Hyderabad: Unidentified woman murdered in Begum Bazar

Hyderabad: An unidentified woman was murdered by some persons at Begum Bazar in the Old City on Saturday night.
The woman aged around 30 years was found dead in a room located near the Aziz Plaza shopping complex by locals who informed the police. Station House Officer (SHO), Begum Bazar police station along with staff reached the spot and examined the scene.
“Unidentified persons throttled the woman to death. Another person known to the woman is suspected of killing the woman. Closed circuit camera footage is being examined. Now we are waiting for the autopsy report to know if she was sexually assaulted,” said N Shankar, SHO Begum Bazar police station.
A case under Section 302 (murder) of the IPC (Indian Penal Code) has been registered and an investigation is underway.

‘Modi Adani bhai bhai: AAP gheraos BJP’s office in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Members of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) here on Sunday held protests against ‘Gautam Adani and his friend Modi’ and demanded a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) on the findings of the Hindenburg research report which has made a slew of allegations against the business conglomerate led by industrialist Gautam Adani.
The police arrived at the spot and detained the protestors.
The Kejriwal-led party held protests on the issue across several states in the country.

Hyderabad: Organ transplant facility to come up at Gandhi Hospital

Hyderabad: The Telangana government will soon set up an organ transplantation facility in Gandhi General Hospital with eight operating rooms for the welfare of the needy, health minister T Harish Rao said at the House on Saturday.
In response to budget requests made in the Assembly, Harish Rao stated that the proposed hospital will include modular operation theatres (MOT) equipped with cutting-edge technology, intensive care units (ICU), and other facilities where six organs could be transplanted. Within the following five months, he said, the plant will be functioning.
The health minister stated that the 300-bed cancer block at MNJ Cancer Hospital, which was constructed at a cost of Rs 40 crore, will soon be inaugurated. With the addition of the additional block, the hospital’s total bed capacity would rise to 750.

Hyderabad: Tollywood star Rana Daggubati, father named in land grabbing case

Hyderabad: Tollywood star Rana Daggubati and his father, noted film producer D. Suresh Babu, have landed in legal trouble in a case of alleged land grabbing here.
The ‘Baahubali’ actor and his father have been named in the case filed by local businessman Pramod Kumar, who has alleged that father and son are pressuring him to vacate land that belongs to him.
The third additional chief metropolitan magistrate court at Nampally in the city has issued summons to them in this matter.
According to the complaint, the disputed land in Shaikpet was leased out to him in 2014 by Suresh Babu. When the lease ended, Suresh Babu allegedly decided to sell the property to him for Rs 18 crore and a deal was struck.
Pramod Kumar claims that while he has made a payment of Rs 5 crore towards the deal, Suresh Babu has not bothered to complete sale and registration processes. The complainant has alleged that before the matter could be resolved, Suresh Babu transferred the property to his son Rana’s name.

India’s first Formula E world championship race thrills Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The city of Nizams is hosting the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, and passionate fans filled the grandstands as 22 drivers raced the fastest, lightest, most powerful and efficient electric race car ever built – the GEN3 – on a street track constructed around the scenic Hussain Sagar Lake in Hyderabad.
The ABB FIA Formula E World is the world’s first all-electric FIA World Championship and the only sport certified net zero carbon since inception.
It is being organised in India for the first time with the 2023 Greenko Hyderabad E-Prix, and understandably the event is arousing curiosity among commoners and celebrities.
The race has attracted a number of famous names including global cricket icon, Sachin Tendulkar, and the Indian batsman Shikhar Dhawan. Dhawan said: “This was my first time attending a Formula E race and I am thrilled to have been part of this historic event. I have an affinity for fast cars and seeing these GEN3 cars racing on the street track was really exciting. The fact that this is the first sport certified as net zero carbon makes it even more appealing.”
Earlier in the day, Dhawan experienced a hot lap of the track in the Porsche Taycan Safety Car, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds and reaching a top speed of 260 km. Joining Shikhar was Deepak Chahar who said: “Everyone talks about carbon footprint and motorsport has a direct impact on it. With the way electric vehicles are get more popular, I think it’s a guilt-free and innovative version of the sport that will resonate with the audience and pave the way for the future.”
Fans attending the 2023 Greenko Hyderabad E-Prix will get to see home favourites Mahindra Racing and Jaguar TCS Racing compete against two iconic motorsport names – NEOM McLaren Formula E and Maserati MSG Racing – who join the Formula E grid for the first time from this season.

