Hyderabad: Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will attend the ‘Hindu Ekta Yatra’ in Karimnagar which will be held on May 14, organised by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state president and MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar.

A Telangana BJP press release said on Friday that the BJP national general secretary and state party affairs in-charge Tarun Chugh will also attend the event. Bandi Sanay is preparing for the event likely to attract over one lakh people.

Bandi said that the aim of this yatra is to show the power of Hindu unity and appealed to people to participate in the Hindu Ekta Yatra in huge numbers.

“Working towards protecting the Hindu Dharma. Those who want to defend Hindu Dharma should participate in this yatra,” he said.

Biswa Sarma last visited Hyderabad on September 8, 2022, following which tension prevailed at Mozamjahi Market after the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leader created a flutter by attempting to snatch the mike of Himanta Biswa at a public meeting while he was addressing an audience.

The Assam chief minister had come under sharp criticism from the opposition over his comments that madrasas in the state which were demolished recently were ‘Al-Qaeda’s’ offices when the structures were razed under the Disaster Management Act.

AR Rahman reshares video of Hindu wedding inside mosque, know why

    [ad_1]

Thiruvananthapuram: Filmmaker Sudipto Sen’s ‘The Kerala Story’ has landed in a controversy with a section of a particular community accusing the makers of ‘hurting religious sentiments’. The movie has been in the headlines the past few days and most of the political and religious leaders have expressed their opinions about the film’s plot. Amid all this fuss and ado, the legendary musician AR Rahman reshared a video on his Twitter account which depicts communal harmony.

The old video of a Hindu wedding that took place inside a mosque in Kerala in 2020 was re-shared by AR Rahman to make people understand that Muslims and Hindus live together peacefully in Kerala. The original post had captioned the video, “Here is another #KeralaStory.”

Actually, the video is from the wedding ceremony of Anju and Sharath, which was conducted according to the Hindu rituals inside the Mosque in Kerala. The wedding was solemnised by a Hindu priest but it took place inside the Mosque.

    MS Education Academy

Re-sharing the video, Rahaman wrote,”Bravo, love for humanity has to be unconditional and healing.”

The makers in the movie claim that approximately 32,000 women who have purportedly gone missing from the state, have been converted to Islam forcefully. It also claims that these women also joined the infamous terror group Islamic State later. From Kerala’s ruling Left Front government to Congress leaders like Shashi Tharoor, the makers were slammed by most of the political leaders for filming such movies. Apart from a few political leaders, most of Islamic religious leaders claim that the movie is just propaganda.

However, the film’s producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah has said that the movie is based on a true story and claimed that every scene in the movie is true.

The Supreme Court refused to entertain any petition against the film on Wednesday. The movie is set to hit theatres on Friday, May 5.

Muslim student assaulted with rod for speaking to female Hindu friend in Karnataka

    [ad_1]

An 18-year-old Muslim young man was assaulted by Hindutva workers for hanging out with a Hindu woman in Puttur district, Dakshina Kannada.

According to Puttur town police, Mohammad Parish, a first-year PUC student was brutally attacked by a hot iron rod by Hindutva workers after he was seen having juice with his Hindu friend.

His repeated pleas that they were just friends went unheard as the Hindutva workers began thrashing him. Parish is currently undergoing treatment. His condition is said to be stable.

    MS Education Academy

The Puttur town police have identified four persons Dinesh Gowda (an autorickshaw driver), Prajwal, Nishanth Kumar, and Pradeep (students) as accused.

The previous day, the Congress party released its manifesto for the upcoming Assembly elections promising to ban the Hindutva organisation Bajrang Dal if voted to power.

It identified and compared Bajrang Dal to the same lengths as the banned Islamic organisation PFI (Popular Front of India).

It created a stir in Karnataka politics as well as outside with many leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and RSS charging that the Congress is a threat to India’s sovereignty and integrity.

“This is the last election for the Congress party. If they are defeated, they will go straight to their houses. This is a do-or-die situation for them. It is indeed a dying situation for Congress,” he slammed.

He waved the saffron shawl, raised the slogan of ‘Jai Bhajrangi’, and chanted the slogans of Bajrang Dal activists.

Several posters claiming ‘I am Bajrangi’ coming up at many places challenging the authorities to “ban and arrest” them on Wednesday

Tejasvi Surya, the BJP National Youth Wing chief and MP from the Bengaluru South seat shared a poster on his social media claiming that he is a Bajrangi. “I am a Bajrangi. I am a Kannadiga and this is the land of Hanuman. I dare the Congress to ban me!” he challenged.

Meanwhile, Congress president D K Shivakumar questioned the “connection between Bajrangbali and Bajrang Dal” while saying he is also a devotee of Lord Hanuman.

“They are panicking over our proposal to ban Bajrang Dal. There will be no changes in the manifesto. What is the connection between Bajrangbali and Bajrang Dal?” Shivakumar questioned.

Anjaneya (Lord Hanuman) and Bajrang Dal are different. The BJP should do campaigning by taking the name of Bajrangbali. Let them tell you about what they have done to end hunger and unemployment?” Shivakumar questioned.

