Video: 6 dead, 3 injured in Swapnalok complex fire in Secunderabad

Hyderabad: Major fire broke out at the famous Swapnalok Complex in Secunderabad on Thursday evening.
According to DCP North Zone Deepti Chandana, six persons were dead so far out of which two males & four females and three got critically injured after they jumped from the complex to escape from the fire.
The firefighters swung into action and evacuated as many as possible people from the building. More than ten fire tenders were pressed into service.
The public present at the commercial complex witnessed the smoke billowing from the 7th and 8th floors. Later the fire engulfed the two floors of the building.
“As of now more than a dozen fire tenders are working in fire extinguishing work and efforts are on to control the fire, we are also assessing the situation,” said Srinivas Reddy, the District Fire Officer.
Meanwhile, GHMC Mayor Gadwal Vijayalaxmi also arrived and spoke with Disaster Response Force (DRF) Chief Y Prakash Reddy.
The firefighters used high-rise cranes to rescue the public present in the building.
The traffic came to a standstill after the incident took on the busiest commercial area. The traffic police diverted the vehicular traffic in the area.

South Zone Additional DCP speaking to ANI, said that a fire break out at 7.30 pm due to a short circuit. Minister Talasani Yadav reached the location and supervised the rescue operation.
The firefighters have successfully rescued 8 persons struck in the complex and efforts are to evacuate those who were raising hues and crying for help from the top of the complex.

Several Injured In Road Mishap

SRINAGAR: At least nine persons were injured in a road accident that took place in Thune area of Kangan in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Wednesday.
Quoting an official, news agency KNO reported that a load carrier turned turtle near Thune area on Wednesday morning.
He said in the incident at least nine persons were injured and they were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital.
The official said, six among them have been referred to SKIMS for advanced treatment.

FIVE CRPF Personnel Injured In Road Accident

SRINAGAR: The collision between a truck and a CRPF vehicle on Wednesday left five Para-military personnel including 4 officers injured on the Jammu-Udhampur highway.
Official sources said that there was a head-on collision between a speeding private truck and CRPF vehicle near Mand Takri area of Udhampur district of Jammu region in which four CRPF Sub-Inspectors and a trooper sustained injuries.
The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Official sources identified the four injured Assistant Sub Inspectors as Brij Lal, Raj Kumar, Ramesh Kumar and Govind Raj and Selection Grade Constable Ashok Kumar.
Both the vehicles suffered damages, however, the truck driver was unhurt. Police seized the truck and arrested the driver for alleged rash driving. [KNT]

Man Injured After Allegedly Attacked By In-Laws In Central Kashmir

SRINAGAR: A man was hospitalized on Tuesday evening after he was allegedly attacked by in-laws in Narkara area of Central Kashmir Budgam district.
As per reports, a man identified as Zubair Ahmad Ganie son of Mohammad Shaban Ganie, a resident of Narkara Budgam was attacked by in-laws at Narkara.
Ganie received injuries in neck and has been hospitalized, where his condition is said to be ‘stable’, they said.
Meanwhile, Police have taken cognizance of the incident and further investigation has been set into motion. (KDC)

Video: Horrific accident in Telangana leaves two dead, one critically injured

Hyderabad: In a horrific accident, two persons lost their lives and one received serious injuries when two bikes collided head-on in Karimnagar district, Telangana.
The CCTV footage of the accident revealed that the accident occurred when a bike at high speed hit another bike that suddenly turn right. After hitting it, the bike collided with a two-wheeler coming from the opposite direction.
Due to the head-on collision, two persons lost their lives and one received critical injuries. In the accident one more person received minor injuries.
Four killed in accident in Nizamabad, Telangana
In yet another road accident that took place in the Nizamabad district of Telangana state, four people, including a teenager lost their lives on Monday morning.
The victims were identified as Neradi Ganesh (15), Neradi Aditya (25), Sai Ram (27), and Prakash (28). Three of them were from Kondalwadi village in Maharashtra, while one hailed from the Dubba area of the Nizamabad district.
All of them were traveling from Hyderabad to their hometown when the driver lost control of the car and collided with a container truck on National Highway 44 at Chandrayanpalli Tanda of Indalwai Mandal. The impact of the collision was so severe that all four were killed on the spot.
Later, the police shifted the bodies to the Nizamabad Government General Hospital and informed their family members.
These tragic accidents highlight the importance of safe driving and adhering to traffic rules to prevent such unfortunate incidents.

Biker Killed, Pillion rider Critically injured in Rafiabad road Mishap

Sopore, March 12: A 23-years old biker were killed and his pillion rider were critically injured after lost control on speed of two wheeler (bike) and rammed into a tree along road side in Watergam Rafiabad area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Sunday evening.
Reports said that a bike was strongly rammed into a tree near petrol pump in Watergam Rafiabad. In the incident, the biker Musaib Ahmad Bhat 23, Son of Abdul Hameed Bhat of Baghi Rehmat Iqbal Nagar Sopore died instantly, besides injuries to his pillion rider namely Rashib Zahoor Saboon 21, son of Zahoor Ahmad of Baghi Rehmat Iqbal Nagar Sopore, he were immediately evacuated to SDH Sopore, where from doctor referred him SMHS Srinagar for specialized treatment.
Meanwhile, police took the cognizance of this incident and after legal formalities body of Musaib were handed over to the family for last rites.

Student Injured In Assault By Classmate In North Kashmir

SRINAGAR: A student of 8th standard of Imperial Institution Nathipora in Sopore was injured after being assaulted by his fellow classmate on Thursday afternoon.
Quoting an official, news agency KNO reported that the student was attacked by his colleague after appearing in class 8th exam in government high school at Tujjar on Thursday.
He said the student identified as Salib Ashraf received head injury after being hit by a sharp edged tool by his colleague.
“He was immediately rushed to sub district hospital Sopore, where his condition is stated to be stable.”
Meanwhile, police have taken cognisance of the incident and launched a probe in this regard

UP: 2 killed, 2 injured in collision between bike and pickup van

Ballia: Two people were killed and two others injured in a collision between a motorcycle and a pickup van here on Thursday, police said.
The two people who were killed and the two others injured were on the same bikem they said.
Sunil Yadav (30) and Yogendra Yadav (27) were killed while two others were injured in the accident which took place on NH-31, police said.
Station House Officer Sunil Singh said one of the injured was referred to a Varanasi hospital in serious condition.
The bodies have been sent for postmortem examination, he added.

2 killed, 16 injured after train derails in Egypt

Cairo: At least two people were killed and 16 others injured after a train derailed in Qalyub, a city in the Qalyubia Governorate about 23 km north of Egypt’s capital Cairo.
Egypt’s Health Ministry said that 10 of the 16 injured people were receiving medical treatment at the Qalyub Specialist Hospital, adding that their injuries were not life-threatening, Xinhua news agency reported.
The other six injured people were released after suffering minor injuries and bruises.
Meanwhile, Egyptian National Railways said in a statement that the train went through the “closed semaphore” at the Qalyub Train Station and headed toward a blocked railway before colliding with the protection at the end of the railway.
As a result, the locomotive and the first carriage were derailed, the statement said, adding the Egyptian Transportation Ministry formed a committee to investigate the accident.
Meanwhile, Egypt’s Public Prosecutor also ordered an investigation into the Qalyub train collision.
Egypt’s railway system has long been troubled by poorly maintained equipment and poor administration, which frequently results in train derailments and crashes. At least 32 people were killed in a train collision in 2021 in Tahta, a city in southern Egypt. Later that year, a train derailed in Qalyubia, killing 11 people.