Turkiye consulate thanks Hyderabad; Embassy seeks financial aid for victims

Hyderabad: The Consulate General of Turkiya has profusely thanked Hyderabad for the generous relief it has gathered and sent for the earthquake-affected people.
In a statement that the consulate general has issued to the media it said, “All our warehouses are full of in-kind aids. Thank you Hyderabad. Alhamdulillah…”
The consulate general has requested the people of Hyderabad to now focus on cash donations instead of sending additional items.
In the meantime, Zahid Ali Khan, Editor Siasat Daily, and philanthropist Iftekhar Hussain have jointly appealed for donations for the earthquake-affected people in Turikiye. “Hyderabad has a tradition of contributing generously to the well-being of the people affected by natural and man-made tragedies. Once again Hyderabad should rise to help the earthquake-hit people in Turikiye. Please deposit your donations to the address provided by the Turkish embassy in New Delhi.”
Meanwhile, the Turkish embassy in New Delhi too has sought financial assistance. In a notification, it said, “Volunteers from India who are willing to donate for the people in earthquake-hit areas of Turikiye, kindly find the information of the official bank account of the Turkish Embassy in New Delhi below:

Formula E should happen in outskirts, not in middle of Hyderabad: Congress

Hyderabad: Telangana NSUI president Venkat Balamoor along with leaders of the Congress party on Saturday protested against the manner in which the state government has organised the Formula E races in the middle of the city.
They expressed dissatisfaction by holding placards and sloganeering in front of the Khairatabad signal.
“For the promotion of the new secretariat building chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao and minister K T Rama Rao are creating issues for the public,” said the NSUI president.
Venkat said that the government’s priority should be to take good decisions for farmers and create employment opportunities for the youth rather than such races.
“F1 races should be held in the outskirts of the city, not right in the middle of the city, subjecting the people to grapple with the traffic. In future, we will stop any such races from being conducted in the centre of the city” said Venkat.
Former Telangana Youth Congress Leader Anil Kumar Yadav, Telangana State NSUI general secretary Lalith Yadav, Ritish Rao, National Coordinator Ajay, Vishnuvardhan Reddy, Kundan, Ranjit, Nandu, Dikshith, Pavan among others were present for the protest on Saturday.
Traffic diversions and road blockages were implemented in the city to facilitate the Formula E race and the movement of MLAs taking part in the Assembly sessions.

Hyderabad: International seminar on ‘Global Economic Situation’ begins

Hyderabad: The Indian Air Force’s air commodore P Maheshwar along with Malla Reddy University vice-chancellor Dr V.S.K. Reddy inaugurated a two-day international seminar on the ‘global economic situation’ with reference to market trends in India.
Kicked off on Friday at Malla Reddy University, the seminar will conclude on February 11.
Air commodore Maheshwar who mainly focused on ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ as the source of utility for the people, spoke on the role of MSMEs in bringing up more technological start-ups.
He further guided students about how to be a part of the Indian Air Force and pulled light on new economic drivers that play a major role in the country’s development.
Vice-chancellor Dr Reddy highlighted the importance of the New Education Policy and the importance of getting up-skilled for career development.
He also spoke about how technology was becoming the base for global economic trends while mentioning that management students are the beacons of the upcoming marketing trends.

Hyderabad: Raja Singh arrives by bike at Telangana Assembly

Hyderabad: Goshamahal MLA T Raja Singh on Saturday created a flutter when he came to the Telangana Legislative Assembly on his Royal Enfield bike.
Accompanied by a Personal Security Officer (PSO) the MLA came to the assembly. He was stopped by the police at the entrance barricade. Raja Singh told the police officers that the Bullet Resistant (BR) Scorpio car provided to him is regularly breaking down so he is avoiding using it.
On Friday, Raja Singh was detained near Pragathi Bhavan on Friday when he arrived to hold a protest demanding his Bullet-Resistant vehicle be replaced.

The BJP MLA is currently out on bail, which was given to him by the Telangana High Court after it quashed his imprisonment under the Preventive Detention (PD) Act in the Prophet remarks case.
Previously, Raja Singh’s vehicle developed technical snags forcing it to be taken for repairs. The MLA then also demanded the replacement of his car. Singh is provided with 2+2 round-the-clock security and a BR vehicle.
