Hindutva crimes on the rise under Bihar’s ‘secular’ govt: Owaisi

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Thursday remarked that Hindutva crimes are on the rise under the governance of a ‘secular’ government in Bihar.

Owaisi’s ‘secular’ jibe was directed at the JD(U)-RJD-Congress alliance which is currently in government in the state.

“Hindutva crimes are on the rise under the “secular” government of Bihar. In some places the police persecute 12-year-old Rizwan and at other places, instead of helping a citizen, abuse him and make him run away. Team brothers @yadavtejashwi @NitishKumar Will Naseeb get justice or Should work be done with Iftar party?” he tweeted.

Owaisi was referring to the case of 12-year-old Rizwan who was arrested along with his seventy-year-old grandfather after communal violence erupted in Siwan on September 12, 2022 and the latest case of the lynching of a Muslim man on suspicion of carrying beef.

The 47-year-old Muslim man was lynched to death by a Hindu mob who accused him and his nephew of carrying beef. The incident happened in Rasulpur of Chhapra district, Bihar on March 7.

In a press release, police said that three people have been arrested and the hunt is on for the remaining accused.

According to Maktoob Media, the deceased Naseeb Qureshi and his nephew Firoz Qureshi were returning home when they were attacked by a mob of 10-15 people.

Telangana BJP alleges arrest of its social media activist; says Hindutva scaring BRS

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: Telangana BJP chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Saturday alleged the arrest of its social media activist, Parandham, and demanded his immediate release.

“Hindutva atmosphere is sending chills down spine of BRS ! They’re trying to intimidate us with police cases. Parandham,

@BJP4Telangana social media activist was arrested by police. We demand his immediate release. Those who fight for Hindu dharma are termed as communal in TS,” he tweeted.

Sanjay said that he will keeping speaking about his religion. “Why shouldn’t I speak about Hindu Dharma ? I will speak about my religion. We need to fight for protecting Hinduism & work for establishing Rama Rajya with passion, commitment & honesty. Else people can’t survive & women will be left unprotected in kingdom of Razakars,” he further said.

The reason for the alleged arrest is yet to be known.

“Police ignore those who insult #Hinduism but will arrest those who work for protecting it. War has started. We will go to any extent to protect our BJP Karyakartas and social media activists. We’re ready to head to DGP Office or Pragathi Bhavan if necessary. Jai Sri Ram !,” he further said.

Sanjay on Saturday morning gave a call to the people of the state to set up statues of Maratha king Shivaji across all villages and towns in the state.

“Chatrapathi Shivaji worked hard to establish Hindu rule. His blood boiled when Mughals urinated on Shivlings as a child. Once he grew up, he warred with the Mughals and threw them out,” Sanjay remarked at a Shivaji statue launch event in Rajanna Sircilla district.

Sanjay further called for uniting the Hindu society by taking inspiration from Shivaji. “If Shivaji’s statues are not set up, there is a danger of the Hindu society being made fun of. I urge you all to not do time pass politics,” he said addressing the saffron party’s cadre.

The state BJP chief also said that the Hindu faith is not anti any other faith. “But it has become a fashion for some to insult Hinduism. It’s unfair to not respond when some people do that. Lord Ayyappa and Saraswati were insulted and a basic protest was also not put up,” he said.

Sanjay was referring to Bairi Naresh’s remarks on Hindu Gods that led to a huge controversy in the state.

Saffron-clad people should stop criticising Hindutva leaders: Joona Akhada Mahamandaleshwar

    [ad_1]

Khatima: Joona Akhada Mahamandaleshwar Awasheshanand ji Maharaj has advised “saffron-clad people” against criticising Hindutva leaders for “narrow political gains”, saying they were only “harming Hindus” by doing so.

The Mahamandaleshwar, who was here on a personal visit, said this on Tuesday in his reaction to Swami Jitendrananad’s recent remarks targeting BJP leader Uma Bharti, a former chief minister of Madhya Pradesh.

Swami Jitendrananad had criticised Bharti’s recent remarks demanding a liquor ban in Madhya Pradesh. He had said Bharti was making such statements because she has lost her support base.

He had also said that no liquor ban can stop the practice of offering liquor at Ujjain’s Maha Bhairav temple.

Bharti’s remarks were meant to destabilise the Shivraj Singh Chauhan government in Madhya Pradesh, he had said.

