity of the drug menace and its impact on society, I think every one of us ought to play his/her role in eradicating this destructive evil.”

    Apni Party President made a promise that he would extend his assistance in rehabilitating the drug victims. He said that if anyone approaches him seeking help for the rehabilitation of an addict, he will provide support while ensuring the victim’s identity remains confidential.

    Bukhari urged the administration to take serious measures to nab each and every person who is responsible for the smuggling and sale of drugs in society.

    He said these criminals are playing with the lives of people, and they must face severe punishment.

    SRINAGAR: Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari on Sunday said that Jammu and Kashmir is in dire need of sustained peace for speedy development and prosperity of the region.

    He was addressing a party convention in the Karpora Nishat area of Srinagar.

    Emphasizing on peace and tranquility in JK, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari said, “A sustained peace is of utmost importance for the development of Jammu and Kashmir, and the wellbeing of its people.”

    He added, “New Delhi may or may not require a peaceful environment here, but we desperately do need it because the future of our youth is at stake due to the protracted uncertainty and turmoil. Only a peaceful environment can pave a way for a better Jammu and Kashmir.”

    Mr. Bukhari said that a long phase of violence and turmoil has left JK incapable of maintaining a sustainable developmental pace.

    He said, “Look at the pathetic condition of Srinagar in terms of its developmental deficit. Once upon a time, it was considered one of the most beautiful cities in the world, but we could not maintain the required pace for its development, over the years, due to the prevailing uncertainty.”

    He promised that once the Apni Party gets mandated to form a Govt in JK, it will ensure equivalent and speedy development across the region.

    He said, “Our key agenda is to work for Jammu and Kashmir’s development and prosperity, thus, we will ensure a rapid pace of modern infrastructure development here, once we are elected to form a Govt.”

  • Apni Party Leader Arrested In Jammu

    SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested eight persons including an Apni Party leader for allegedly resorting to stone pelting that took place during an ‘encroachment’ drive at Malik Market area of Jammu on Saturday, a local news gatherer KNT reported.

    Police said that after the stone-pelting, CCTV footage was checked, and ‘culprits’ were identified. Police added that a District Development Council member from Doda and Apni Party leader Mehraj Malik among eight people have so far been arrested.

    “They have been arrested under relevant sections of the law,” police said.

    Notably, some people resorted to minor stone-pelting amid protest during an anti-encroachment drive at Malik Market in Jammu in presence of civil and police administration officials
