    The Lt Governor conveyed his best wishes and blessings of entire J&K UT to the players, attending training camp at Srinagar.

    “I am confident that our contingent will win laurels and make the country proud,” the Lt Governor said.

    The Wushu players are attending the National Coaching camp in Srinagar organised by Sports Authority of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports after which they will leave for China on August 5, 2023. (GNS)

    New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi interacted with students at the Post Graduate Men’s Hostel of the Delhi University here on Friday.

    Dressed in a white T-shirt and trouser and sporting a trimmed beard, Gandhi arrived at the hostel to interact with the students.

    Sources said he sought to know about the issues faced by the students and their career plans. He also had lunch with the students at the hostel.

    Last month, Gandhi had interacted with students preparing for the Union Public Service Commission and the Staff Selection Commission examinations in Mukherjee Nagar area here.

    In Mukherjee Nagar, Gandhi was seen seated on a chair on the roadside with students as he asked them about their expectations and experiences.

    New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday interacted with students preparing for the Union Public Service Commission in Mukherjee Nagar area of Delhi.

    Rahul was seen sitting on a chair along with some other UPSC aspirants while the rest of the students kept standing. Gandhi interacted with students for a few minutes, asking them about their ongoing preparations and expectations.

    Mukherjee Nagar is one of the prominent UPSC coaching hub in the national capital. The 2023 Civil Services Preliminary exam will be held on May 28.

    The civil services exam is considered one of the toughest in the country.

    Students go through rigorous preparations to crack and qualify in all three stages of the exam — the Preliminary, the Mains, and the Interview.

    Rahul met the students an hour after a Surat court rejected his plea seeking a stay on his conviction in the 2019 criminal defamation case on the ‘Modi surname’ remark.

    The former Wayanad MP will now have to move Gujarat High Court or the Supreme Court to challenge his conviction by the Surat court.

    Chennai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday visited the Theppakadu Elephant camp in Mudumalai Tiger Reserve in Tamil Nadu and interacted with the mahout couple, Bomman and Bellie.

    The couple had featured in the Oscar-winning documentary ‘The Elephant Whisperers’. He also appreciated the care shown by the couple towards the elephants Reghu and Bommi in ‘The Elephant Whisperers’.

    Prime Minister Modi arrived at the Theppakadu Elephant Camp from Bandipur Tiger Reserve in Karnataka by road.

    He spoke to the couple for quite some time and also interacted with other mahouts and ‘kavadis‘ who take care of elephants at the camp.

    The Prime Minister also fed sugarcane to the elephants in the camp.

    After interacting with the mahouts, kavadis, and Bomman, Bellie and spending time with captive elephants, the Prime Minister left for Mysore.

    Heavy security arrangements were in place during his visit to the camp. There are intelligence reports of the Maoists’ presence in the Masanagudi area and Tamil Nadu police and Central forces were present in large numbers during the visit of the Prime Minister.

    Jammu, Mar 4 (GNS): Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha interacted with a group of 30 students from Higher education institutions of Assam visiting J&K under “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” initiative.

    Interacting with the students, the Lt Governor extended his best wishes for their exploratory journey across UT to explore its culture, heritage, literature & cuisine and to strengthen the emotional bonds between the people of J&K and Assam.

    The Lt Governor said that student exchange program, part of Yuva Sangam, will connect divine energy of Brahmaputra and Vitasta, provide a strong base for national composite identity and it will allow young generation of both Assam & J&K to learn & share values and experiences.

     “Despite the distance of 2500 kilometres between Jammu and Guwahati, students will find here the same ancient spiritual and cultural richness for which Assam has been known since ages. This is the true celebration of the diversity as well as unity of the Nation,” the Lt Governor said.

    During their one-week tour of Jammu Kashmir the students will visit various places including Raghunath temple, Suchetgarh Border, Chenab Rail Bridge, Historical Pahari architecture.

    The students were accompanied by Sh Manoj Singh Gaur, Director, IIT Jammu and their coordinators. (GNS)