Accusing Jitendrananad of criticising Bharti to “please” Chauhan, Swami Awasheshanand said he should restrain himself from unnecessarily criticising a “leading Sadhvi”.

“She (Bharti) is a sadhvi first, a politician later,” he said.

  • BJP shies away from caste census to safeguard its Hindutva project

BJP shies away from caste census to safeguard its Hindutva project

    [ad_1]

Lucknow: With regional parties in Uttar Pradesh raising the issue of caste census, the ‘Mandal’ brand of politics is all set to return to the Hindi heartland after almost three decades.

The regional parties, namely, the Samajwadi Party which is the main opposition party in UP, have sensed that denting the Bharatiya Janata Party is a near impossible task in 2024 since, by then, the Ram temple would be ready and the BJP’s Hindutva plank would be reinforced like never before.

State chief minister Yogi Adityanath has already given a peek into the 2024 poll issues when he recently said that the election would be 80 versus 20 — 80 being Hindus and 20 being the minorities.

The Samajwadi Party has now played the caste census card to change the arithmetic to 85 versus 15 — 85 being the OBCs and Dalits and 15 being the upper castes.

The Central government’s recent disapproval of a demand for a national caste census has only made the SP play the caste card with a vengeance and put the BJP in the dock.

The BJP believes that any such exercise would inflame caste-based social and political sentiments and harm the Hindutva-nationalist project. Caste has always been an intrinsic component of Indian democracy.

As a veteran BJP functionary puts it, “One’s caste can control access to political power, land, and police or judicial assistance. Castes also tend to influence local politics by being local to certain areas. A caste census may increase caste feelings in some people and that may lead to clashes, especially in villages where maintaining anonymity is difficult. Political parties will then tend to represent the interests of specific castes and the inclusiveness of policy making will be lost.”

On the other hand, the Samajwadi Party believes that an enumeration of the OBCs in a caste census will provide hard data about their numerical strength in different states.

These numbers will be utilised further to examine the share of the OBCs in different state institutions.

“It is obvious that most of the sectors of power, such as the judiciary, educational institutions and the media, are controlled and monopolised by the social elites, giving the Dalit-Bahujan groups just a minuscule presence. A caste census will provide the socio-economic nuances of the OBC population and will show that their representation in different institutions is not according to the size of their population. With the acknowledgement of such a precarious social fact, a new political consciousness will emerge amongst the socially marginalised groups, forcing them to initiate a new movement for social justice,” said a SP leader.

Interestingly, giving an impetus to backward politics, Uttar Pradesh’s deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, in an unexpected turn of events, has backed the opposition demand for a caste census — a move that is now being viewed by analysts as a ploy to undercut the opposition plan to corner the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on the issue.

“I am all for it,” Maurya said, adding, “neither me, nor my party are in opposition on the subject.”

However, he had no answer why Uttar Pradesh has not yet followed the Bihar example, where a caste census has been announced.

The SP, which is playing a proactive role on the issue, said, “By supporting the caste census demand, the BJP’s deputy CM Keshav Prasad has now raised questions about his own party’s governments at the Centre and in UP. Now, will Yogi say when, like Bihar, caste census would be ordered in UP?”

The Samajwadi Party has also been using its non-Yadav OBC face Swami Prasad Maurya to connect with the Backwards and the Dalits by raising the issue of the alleged insult to the Backwards in the Hindu epic ‘Ramcharitmanas’ and simultaneously flagging the demand for a caste census.

The party has shrewdly linked the caste factor with religion and hopes to strike it rich.

Political analysts feel that in such a discourse, the BJP will surely be marginalised and its ‘Hindu First’ card may not work in the maze of casteism.

A caste-based census could go a long way in bringing a measure of objectivity to the debate on reservations.

According to the Rohini Commission, which was formed to look into equitable redistribution of the 27 per cent quota for OBCs, there are around 2,633 castes covered under the OBC reservation.

Some castes have different names in different places, and some castes are pronounced differently. In total there are 3,000 castes and 25,000 sub-castes in India, each related to a specific occupation.

There have been demands for the release of the caste census data from the Census of 2011.

However, the most important argument in the news reports against the release of the caste census data and the use of caste as a census category is that such data will further create caste divides and be used for divisiveness by political parties.