  • CAA, the only solution to Hindu Bengalis’ citizenship problem: Assam CM

CAA, the only solution to Hindu Bengalis’ citizenship problem: Assam CM

    [ad_1]

Guwahati: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has said that the implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) can only solve the problems of Hindu Bengalis.

He said this while hitting out at Assam Congress leader Debabrata Saikia, who has launched an attack on the BJP on the issue of a sizable number of Hindu families receiving notices to prove their citizenship in the last few days in Udalguri and Tamulpur districts.

Saikia said that the BJP campaigns in every election about giving protection to Hindu families, but in Assam, people belonging to that community were being ‘harassed’ to prove their citizenship. “In the past few weeks, several families in Udalguri and Tamulpur received notices to prove their citizenship,” he said.

    MS Education Academy

Reacting to Saikia’s comment, the Chief Minister said on Sunday, “CAA is the only solution to these problems. Unless it is implemented, we do not have any other system to solve the difficulties faced by the Hindu Bengali people in regard to citizenship.”

He also took a jibe at media persons over the CAA issue. “When we stress CAA, the media keeps on attacking us,” Sarma said.

Notably, though the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) was passed in both Houses of Parliament in December 2019, the rules to implement the Act have not been framed till now, which is usually accomplished within six months after the President of India signs on a law. If any ministry or department fails to do so within the prescribed period, they must seek an extension from the Committee on Subordinate Legislation, stating reasons for such an extension.

The Union Home Ministry has already taken several extensions to frame the CAA rules.

Tripura: BJP leaders thrash Hindu vlogger for posting Eid greeting

    [ad_1]

A 23-year-old vlogger Bapan Nandi in Tripura was assaulted by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders for posting Eid greeting in a video.

Nandi said he was trying to promote communal harmony.

As the video went viral, BJP leader Anu Mura Singh and a few Hindutva politicians were irked with Nandi’s four-minute video.

NewsClick reported that the BJP leaders allegedly took the matter to the Police Line Bazaar area and filed a complaint against the vlogger. Following this, the police called Nandi for interrogation.

Meanwhile, Mura Singh and a few Hindutva leaders attacked Nandi. One of them recorded the assault and posted it on social media.

    Subsequently, the video went viral.

In the video, a female BJP leader can be seen grabbing Nandi by his collar and thrashing him. She was also questioning why Nandi had portrayed himself “as a Muslim and demeaned Hindus.”

He should have stuck with his “Hindu origins proudly,” she added.

Nandi could be seen begging for mercy while he was being thrashed by the group, according to NewsClick.

“The Deputy Chief of East Gokul Nagar Panchayat called me and asked if I can visit his place. As I knew him I reached there and found about 40 men were waiting for me,” EastMojo quoted Nandi.

“The Panchayat leader slapped me and thrashed me in front of everyone. I kept asking what was my fault? Nandi informed him that the video was produced by another channel and the casting was done by him.

“No one was interested in listening to me,” he added.

It is reported that the police have registered the case on orders of Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) leaders.

Nandi claimed that he made the video for communal harmony. The video asked people not to get divided into communal lines and to celebrate the festival of Eid in harmony.

Two artists who acted in the Eid video, Uma Debnath and Sneha Bhowmik issued statements saying they never thought that the video will be so problematic or that it would any ruckus.

The artists and several other people have condemned the beating of Nandi and extended support to him.

  • Kerala: Hindu temples hold mass iftars during Ramzan

Kerala: Hindu temples hold mass iftars during Ramzan

    [ad_1]

Two temple committees in Malappuram organised a huge Iftar for Muslims during the holy month of Ramzan, serving as an example of interfaith peace.

On April 7 and March 28, respectively, committees of the Sree Puthuveppu Manaliyarkavu Bhagavathi temple in Othalur and the Chathangadu Sree Maha Vishnu temple in Vaniyannur in Tirur staged the mass Iftar on the premises of the respective temple grounds.

According to a report by the TNIE, Muslims in large numbers participated in both gatherings.

    MS Education Academy

“It was an initiative taken by a group of youngsters in the area. Our aim is to strengthen the bond between people from the Hindu and Muslim communities. Religious harmony is important and we want to celebrate every festival together in a peaceful and jovial atmosphere,” the report quoted Krishnan Pavittapuram, secretary of the Sree Puthuveppu Manaliyarkavu Bhagavathi temple.

Dijith K, one of the event’s organisers, said that a member of the Muslim community sponsored the annadanam during the temple’s annual installation celebration, which this year coincided with Ramadan. “We will continue to organise the mass Iftar in the coming years,” Dijith said.

For Chathangadu Sree Maha Vishnu Temple, this is the second iftar.

“Like the previous year, people from the Muslim community could not attend the annadanam this year as our annual installation festival fell during the Ramzan month. So, we organised the mass Iftar a day after the annual festival. We will organise it next year if the date of the annual installation festival falls during Ramzan month,” said Lakshmanan K K, temple committee secretary.

Panakkad Rasheed Ali Shihab Thangal, an IUML leader who attended the Vaniyannur Iftar, praised the temple’s decision.

“The temple has set a model for others to follow. All communities should live in harmony in the country. We should move forward while respecting and helping each other. There should be no space for hatred in our hearts,” he said.
