Orange Alert Issued By MeT For Heavy Rain, Lightning

SRINAGAR: Weather department on Thursday issued an orange warning for isolated heavy rain and thunder and lightning in Jammu and Kashmir on March 31.
Quoting a meteorological official here told GNS that there was forecast for scattered light rain and thunder over Jammu and Kashmir in the next 24 hours.
For subsequent two days, he said, there was possibility of widespread moderate rain, thunder and snow (mainly over upper reaches).
Besides orange alert for March 31 for “isolated heavy rain thunder/ lightning” and disruption of traffic on Jammu-Srinagar Highway, the MeT department has also issued yellow warning for March 30 and April 1 to 3.
There are four types of colour codes signifying the level of caution: green which means no action, yellow—situation to be watched, orange–government agencies need to be prepared for severe weather and red –action needed by the agencies.
Meanwhile the minimum temperatures recorded increase at most places and settled in Qazigund nad Pahalgam.
The official said that Srinagar recorded a low of 6.6°C against 5.5°C on the previous night and it was 0.5°C above normal for the summer capital.
Qazigund, he said, recorded a low of 4.6°C against 2.6°C on the previous night and it was 0.1°C below normal for the gateway town of Kashmir.

Pahalgam, he said, recorded a low of 0.8°C against minus 0.3°C on the previous night and it was 0.8°C below normal for the famous tourist resort in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
Kokernag recorded a low of 4.9°C against 4.2°C on the previous night and it was 0.2°C above normal for the place, the officials said.
Gulmarg recorded a low of 0.0°C, the same as on the previous night and it was 0.8°C above normal for the world famous skiing resort in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, he said.
In Kupwara town, he said, the mercury settled at 5.7°C against 4.3°C on the previous night and it was 1.2°C above normal for the north Kashmir area.
Jammu recorded a low of 18.5°C against 15.5°C on the previous night. It was 1.9°C above normal for J&K’s winter capital, he said.
Banihal, he said, recorded a low of 7.0°C (above normal by 0.5°C), Batote 9.0°C (above normal by 0.5°C), Katra 15.2°C (1.4°C above normal) and Bhadarwah 6.2°C (0.8°C above normal). Ladakh’s Leh and Kargil recorded a low of minus 3.0°C and 0.5°C respectively.

Lookout circular, non-bailable warrant issued against Amritpal Singh

Chandigarh: Punjab Police issued a lookout circular (LOC) and non-bailable warrant (NBW) against ‘Waris Punjab De’ chief Amritpal Singh, the fugitive Khalistani sympathiser.
Addressing a press conference, Inspector General of Police (Headquarters), Punjab Sukhchain Singh Gill said that Amritpal Singh, a Khalistani sympathiser, has not been arrested yet.
“We are making all efforts to arrest him. We’re hopeful that we’ll arrest him soon…It is difficult to say that. Punjab Police is receiving full cooperation from other states and central agencies,” the IGP said.
“A lookout circular (LOC) and non-bailable warrant (NBW) have been issued against Amritpal Singh, who remains a fugitive and efforts are being made to arrest him,” said the Information and Public Relations Department Punjab government.
As part of its efforts to arrest Amritpal Singh, Punjab Police released his pictures on Tuesday.
IGP Gill requested people to help them in Amritpal’s arrest.
“There are several pictures of Amritpal Singh in different attires. We are releasing all of these pictures. I request you display them so that people can help us to arrest him in this case,” said Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sukhchain Singh Gill.
One of the pictures shows Amritpal Singh as clean-shaven.

According to a preliminary probe, police said he visited a Gurdwara in Jalandhar district while on the run and escaped on a motorcycle after changing clothes.
According to CCTV visuals, Amritpal Singh was seen escaping in an SUV in Jalandhar on March 18. He is still on the run.
He was asked if Amritpal Singh had fled to any other state.
“In the preliminary investigation, it was found that they went to Gurdwara Sahib in Nangal Ambian where Amritpal changed his clothes and they escaped on two motorcycles. Teams are working, further investigation is underway,” the senior police official told ANI.
He said a total of 154 people have been arrested and taken into custody so far.
“Around 12 weapons, including rifles and revolver, recovered”.
A local villager in Jalandhar said they got know on Tuesday that Amritpal Singh and his accomplices came to the village on March 18.
“We got to know today morning when the police came that Amritpal along with his associates was here in the village on March 18. He changed clothes at local gurudwara, had food and then went away on motorcycle. Babaji who’s being questioned by police now had admitted that Amritpal came here,” the villager said.
Locals of the Jalandhar village claimed Amritpal Singh’s presence in their village on March 18. A CCTV video has emerged sourced from the local villagers. Punjab police have not officially confirmed this.
The video shows a car and men waiting on a bike near a field. Another bike is parked nearby and as the first bike moves with three riders, the other also readies to leave.
Police have recovered the car in which ‘Waris Punjab De’ leader Amritpal Singh fled.
Gill said that they have arrested four people who helped the fugitive pro-Khalistani leader. He said weapons from recovered from the vehicle in which Amritpal Singh was travelling.
“We have arrested four more people in this case – Manpreet, Gurdeep, Harpreet, and Gurpej. These four people had helped Amritpal Singh escape in a Brezza vehicle from the Naka point. We recovered the vehicle, one rifle, and other equipment. Arms Act has been invoked,” he said.
Gill said the four have been arrested under the Arms Act.