The BJP, therefore, is holding it back to prevent “divisiveness that goes against the nationalist currents.”

  • Rahul Gandhi’s remarks on Adityanath is attack on Hindutva: Seer council chief

Rahul Gandhi’s remarks on Adityanath is attack on Hindutva: Seer council chief

    [ad_1]

Ballia: Shankaracharya Parishad chief Swami Anand Swaroop on Wednesday hit out at Rahul Gandhi, saying his recent remarks on Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was an attack on Hindutva.

On Monday, Congress leader Gandhi asserted that no religion talks about spreading hate and said Adityanath cannot be a religious leader for the language he uses.

During an interaction with civil society members on the recently-concluded Bharat Jodo Yatra in Delhi, Gandhi had alleged that Adityanath was “insulting” the history of his Gorakhnath Math by the kind of language he was using.

“I am sorry, he (Adityanath) is not a religious leader, he is a common thug,” Gandhi, was quoted as saying by an attendee at the meeting, which was not open to the media.

In a video released on Facebook, Swaroop said, “Calling a ‘siddh mahant’ and yogi of a ‘siddh peeth’, who has no one of his own, a thug will not be tolerated. Yogi Adityanath is chief minister later, first he is a seer and a monk of a ‘siddha peeth’.”

The chief the parishad, a council of seers, said that “an attack on a monk is an attack on Hindutva”.

Demanding that the Uttar Pradesh government immediately file a case against Gandhi, he said the Congress leader has insulted a “yogi” to serve his political motives.

Swaroop alleged that Gandhi’s remarks, will prove to costly for his party and him.

Alleging that Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav is giving patronage to his party leader Swami Prasad Maurya, who had made remarks against the ‘Ramcharitmanas’ recently, Swaroop said that Maurya himself lost the assembly election and cannot steer the ship of the party.

“When Swami Prasad Maurya has become a Buddhist, how can he remain a Maurya now? How can he declare himself the leader of the backward class? Backward class is the soul of Hindutva,” he said.

Manuvada and Hindutva stir up murder & violence, claims Siddaramaiah

    [ad_1]

Kalaburagi: Senior Congress leader and former Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah on Monday alleged that ‘Manuvada’ and ‘Hindutva’ encourage murder, violence and discrimination.

The former CM said he is also a Hindu who follows Hindu Dharma but stands against Hindutva.

“Hindutva and Hindu Dharma are different. I’m always projected as anti-Hindu and anti-Hindu Dharma. I’m not anti-Hindu Dharma. I’m also a Hindu, but I’m anti-Manuvada and Hindutva,” Siddaramaiah said.

Addressing a gathering here, he said, “Does any religion encourage murder or violence? But Manuvada and Hindutva encourage murder, violence and discrimination. That’s the difference between Hindu Dharma and Hindutva.”

The Leader of Opposition had earlier too made his anti-Hindutva stands clear.

Assembly elections are due in Karnataka by May.

Delhi police sends notice to Molitics media for covering Hindutva hate speech

    [ad_1]

The Delhi police issued a notice to Molitics media house for covering a priest’s genocidal rant against Muslims and Christians during a Hindu Parliament at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi.

The “Dharma Sansad,” called for the murder of Muslims and Christians on Sunday at Jantar Mantar in the nation’s capital Delhi.

“It has been observed that you are using Social Media for posting offensive, malicious and inciting posts. New Delhi District’s Cyber Police Station, the Nodal Agency for cyber crimes in New Delhi District of Delhi Police hereby issues notice against you under section 149 CRPC for posting offensive, malicious and inciting message which can adversely affect law and order,”
read the notice tweeted by DCP New Delhi.

“You are here by directed to refrain from doing so failing which you will be liable for strict penal action under relevant provisions of law,” the notice added.

The event was organized in support of Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, popularly known as Bageshwar Dham Sarkar, a 26-year-old priest of the Bageshwar Dham temple and Sudarshan TV head and hate-monger Suresh Chavhanke. It is worth noting that there were over 400 people witnessing the speech.

“Knife will not work. Keep weapons at home. Kill Muslims and Christians. Weapon should be in one hand and scripture in the other,” said a speaker Mahamandleshwar Swami Bhakt Hari Singh.

There was no police action against hate speech and event so far.

The crowd in the event raised genocidal slogans against Muslims and Christians in the country.

