Amaravati: Marking the successful culmination of the ‘Jagananne Maa Bhavishyathu’ campaign, the YSRCP leadership declared the results of the mega people’s survey at the Central Party Office in Tadepalli.

Senior leaders including Rajya Sabha MP Alla Ayodhya Rami Reddy, MLC Marri Rajasekhar, Vijayawada West MLA Vellampally Srinivas, Vijayawada Central MLA Malladi Vishnu, and Vijayawada East ACC Devineni Avinash elaborated on the remarkable milestone achieved by the 7 lakh party cadre in mission mode and expressed gratitude to the people for their overwhelming and humbling response.

Highlighting the unprecedented results of the one-of-it’s-kind mega people’s survey, Rajya Sabha MP Alla Ayodhya Rami Reddy said, “Indian politics has never seen such a political survey before. The outcome of the survey is interesting and is going to set a trend for other political parties to follow. In such a short time,1.45 crore households participated in the drive and we received over 1.10 crore missed calls. This shows people’s confidence and belief in the leadership of CM Jagan Mohan Reddy. This also shows how much people trust him in converting their vision into reality on the ground.”

The Rajya Sabha MP also extended his gratitude to the entire party cadre. Thanking the grassroots workers of YSRCP he said that he has never seen a people’s survey of this scale.

“I want to thank all the grassroots workers of YSRCP and the people of Andhra Pradesh for reposing faith in the leadership of Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy. In my 40 years of political life, I have never seen a people’s survey of this scale. Everyone who has been associated with this drive must feel proud of what they have achieved,” said Alla Ayodhya Rami Reddy.

On April 7, YSRCP launched a unique campaign across the state, where the party’s grassroots army was tasked to knock on the doors of all 1.6 crore households and capture the people’s choice as to who they trust for their and their children’s future.

Throwing light on the exemplary party machinery, YSRCP MLC Marri Rajasekhar said, “This milestone wasn’t achieved overnight. The party trained 7 lakh grassroots workers for over six months and meticulously mapped the cadre at each level – be it households, sachivalayams, mandals, assembly constituencies and districts. This strategic and calculated plan of action is what helped us get a rousing response from the public.”

Further elaborating on the results, Vijayawada West MLA Vellampally Srinivas said that the support of a staggering 1.45 crore families is a stamp of approval that today people are satisfied with the work done by the Jagan Government.

“The results prove that the people of Andhra Pradesh trust Chief Minister Jagan for their and their children’s future,” said Srinivas.
Giving insights into the survey results, Vijayawada Central MLA Malladi Vishnu said, “Kakinada, NTR, Bapatla, Chittoor, Ananthpur, and YSR Kadapa are the top districts that saw maximum household participation in the mega people’s survey. In fact, it’s thrilling to see that the slogan, Maa Nammakam Nuvee Jagan which was coined by the people themselves is reverberating loud on the ground today. The mega survey result is an endorsement of CM Jagan’s credibility and today, given your response we are motivated to work harder.”

  • Only 50 pc rural households have tapped drinking water under Jal Jeevan Mission

Only 50 pc rural households have tapped drinking water under Jal Jeevan Mission

    [ad_1]

New Delhi: Even as the deadline of providing drinking water through taps to every rural household under the government’s ambitious Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) by 2024 is fast approaching, only 50.3 per cent of households have been provided with functional household tap connections (FHTCs), while as many as 13 major states have more than 95 per cent households without these connections.

According to sources aware of the developments, while smaller states have been able to provide tapped drinking water access to almost all rural households under their jurisdiction, the Jal Shakti ministry has identified 13 major states where more than 9 crore or 95 per cent of rural households are yet to be provided with FHTCs.

Under JJM, which was launched by the Centre in August 2019, all 18.93 rural households in the country were to be provided drinking water connections by 2024.

The ministry had claimed that at the time of starting the mission, i.e. in August 2019, only 17 per cent of the 18.93 rural households had tapped drinking water.

However, as of June 2022, almost three years since JJM began, only 9.63 crore or 50.3 per cent of rural households had FHTCs.

The ministry on its part has said that several laggard states have indicated to it during review meetings that they are facing many bottlenecks while implementing the scheme.

Just last week, the Parliamentary standing committee on water resources pulled up the Jal Shakti ministry for the poor implementation of JJM by many states.

The committee observed in its report on the JJM (submitted in Parliament on February 10) that merely enumerating the bottlenecks will not go a long way in achieving the set target, rather a comprehensive review of the scheme needs to be undertaken by the department, keeping in view the bottlenecks identified by the states, and also by further identifying the practical difficulties being faced in its implementation.

In this light, the panel has sought a response from the ministry on what action it has taken towards rectifying these aspects, within three months, i.e. by May 2023.

  • Nearly 30 Households in Syed Hamid Pora Locality Srinagar Without Power Supply

    [ad_1]

Srinagar, Jan 26 (GNS): Locals of Gulbadaab Galli, opposite graveyard, in Syed Hamid Pora, Nawab Bazar in central Kashmir’s Srinagar district have expressed their anguish over non-availability of electricity amid ongoing harsh winters.

A local delegation told GNS that nearly thirty households have been left without electricity since Thursday afternoon. “We faced the outage this afternoon following which we reached out to the authorities concerned to know the issue”, they said, adding the authorities assured that they were on job to restore the supply at an earliest”.

“At around evening, when we called them again, they (department) told us that it may take a while to rectify the issue”, they said. “However even after several hours since then also, we are yet to see restoration of the supply”, they claimed.

“First the department kept us waiting for almost a day, promising the supply will be restored and now when we called them again they are saying it is too late for them to do anything now”, they said adding they are more concerned about themselves and not about the plight of common masses amid the prevalent harsh weather.

When contacted, AEE concerned Imtiyaz Ahmad told GNS that the department had put its men on job to rectify the issue. “We are mindful of the sufferings of people, however due to darkness and as a sort of precautionary measure, the men on job were taken off the duty to avoid any exigency in late hours”, he said adding the supply will be restored by or before 10 tomorrow (Friday).
