Thieves Steal Iron Road Dividers, Residents Call For Increased Night Patrols

SRINAGAR: In a strange act, miscreants in Sopore town of northern Baramulla district have stolen the iron-fitted road divider reflectors, installed a month ago across the town.
Locals said that, the road divider reflectors which were installed a month ago across Sopore town were stolen by the miscreants.
“At multiple locations including degree college crossing, Shah Dargah etc, the iron-fitted reflectors have been stolen”, they said.
A local resident said: “Theft incidents across the town is a great concern, there must be a thorough investigation. Police must intensify night patrolling, as miscreants are taking advantage of darkness.”
Confirming the incident, an official from the executing agency – Roads and Buildings Department, Sopore said that miscreants have stolen the reflectors, however, the same will be replaced so that people in particular drivers won’t face any inconvenience.
“There are few spots which need installation of reflectors, soon they too will be covered”, officials added.
Pertinent to mention here that, the reflectors were installed a month ago after many requests from the general public as the roads across the town were turning out to be the reason for accidents during evening hours. (KNO)

Woman burns her face while trying to remove the wrinkles with a steam iron

As women get older their skin changes and it no longer looks plump and youthful. Wrinkles around the eyes, often known as crow’s feet, is one of the most common skin problem faced by women growing old. Women use various cosmetics and surgeries to reverse the signs of ageing, and most of them are expensive and risky. Some women go to any extent to get those wrinkles removed. One such example of woman going to an extreme to get her wrinkles removed came from Philadelphia.

Reportedly, Jessica, 44 year, from Philadelhipa was fed up with the cosmetics and surgeries which couldn’t prevent her wrinkles and as a final resort tried to iron her face with a steam iron. Jessica partially burned her face. Speaking to The Fauxy, Jessica said “I was ironing my cloth and realised that steam iron helps in getting rid of wrinkles. I have tried all types of cosmetics and even surgery but nothing helped. I also tried Instagram filters but people started asking why I always keep phone with Instagram camera on in front of my face. I was fed up and hence, decided to steam iron my face”.

Jessica has to now undergo plastic surgery and she has asked her surgeons to keep the wrinkle free plastic on her face. Speaking to The Fauxy, the surgeon said “Steam iron removes wrinkles from cloths, so if she really wanted to get rid of wrinkles she should have put a clot on her face before ironing it”.

Jessica isn’t alone to go this far to get rid of wrinkles, a lady in India reached Bhagweshwar Dham to get her wrinkles removed.

MP: Govt school students complain of pain after taking iron supplement

Burhanpur: More than 40 students complained of stomach ache after they were given iron supplement pills at a government school in Madhya Pradesh’s Burhanpur district on Tuesday, an official said.
As many as 41 students of Class 6, 7 and 8 of the Government Middle School at Abhada village in Nepanagar tehsil complained of stomach pain and vomiting, Chief Medical Health Officer Pradeep Mojeph said.

Driver Dies After Being Hit By Iron Rod

SRINAGAR: A driver died after being hit by an iron road near an under construction tunnel in Sonamarg area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Tuesday.
Quoting an official the news agency KNO reported that the driver was hit by an iron road while offloading iron from his truck near the under construction tunnel And Felt unconscious.
He said soon after the incident he was taken to sub-district hospital Kangan where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
He has been identified as Balvinder Singh.
Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident and have started further investigation.

3-month-old girl branded multiple times by hot iron rod as treatment in MP’s Shahdol, dies

Shahdol: A 3-month-old girl, who was allegedly branded 24 times by a hot iron rod in the name of treatment in Madhya Pradesh’s Shahdol, died on Saturday night, an official said.
Shahdol Collector Vandana Vaidya said the police were taking necessary action in the matter.
“As soon as the incident was reported, I got in touch with the doctors. They said that the reason for her death was acute pneumonia. Such malpractices have been reported in Shahdol for a long time. The administration has been making every possible effort to put an end to such malpractices. However, despite such efforts, some incidents do take place. We will ensure that such incidents are not repeated,” the Collector told ANI.
Earlier, the Collector said holding more awareness campaigns was the only way to prevent such incidents.
Further investigation in the matter was underway.
Meanwhile, the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) chairperson, Priyank Kanoongo said he had taken note of the incident and a notice was being issued to the local administration to ensure strict action in the matter.
“We have been receiving complaints from MP that a child was branded with a hot iron rod in the name of treatment. The Commission has zero tolerance such practices and takes strict action against them. We are issuing a notice (to the local administraton) and will ensure that strict action is taken against the guilty,” Kanoongo told ANI.