The establishment of Hindu Rashtra, Z plus security for Bageshwar Dham Sarkar, and the recognition of the Ramcharitmanas as national scripture were all demands made by the Hindu Parliament.

Anand Kumar, a retired IPS officer and the leader of the Rashtra Nirman Party, Ragini Tiwari, Suraj Pal Ammu, Aastha Maa, and Annapurna Bharti are among the speakers.

”We’re not demanding anything; we’re only asking to remove the country’s traitors, those who eat in India but sing praises of Pakistan,” said Suraj Pal Ammu.

  • Socialist leader Raghu Takhur blames Cong for rise of Hindutva politics

Socialist leader Raghu Takhur blames Cong for rise of Hindutva politics

    [ad_1]

Bhopal: Socialist Raghu Thakur expressed concern over the increasing communal polarization in the country’s politics, and held the Congress responsible for it.

He alleged that the Congress helped build the Bharatiya Jana Sangh (BJS) to weaken the socialists in the country.

The BJS, the political arm of RSS, existed from 1951 to 1977.

In a special conversation with IANS, Raghu Thakur said, after Independence, the Congress party tried to take politics to the religious path. The Congress helped build the BJS and it is because of that the condition of the Congress is such today.

Thakur alleged said that the Congress strategised in a planned manner and tried to take the BJS forward. Congress believed that the staunch Hinduist party would not get the support of many people, because the government is of Congress and Congress also runs on Hindu mindset, Muslims will continue to vote for Congress because of their fear. In this way, the Congress started communal polarisation.

He further said that Congress adopted the policy of appeasement of Muslims to take them along in the structure it prepared, but Congress forgot that the consequences of Muslim appeasement would be harmful for itself.

BJP has been successful in uniting Hindus after 70 years and that is the reason why it is in power today. The socialist movement has to bear its biggest loss, the reason for this is because socialists are neither Hindus nor Muslims. This is the reason why many a time Samajwadi contests elections even in Muslim dominated areas and has to face defeat.

In response to a question, Raghu Thakur said that in the present era, BJP is completely moving forward on fanatical Hinduism, while the Muslim vote-bank tries to defeat BJP. But, the result of this is that BJP gets benefitted. Two elections in Bhopal are examples of this, once Agnivesh contested and second time Digvijay Singh, both had to face a big defeat.

In response to a question, Raghu Thakur said both BJP and Congress are opposed to small parties. He said that while Congress swallows small parties, BJP chews them and swallows them.

Raghu Thakur believes that the socialist ideology has deep roots. He says that even though the socialist movement has become weak, the socialist ideology is still there in the society and the political parties are running on it only.

Whether it is BJP or Congress, both move forward with socialist ideas. Examples of this are giving equal rights to women, providing bread to the poor, as well as running schemes for the welfare of the poor.

MP ‘Pathaan’ screening: Hindutva mob shouts Islamophobic slogans

    [ad_1]

In Madhya Pradesh’s Indore, members of a Hindutva group protested in front of a theatre raising provocative slogans against Prophet Muhammed and Shah Rukh Khan’s movie ‘Pathaan’ which was released in India and worldwide on Wednesday.

Shouting slogans like, “Mohammed tere baap ka naam ‘JaiShriRam‘, Desh ke gaddaro ko.. goli maaro“, right-wing workers wearing saffron shawls made derogatory remarks against Prophet Muhammad.

The news of the protest soon spread in the city irking many local Muslims who took to the streets opposing the right-wing protests.

“Every time, these people under the safety net provided by the state government make derogatory remarks on our Prophet. And no action is taken against them. We want the police to register an FKIR against these right-wing protestors. Till then we will do a sit-in peacefully,” a Muslim man told a police officer on camera.

    Reaction on Twitter

Twitter has been bursting with hashtags such as #PathaanReview, #SRK, #RaniSaOfBollywood #BLOCKBUSTER. Many videos have emerged showing a houseful theatre with a jubilant audience dancing to the tunes of Jhoome Jo Pathan song.

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked BJP workers to refrain from making “unnecessary” comments about films during the two-day national executive meet.

It came amid the recent protests against ‘Pathaan’, with several BJP leaders like Ram Kadam and Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra criticizing the makers over Deepika Padukone’s saffron costume in the song ‘Besharam Rang’.