This came to be known in the questioning of the four people who have been nabbed,” Gill said at the press conference.
He said National Security Act (NSA) has been invoked against Amritpal Singh.
“A non-bailable warrant has been issued against him on March 18. Police are working as per law. People have suspicions, but the prime accused (Amritpal Singh) has not been arrested yet. As soon as the arrest is made, we will inform you,” he said.
Earlier in the day, the Punjab government told the Punjab and Haryana high court that the National Security Act (NSA) has been invoked against Amritpal Singh.
Punjab Advocate General Vinod Ghai told the High Court in a hearing that a search for the Waris Punjab De leader is on.
“We were armed but we refrained from using force. Some matters are so sensitive, that can’t be explained in court. We are doing a good job in action against Amritpal. NSA has been imposed on him,” the AG told the court.
Amritpal’s lawyer told the court that Amritpal Singh’s father Tarsem Singh was present in court. To this, the court said that since Singh’s father was not a party before it he cannot be heard and if he wanted to submit something, he should file an application.
The court was adjourned till the next hearing slated after four days. It also sought a fresh affidavit from the government.
Punjab Police on Saturday launched an operation against Amritpal Singh and his aides.
The police said that a total of 114 arrests have been made in the case so far, and there is a strong suspicion of ISI angle and foreign funding.

Single Bank Account: If you have more than one bank account, then it is very important for you to know that keeping more than one bank account can cause monetary loss, which people often do not pay attention to.
If the earning person is a salaried individual, it is better to have a single savings bank account than multiple savings accounts. Maintaining a bank account is easy and when you file your income tax return, your job becomes easier as most of your banking details are available in the same bank account.
But apart from convenience, if you have a savings bank account then there are some monetary benefits as well as you will be paying bank service charges on debit card AMC, SMS service charges, minimum balance etc.
As per RBI rule, it is better to have a single bank account as it becomes easier to maintain minimum balance and avoid paying bank service charges like debit card AMC, SMS. If a person is salaried, having a single savings account makes it easier for the earning person while filing income tax returns.

Possibility of forgery
Having more than one bank account is likely to mean an inoperative account, which is most prone to fraud. This happens when a salaried individual changes job from one company to another leaving the salary account. In such a case the salary account becomes inoperative and as stated earlier, such accounts are most prone to fraud.
Threat to CIBIL Score
Having more than one account can be a problem in managing your bank account with the proper minimum balance. In such a case, a default can lead to a penalty which is directly related to your CIBIL rating.
Multiplication of Service Fee
Having a bank account attracts various service charges like SMS alert service charges, debit card AMC, etc. If you have a single bank savings account, you will have to make a one-time payment while in case of multiple banks, the service charge for the savings account is doubled.
Hold on your investment
There is also a requirement of maintaining a minimum balance in order to have a bank savings account. If you have multiple banks then there is a possibility of getting a huge amount stuck in your savings bank account. These days, private banks are asking for a minimum balance of Rs 20,000 and if you have three such bank accounts in three different banks, your Rs 40,000 will get stuck in maintaining the minimum balance of two additional bank savings accounts and investing will not be able to do.
This additional Rs 40,000 can be used for investment purpose and a return of 8 per cent can be earned on the same as debt funds attract at least 8 per cent in short term investments. But, in a bank savings deposit one would get around 4-05 per cent, which is almost half of what one earns through investing in debt funds.
Income tax fraud
Interest up to Rs 10,000 in a bank savings account is tax exempt and hence TDS is deducted. So, unless you are getting interest of Rs 10,000 in your bank savings account, your bank will not deduct TDS, it may happen that your bank has not deducted TDS like in your single bank account.
10,000 is not the interest earned in a financial year, but after adding the entire interest in all your savings account, it may cross Rs.10,000, making you liable to deduct TDS. In such a situation, you will have to give this information to the Income Tax Department during ITR filing. Failure to do so would result in income tax fraud, which was done unknowingly.

