Bareilly: In a shocking incident, a woman who had been married three days ago, was found in a naked condition with nearly 40 per cent burn injuries on the Delhi-Lucknow national highway in Bareilly.
The condition of the woman, 25, is said to be critical.
The doctors treating her said that attempts had been made to strangle the woman to death but she survived.
According to reports, the woman got married on April 22 but she returned to her maternal house the next day.
On Tuesday morning, she was found by some locals in the bushes near a medical college in the Fatehganj West area.
The woman somehow managed to give her contact details to the police who called her father.
Emergency medical officer Dr J.P. Maurya said, “She was brought to the ward by police with chemical burn injuries, possibly caused by acid, on her face, neck, arms and chest. There are marks on her neck which suggest that someone tried to strangle her. She was examined by a gynaecologist, ENT surgeon and burn specialist who referred her to a higher medical centre in Lucknow as her condition was deteriorating.”
Multiple teams have been deployed by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Prabhakar Chaudhary to crack the case.
Rajkumar Agarwal, ASP (Bareilly rural), said, “She was found about 20 km from her house. We have questioned her husband, but he was unaware of the incident. Her father is yet to give a written complaint. We are also questioning a few suspects.”
New Delhi: An Indian national died in Khartoum after sustaining bullet injuries in the violence-hit Sudanese capital city.
The Indian embassy in Khartoum said the deceased, Albert Augestine, was working in a Dal Group Company in Sudan.
Condoling the death of the Indian national, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said the situation in Khartoum remains one of “great concern” and that India will continue to monitor the developments in that country.
“It has been reported that Mr Albert Augestine, an Indian National working in a Dal Group Company in Sudan who got hit by a stray bullet yesterday succumbed to his injuries,” the Indian mission tweeted.
“The embassy is in touch with family and medical authorities to make further arrangements,” it said.

External Affairs Minister Jaishankar said he was “deeply grieved” over the death of the Indian national.
“Deeply grieved to learn about the death of an Indian national in Khartoum. The Embassy is making all efforts to extend fullest assistance to the family,” he said on Twitter.
“The situation in Khartoum remains one of great concern. We will continue to monitor developments,” he added.
Explosions and clashes were reported in various areas in Khartoum in the backdrop of escalating tension between a paramilitary force and Sudan’s Army.
On Saturday, the Indian embassy advised Indian nationals in Sudan to take utmost precautions and stay indoors after Khartoum witnessed large-scale violence.
According to the official data, the number of Indians in Sudan is around 4,000 including, 1,200 who have settled down in the country decades ago. Sudan’s military captured power in a coup in October 2021 and it has been running the country through a sovereign council since then.
There has been a dispute between the Army and the para-military over a proposed timeline for handing over power to a civilian government.
Jagdalpur: Five Congress workers sustained burn injuries during the ‘Mashaal march’ campaign launched by the party against the Centre over Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification and “to save democracy” in Jagdalpur on Friday.

Mumbai: Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan has shared another health update on his recovery after he injured himself on the sets of his upcoming film ‘Project K’.
Amitabh, who religiously has a meet-and-greet with his fans outside his home on Sundays, took to his blog to share the update.
He wrote: “The injuries heal slowly and today hope the effort is enough to climb the board and wave to the well wishers at the GATE… being away from them that have such sincerity with them is not approved in any manner… the life and the breath of the well-wisher is supreme… they live so I live.”
It was earlier in March, when Amitabh suffered an injury during the shoot of ‘Project K’, in Hyderabad.
The actor shared his health update on his blog. After consulting a doctor and CT scan at AIG Hospital in Hyderabad, he left for Mumbai, where he is taking rest at his home.
The 80-year-old suffered a muscle tear to his right rib cage during an action sequence of the film. He wrote that after the incident the film shoot was postponed.
‘Project K’ is science fiction film written and directed by Aswhini Dutt. Being shot simultaneously in Telugu and Hindi, it features Amitabh, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone and Disha Patani.

A police officer told GNS, the selection grade constable of IRP 18 Battallion namely Umer Farooq of Poonch district was found dead with gunshot wounds.
He was immediately shifted to GMC Anantnag hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.

Srinagar, Mar 7 (GNS): A female student from Kashmir suffered injuries after allegedly being attacked by an auto-driver near Friends Colony New Delhi on Tuesday morning, reliable sources said.
They told GNS that a medical student (name withheld) currently undergoing internship, was attacked with some sharp object by an auto-driver after an argument ensued over fare. The female student, they said, suffered abdominal injuries in the incident and was evacuated to a nearby health facility for treatment.
“Before the police could reach the spot, the alleged auto-driver managed to escape”, they said.
When contacted, a senior police officer at Friends Colony Police Station, New Delhi told GNS that they have registered a case into the incident. “A manhunt has been launched soon after the reporting of the incident to nab the culprit”, the police officer said.(GNS)

Ahmedabad: The police in Gujarat’s Palanpur are looking for three to four miscreants who thrashed a youth after kidnapping him in a love affair case. The injured youth later succumbed to his injuries.
Banaskanatha district SP Akshayraj Makwana told mediapersons on Friday, “According to Aryan Modi’s dying declaration, on Thursday afternoon, he was kidnapped by three to four persons, as he was having an affair with a girl.”
They took him to an isolated place, where they first beat up Aryan, and then forced him to drink some liquid. Later, he was abandoned on the road after which he returned home. On seeing his condition, Aryan’s family members rushed him to a hospital, Makwana said.
When the police came to know about the incident, they first recorded Aryan’s statement in the presence of an executive magistrate. Aryan later succumbed to his injuries.
The police have formed four teams to nab the accused persons.
