BJP, RSS have ‘dangerous intention’ of bringing one-party rule to country: Gehlot

Jaipur: Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Wednesday said the BJP and the RSS have the “dangerous intention” of bringing one-party rule to the country, and cited Russia and China as examples.

Addressing farmers at a Kisan Sabha in Bikaner’s Jasrasar, he said BJP leaders keep talking about a “Congress-free” India.

“What is the meaning of BJP leaders talking about Congress-free India. What it means — a one-party rule. It is very dangerous intention of the RSS as well of the BJP. If the country does not understand this in time the coming generations will suffer and elections will be held like in Russia and China,” he said.

Under the one-party rule, elections will be fake and only one party will come to power again and again, he said.

It will also mean an end to the practice of politicians going to the poorest of the poor, to the Dalits, farmers and elders to seek their votes to become MLAs, MPs and Sarpanches, the Congress leader said.

China is a one-party system. Russia is not, but one party now dominates its parliament.

Gehlot said the agenda of the central government is taking a “dangerous turn” and the country needs to understand that.

The meeting was also addressed by AICC in-charge for Rajasthan Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, PCC president Govind Singh Dotasra, former leader of opposition Rameshwar Dudi and others.

Gehlot said Prime Minister Narendra Modi should break his silence over the issues related to the Adani group being raised by the Congress party.

He said PM Modi should also clarify his relationship with industrialist Gautam Adani.

Earlier, Gehlot inspected a ‘Mahangai Rahat Shivir’ being run by his government and interacted with the beneficiaries of various schemes of the state government.

Atiq, Ashraf have not been killed without govt’s intention: SP’s Sambhal MP

    [ad_1]

Sambhal: Samajwadi Party MP Shafiq-ur-Rehman Barq on Sunday hit back at Uttar Pradesh minister Dharampal Singh over his remarks that the opposition got Atiq Ahmad and his brother Ashraf killed, saying the murder did not happen “without the government’s intention”.

Speaking to reporters here, the Sambhal MP said, “The entire country knows how the murder took place and who got it done. They (Atiq and Ashraf) were in police custody. It was their (government’s) responsibility, and it did not happen without their (government’s) intention. They are trying to hide it, and on the contrary putting the blame on the opposition.”

Barq, 92, said that the court could have given Atiq Ahmad the capital punishment or any other punishment. “We would not have any objections. But, this time, the duo (Atiq and Ashraf) have not been killed without their (government’s) signal.”

UP minister Singh on Saturday alleged that the opposition parties got gangster-politician Atiq Ahmad and his brother Ashraf killed, fearing that the duo would reveal their secrets.

Gangster-politician Atiq Ahmad (60) and Ashraf were shot dead at point-blank range by three men posing as journalists on the night of April 15 while police personnel were escorting them to a medical college in Prayagraj for a check-up.

They were brought to Prayagraj from Gujarat and Bareilly prisons for interrogation in connection with the killing of Umesh Pal and his two police security guards earlier this year.

“The truth is that the opposition is involved in getting Atiq killed. Some serious secrets were about to be revealed, that’s why the opposition got him murdered,” Singh, the state animal husbandry and dairy development minister, had said.

The three assailants of Ahmad were arrested by the police after the murder. The UP government has constituted a three-member judicial commission to probe the matter.

Sambhal district will go to polls in the first phase of the urban local body elections, where voting will be held on May 4.

‘Malafide intention’: Adani Group on Hindenburg Research’s allegations of fraud

    [ad_1]

Soon after US’s Hindenburg Research investigative report accused Adani Group of the improper wide use of businesses established in offshore tax havens and expressed worry about excessive debt levels, the conglomerate released a statement terming the report as ‘malicious combinations of selective misinformation.’

The statement was released by Adani Group’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Jugeshinder Singh who stated the allegations made are stale, baseless and discredited that have been tested and rejected by India’s highest courts.

Pointing that the timings of the report are to undermine the Adani Group’s reputation, the statement read, “The report’s publication clearly betrays a brazen, malafide intention to undermine the Adani Group’s reputation with the principal objective of damaging the upcoming Follow-On-Public Offering from Adani Enterprises.”

It further said that its investors are unperturbed by the report and have full faith and will not be influenced by “one-sided, motivated and unsubstantiated reports with vested interests.”

The firm published an investigative document titled ‘Adani Group: How The World’s 3rd Richest Man Is Pulling The Largest Con In Corporate History‘ and revealed findings of their two-year investigation presenting evidence that the Rs 17.8 trillion worth Adani group has engaged in a brazen stock manipulation and accounting fraud scheme over the course of decades.

According to the report, Gautam Adani, the Adani Group’s founder and chairman, has a net worth of about $120 billion, which he has increased by more than $100 billion in the last three years, primarily as a result of stock price growth in the group’s seven most important publicly traded companies, which have increased by an average of 819 percent during that time.

As a reaction to the announcement, the market capitalization of the seven Adani Group equities fell by 46,086 crore on Wednesday.

On Wednesday, Adani Total Gas lost Rs 12,366 crore, followed by Adani Ports, which lost Rs 8,342 crore, and Adani Transmission, which lost Rs 8,039 crore.