Non-bailable arrest warrants issued against former Pak PM Imran Khan

Islamabad: Two non-bailable arrest warrants were issued against ousted prime minister Imran Khan on Monday for failing to appear in courts in the Toshakhana case and for threatening a woman magistrate while addressing a public gathering here last year.
Khan, the 70-year-old former cricketer-turned-politician, who has been recovering from a gunshot injury from an assassination attempt in Wazirabad last year, has skipped indictment hearings in these cases.
The courts of Additional District and Sessions Judge Zafar Iqbal (hearing the Toshakhana case) and Senior Civil Judge Rana Mujahid Rahim (hearing the threatening judge case) issued arrest warrants for Imran and instructed the police to present him before the courts on March 18 and March 21 respectively.
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief was in the crosshairs for buying gifts, including an expensive Graff wristwatch he had received as the premier at a discounted price from the state depository called Toshakhana and selling them for profit.
Meanwhile, a team of Islamabad Police flew to Lahore to arrest Khan for threatening a woman judge after a district and sessions court issued his non-bailable arrest warrant for failing to attend the hearing in that case.
The case against Khan, the chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party was registered in August last year, over his remarks at a rally here, in which he warned Additional District and Sessions Judge Zeba Chaudhry and top police officials of dire consequences for their “biased” attitude towards his party.
He also blamed them for the treatment meted out to his aide Shehbaz Gill, whom he alleged was subjected to torture in judicial custody.
Initially, Khan was booked under various sections of the Pakistan Penal Code after the Islamabad High Court initiated contempt of court proceedings against the former premier.

In September last year, Khan appeared before the sessions judge to personally apologise to Chaudhry.
Consequently, the Islamabad High Court removed terrorism charges against Khan.
However, a similar case was filed against him after the FIR was registered.
Khan has heavily criticised the state institutions after a botched attempt by police to arrest him from his Zaman Park residence in Lahore earlier this month.
According to Khan, he was facing at least 80 different cases in various courts across Pakistan.
Khan was ousted from power in April last year after losing a no-confidence vote in his leadership, which he alleged was part of a US-led conspiracy targeting him because of his independent foreign policy decisions on Russia, China, and Afghanistan.

Lookout circular issued against man for duping people via Dubai-based betting app

Bhubaneswar: A Lookout Circular was issued against a person who was accused of duping around 800 people of crores of rupees through a betting app operated from Dubai.
The Bureau of Immigration (BoI) issued the Lookout Circular, used by authorities to restrict the movement of a travelling person who is wanted, at the request of the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Odisha police.
The agency on Thursday said it will reward anyone giving credible information leading to the arrest of the accused, identified as Md Saif who has several addresses in India.
The EOW has lodged an FIR based on the complaint of about 800 investors of Odisha’s Ganjam district who were allegedly duped by the accused.
They were lured into putting their money into 18football.com, a betting/gaming website and a mobile app, with a promise of a three per cent daily compound return on investment. Besides, they were told that they will get different types of bonuses, the EOW said.
They were asked to bet money on some football matches advised by the website/app. They were also provided with “mentors” to assist them in betting.
The 18football.com scam involved people across the state and the fraud amount involved is suspected to be more than Rs 1000 crore, out of which EOW has been able to trace transactions of approximately Rs 300 crore till now.
The operators of the app were engaged in social work and charity in rural areas to make people believe that it was a bonafide organisation.

“The fraudsters initially paid the promised return to the investors. When the membership increased, they stopped making any payment and closed the app. They used multiple shell companies to route the ill-gotten money,” the EOW said in a statement.
One such company was based in Kolkata and its two directors were arrested earlier.
“They had confessed to have got small amounts of commission to run the shell company and received orders from Md Saif from Dubai,” the statement added.
Anyone giving credible information on phone no 8249600495, leading to the arrest of the accused, will be suitably awarded, the agency said, adding that name and details of the informer will be kept secret.

The DMA, as per GNS, said that a ‘low’ danger level avalanche is likely to occur above 3500 metres above sea level in Doda and Kishtwar districts.
It similarly expressed apprehension of a ‘medium’ danger level avalanche above 2500 metres in Bandipora, Ganderbal and Kupwara districts.

Soiled notes which have become unusable due to circulation in the market for a long time can also be exchanged.
Such notes can be changed from the RBI office, very burnt notes, or notes sticking together can also be changed, but the bank will not take them, you will have to take them to the issue office of RBI.
