  • ‘New India’: Need of the hour is to fight hate, says Tushar Gandhi

‘New India’: Need of the hour is to fight hate, says Tushar Gandhi

    [ad_1]

Pune: The need of the hour was to fight hate and the “violence of thoughts” by inculcating ‘ahimsa’ (non violence) in our minds and action, Tushar Gandhi, the great grandson of the Mahatma, said on Sunday.

He also lamented the “spread of hate” and the direction in which “New India” was moving and said Godse would be the father of such a nation rather than Gandhiji.

“The most dangerous violence is the violence of thoughts. These days, we see that people have something in their hearts but they utter something else. Thus, we need to understand the meaning of ahimsa and inculcate it in our minds,” he said.

“New India is in the making but hate is driving politics, which is a big worry. Even in Maharashtra, we see this hate being spread,” he said.

There is a need to coin a new slogan ‘nafraton Bharat chhodo’ and vanquish hate or else it will make citizens its slave, Gandhi said.

“The direction in which New India is moving, the father of the nation will not be Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi but Nathuram Godse (the Mahatma’s assassin). We should be worried that hate and grudges are creating new spaces in our minds,” he said.

Speaking at a function where he was presented with an award, Gandhi also decried the misconceptions and misinformation about the Mahatma, including a recent statement by a person in authority that the latter never had a degree.

“These days, whenever my mobile phone rings I start thinking about which question about Bapu now remains unanswered. Some 10 days ago, a question was raised over his degree. Several incomprehensible things are circulated about the Mahatma,” he said.

He also condemned the use of “vadh” by some segments of society for the killing of Gandhiji as this ancient word is employed to describe the slaying of demons and not humans.

Gandhiji respected every religion and learnt about them, Tushar Gandhi said, adding people must ensure they live with the right ideals in order to have a bright future.

  • Unity among Muslims is need of the hour: Maulana Imran Masood

Unity among Muslims is need of the hour: Maulana Imran Masood

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: In view of increasing sectarianism in the nation, Iman of Jama Masjid- Bengaluru, Maulana Imran Masood held that Muslims should consider ‘unity’ as their shield to sail through the situation.

The Maulana is serving as an Imam in the Jama masjid of Bengaluru and is a renowned leader who encourages Muslim-Hindu unity while pledging to eliminate hatred building up due to political propaganda in the nation.

The Siasat Daily, in an exclusive interview with the Imam at the Rainbow hotel in Lakdikapul, pulled light on the concept of unity among Muslims.

Hijab ban, Halal controversy, Azaan on loudspeakers row, the Imam deliberated that the issues are nothing but political conspiracies fashioned to distract people from the main purpose of their survival.

“The only way to deal with this challenge is for Muslims to avoid all kinds of petty differences and unity among Muslims is the most essential ingredient for the minorities to survive in the nation with other religions,” stressed the Imam.

Shedding light on the role of Muslims during the election process, the Imam said, “India is a democratic country and each vote counts and hence, no person should trade their vote for anything.”

Reflecting on the issue of Muslims being targeted in the nations in some way or the other, the imam said that education is the key factor in building communal ethics in children.

Stressing the elevating Azaan issue, the maulana said that the call for prayer is given in accordance with the Supreme court guidelines which have not fixed a particular decibel of volume at which the call for prayer must be given.

“Future generations must be taught to stay united for there is no life without unity,” asserted the imam.

Parties working on the principle of secularism are preferred and not parties working with Muslim people in the leader’s seat.

Maulana further stressed that the power of votes should not be underestimated and hence every Muslim has to uplift their fellow mates to encourage each other positive voting spirit.

Concerning the serious situation that Muslims are currently going through and the way false powers are propagating against Islam and Muslims, the imam said, “disagreement in the Ummah is a source of mercy, but it should not be used as a source of chaos.”

  • Newly inaugurated Mumbai Metro to play ‘Mood Banayela’ song every hour

Newly inaugurated Mumbai Metro to play ‘Mood Banayela’ song every hour

    [ad_1]

On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated two new Mumbai Metro lines, line 2A (Dahisar to Andheri West D.N. Nagar) and line 7 (Dahisar East to Andheri East). PM Modi was accompanied by Maharashtra chief minister Eknath Shinde and deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis in a ride from Gundavali to Mogra station.

On Sunday, Deputy CM Devendra Fadnvis issued a statement to MMRDA to mandatorily play ‘Mood Banayela’ song in metro every hour to give the commuter a better experience of traveling. The ‘Mood Banaleya’ song is sung by Amruta Fadnavis.

Opposition accused Devendra Fadnavis of nepotism by promoting his wife’s song, however, Devendra Fadnavis denied these allegations and said that the song is being played to avoid congestion in Mumbai Metro during its initial runs.

Reportedly, the metro witnessed drastic reduce in number of commuters after ‘Mood Banaleya’ song being played but reduction in number of commuters can’t be directly correlated to the song, since it’s Sunday and real impact will be seen on Monday. Details awaited
