Poonch, Mar 16 (GNS): Two CRPF personnel suffered injuries due to alleged mishandling of weapon by a para-military trooper outside Government Degree College Poonch on Thursday morning, officials said.
They told GNS that at around 11 AM, one constable Navjot Rai, in a vehicle belonging to CRPF 200 Battalion D Company, while mishandling his weapon discharged fire, resulting in injuries to himself besides another colleague SI Rajini Kanta.
The incident, they said, occurred outside Government Degree College, Poonch.
“The injured duo was evacuated from the site to District Hospital Poonch for treatment”, they said.
Meanwhile a police official has also confirmed the incident to GNS saying that a team is on the site to collect the relevant details. (GNS)

Ghaziabad: A leopard strayed into the court complex under the Kavinagar police station area here on Wednesday afternoon and injured six people, police said.
“Around six people have sustained injuries after being attacked by the animal, which is still on the court premises,” Assistant Commissioner of Police Abhishek Srivastav said.
A joint operation of police and the forest department is underway to rescue the leopard, he said.
According to police officials, the court premises were vacated after news of the animal’s presence spread.
“Teams of the forest department and local police reached the complex and assisted some people who were stuck inside,” Srivastav said, adding that the injured have been hospitalised.

Kabul: Two commuters were killed and nine others injured in a road crash in Afghanistan’s Samangan province, provincial traffic police said on Sunday.
The accident took place late Saturday in the Daulatabad area of Hazrat Sultan district when a car collided with another vehicle coming from the opposite direction, killing two travelers on the spot and injuring nine others with some in critical condition, Xinhua News Agency reported.
Congested roads, old vehicles, and reckless driving could be the main reason for road accidents in the war-ravaged country.
Similar road accidents have injured 16 people in Afghanistan’s eastern Parwan and northern Baghlan provinces over the past couple of days.
