SRINAGAR: Officials said that a mentally unsound man was shot by the Army near the Line of Control in the Nowshera Sector of Rajouri district on Tuesday morning.
According to an official, the man was roaming around the Army establishment in the area when he was challenged by personnel. When he did not respond, the Army shot at him.
The man was taken to a nearby healthcare facility, where his condition is now said to be stable.
He has been identified as Anil, son of Bhagwan Dass from Charyala Kalal in Nowshera. Local residents reported that the man had a history of wandering around the village and was mentally unsound. (KNO)
SRINAGAR: Two women among four people were injured due to electrocution after they came in contact with a high-tension line in Lidroo area of Pahalgam in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Sunday.
The four victims were immediately taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
The injured individuals have been identified as Mehraj-U-Din Reshi (son of Gull Mohammad) from Veer Siran, Nayeem Ahmad Bhat (son of Sajad Ahmad Bhat), Naseema Bano (wife of Nayeem Ahmad Bhat), and Mubeena Akhtar (wife of Sajad Ahmad Bhat), all residents of Lidroo.
Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident. (KNO)
Mumbai: Popular Television actress Jannat Zubair informed that her mom has been hospitalised. The actress shared the pictures with her mom lying on the hospital bed. Fans and well-wishers of Jannat prayed for the speedy recovery of her mother. Social media influencer Mr Faisu aka Faisal Shaikh too visited the hospital to see Jannat’s mother.
Jannat Zubair who visited her mom in the hospital with pink flowers did not mention the reason why her mother was admitted. In the pictures, she can be seen beside her mom and both mother-daughter are seen smiling. The actress captioned the Instagram post, “Alhumdulillah .”
Faisal Shaikh who is rumoured to be the boyfriend of Jannat Zubair shared the picture on his visit on his Instagram story. Sharing the picture, Faisu wrote, “@nazneenzubair02 get well soon aunty.”

Former Karnataka Chief Minister and JD(S) legislative party leader HD Kumaraswamy
Bengaluru: Former Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy was admitted to a private hospital in Bengaluru on Saturday night following fever and fatigue.
In a media release, Kumaraswamy stated that there is “no need for the panic” and he will resume campaigning after taking rest. The doctors have said that he developed symptoms of fever after being “tirelessly” involved in election campaigning.
The JD(S) leader was “single-handedly” leading the party’s campaign across the state for the May 10 Assembly elections.
He has also developed a minor lung infection and is said to be affected by dust allergy. The former Chief Minister was advised hospitalisation following symptoms of fever. His supporters and party workers are being asked not to come to the premises of the hospital.
Sources close to him have said that he might be discharged by Sunday evening.
Party workers and family members are concerned about Kumaraswamy’s health as he had undergone heart surgery earlier.
Chandigarh: Shiromani Akali Dal patriarch Parkash Singh Badal, 95, has been undergoing treatment in Fortis in Mohali near here with complications of uneasiness in breathing.
“In view of the criticality of Parkash Singh Badal’s health, he continues to be closely monitored in the Medical ICU,” the hospital said in a media bulletin.
Earlier on Saturday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh enquired about the health of five-time Chief Minister his son, Sukhbir Badal.
Kathmandu: Nepal’s President Ramchandra Poudel was admitted to a hospital here on Tuesday for the second time within a month after he complained of shortness of breath, a senior leader of the Nepali Congress said.
Poudel, 78, was taken to the Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj, Kathmandu. According to Baikuntha Thapaliya, the hospital’s administration chief, President Paudel is undergoing treatment.
“We rushed him to the hospital after his oxygen level dipped. He has been taking antibiotics for 15 days but his situation has not improved,” one adviser to the president was quoted as saying by the Kathmandu Post newspaper.
Prime Minister Pushpakamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ visited the hospital to inquire about Poudel’s health condition.
This is the second time President Poudel has been hospitalised within a month. Last week, the president complained of pain in his stomach.
A Cabinet meeting on Tuesday decided to deploy a team of government officials to facilitate his treatment.
The team will assess the nature of the president’s illness and report to the government, a minister said. Further decisions on the president’s treatment will be taken after the team submits its report.
Poudel of the Nepali Congress was elected as the new president of Nepal last month, in a relief to the fragile coalition government headed by Prime Minister ‘Prachanda’.
Poudel, a common candidate of the eight-party alliance that included the Nepali Congress and Prime Minister ‘Prachanda’-led CPN (Maoist Center), received the vote of 214 lawmakers of Parliament and 352 provincial assembly members.
SRINAGAR: A 12-year-old boy was injurer after being allegedly stabbed by another late on Monday night following an altercation between the two in Teliyan area of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
An official said that Umar Rashid Dar son of Abdul Rashid Dar of Arampora was allegedly stabbed by one Muneeb Bashir son of Bashir Ahmad Mir after altercation between the two.
He said following the incident, the injured was taken to sub district hospital Sopore for treatment.

SRINAGAR: Two linemen of Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) were critically injured on Sunday late evening after they received an electric shock at Panzigam receiving station in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
An official said that the duo was critically injured after they were electrocuted while repairing the high voltage electricity line at the receiving station.
“The injured were rushed to the District Hospital Bandipora for treatment,” the official said.
A senior doctor present at the hospital said that the duo was brought with burn injuries and after initial treatment, they were shifted to the Srinagar hospital for further treatment.
The doctor identified them as Farooq Ahmad of Malangam and Ashiq Hussain of Qazipora. “Their condition is stable,” he said.
Meanwhile, following the incident, the electricity in the entire area was snapped when this report was being filed.(KNO)
Srinagar, Mar 20: A popular singer from Kashmir on Monday collapses while performing at Badamwari festival in Srinagara, following which he was hospitalised.
An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that popular singer Manzoor Ahmad Shah fell unconscious at Badamwari, while performing on stage in Badamwari.
He said soon after the incident he was rushed to JLNM hospital for treatment.
Medical Superintendent JLNM Rainawari, Dr Rouf told KNO that Manzoor was brought there,where from he has been referred to SMHS Srinagar.
He said that his condition is stable and has been shifted to SMHS for CT scan—(KNO)
