  • Six Injured In JK Road Accident

    SRINAGAR: At least six persons were injured after a sumo vehicle collided with a school bus in Qalamabad village of Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district this afternoon.

    Reports said that a sumo vehicle bearing registration number JK05D 6636 collided with a school bus bearing number JK 09B 8018 at Mirpora Qalamabad, resulting in injuries to six persons.

    The injured persons identified as Ruqaya Begum (25), Mushtaq Ahmad Ahanger (42) – residents of Audoora, Mohammad Asif (22), resident of Lachh, Aaqib Ahmad (21) of Lawoosa, Reyaz Ahmad Wani (30) of Warpora and Sajjad Ahmad (28) of Yahama were evacuated from the site to NTPHC Qalamabad for immediate treatment. Two among the injured, Ruqaya Begum and Reyaz Ahmad Wani, were sent to District Hospital Handwara while four others were discharged after given first aid at the health facility.

    Confirming it, SHO Qalamabad Dr Anam Manhas said that all the persons injured in the accident are safe. “Four persons were discharged at NTPHC Qalamabad after first-aid while two, including a pregnant woman, are at District Hospital for preferential treatment to rule out chance of any complications’ caused in to the accident”, she said adding due cognizance has been taken into the incident.   • Govt Hands Over Appointment Orders To Newly Inducted JKAS Officers

    SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Government has appointed candidates to the Junior Scale of the Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service, J&K Police (Gazetted) Service, and J&K Accounts (Gazetted) Service under direct recruitment quota through the Combined Competitive Examination, 2021. The selection process was conducted by the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission, and the appointments have been made on a temporary basis with immediate effect.

    According to the Government Order No:495-JK(GAD) of 2023, dated 25-04-2023, the appointees will be on probation for a period of two years during which they will undergo training and pass the Departmental Examination as prescribed under rules. The candidates allotted to Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service, J&K Police (G) Service, and J&K Accounts (G) Service will report to the Director General, J&K Institute of Management, Public Administration, and Rural Development for undergoing the foundation course as per the Training Policy notified vide Government Order No. 916-GAD of 2019 dated 9.8.2019.

    The candidates who fail to join within a period of 21 (twenty-one) days from the date of issuance of the appointment order will forfeit their right to appointment, which shall be deemed to have been cancelled without any further notice.

    The salary of the appointees will be drawn and disbursed to them after the receipt of satisfactory reports in respect of genuineness of Qualification/Date of Birth/Relevant Category Certificates and subject to production of an affidavit (as per Annexure-II) to this order. In case any candidate is adversely reported upon by the verifying agency or any certificate is found not to be genuine/valid, he/she shall have no claim to hold the post to which appointed, and his/her appointment shall automatically stand cancelled without any further notice.

    The appointment/allocation of the candidates to the respective services shall be subject to the outcome of the writ petition(s), if any, pending adjudication before any Competent Court of law.

    It is important to note that the names in the appointment order shall not be construed in order of their seniority, which shall be determined by their respective cadre controlling departments in terms of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Classification, Control, and Appeal) Rules, 1956.

    By order of the Lieutenant Governor, Sanjeev Verma, IAS Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, issued the order. The appointees have been asked to produce the required certificates in original, including qualification, date of birth, domicile, relevant category, and any other certificate required under rules, in order to be allowed to join.

  • NC Removes Ex-Legislator From Party For Six Years

    SRINAGAR: National Conference Tuesday expelled former MLA Ganderbal Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar from basic membership of the party for six  years over his anti-party activities.

    Ishfaq Jabbar was an MLA from Ganderbal and was also the partie district president for Ganderbal.

    JKNC on its official Twitter handle informed that the order was issued by party general secretary.

    In a tweet, it said, “Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar, Ex MLA R/O Ganderbal has been removed from the basic membership of JKNC for 6 years in view of his anti-Party activities and causing indiscipline. The order has been issued by the General Secretary JKNC,” JKNC tweeted.

    Earlier in the day, NC president Dr Farooq Abdullah had said that there is no space for leaders in the party who are involved in anti party activitie and cause indiscipline in the party.

    NIA Court Issues Proclamation Order Against JeM Commander

    SRINAGAR:National Investigation Agency Court Pulwama on Tuesday issued Proclamation order under section 82 CRPC in respect of a designated militant and an active militant in various militant activities.

    In a handout, the police said that proclamation has been issued in respect of designated militant Ashiq Ah Negroo, who is involved in various terrorist activities including Case FIR No. 42/2022 under section 20, 38 UAPA (Unlawful Activities Prevention Act) of Police Station Rajpora and in respect of active militant Reyaz Ah Dar involved in case FIR No 239/2022 under section 307 IPC, 16, 18, 20, 23, 38 UAPA of Police Station Pulwama. Court has given them 30 days to surrender before the competent authority.

    According to police spokesman, before issuing proclamation, NIA Court has already issued NBW (Non-Bailable warrant) open ended warrant. Proclamation order was pasted in their native places and also on the conspicuous places of the villages along with the concerned police, reads the statement.
