After the video surfaced online, Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) wrote a letter to Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot requesting to file a criminal complaint against the man for allegedly sexually harassing the vlogger at a fort in Jodhour.

The DCW has learnt that a Korean vlogger was harassed by a man in a fort in Jodhpur. The girl was walking in the fort when a man allegedly followed her, exposed his private parts, and engaged in lewd behaviour, a statement said.

The girl ran, screamed, and appealed for help. The entire incident was captured in a video and has been widely circulated on social media, it said.

“This incident is not only a grave violation of the girl’s rights but has also brought shame to our country, as it raises serious questions about the safety and security of women, both domestic and foreign nationals, in our society. As a nation, we cannot allow such acts of harassment and violence to occur and must take prompt and effective measures to ensure justice for the girl and prevent such incidents in the future,” Maliwal said in the statement.

Hyderabad: NALSAR and IIIT-H roundtable on AI and legal process held

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR) University and IIIT-Hyderabad together held a roundtable meeting on Saturday deliberating on the possibility of the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the Legal and Judicial system in India.

The confluence session of law firms, policy think tanks, NALSAR faculty, IIITH faculty and startups deliberated on the use-cases, various AI problems, its challenges, and potential solution possibilities.

The discussions revolved around four central themes – AI as a supporting tool in the practice of law, to adhere to due process of law, should AI practice law? and AI in delivering judgements.

    MS Education Academy

The roundtable was chaired by NALSAR vice chancellor, Prof Srikrishna Deva Rao, and director of IIIT-H, Prof PJ Narayanan. Panellists included professors from IIIT-H, NALSAR and IIT Kanpur, law leaders from Samvad Partners, policy and community groups OpenNyAI and CDPP, and a city-based startup subtl.ai.

The panel identified AI use-cases in legal research, document and content discovery process, contract drafting and review activities. AI and Natural language processing (NLP) play a crucial role in building language processing tools in understanding the substance and implications of keywords searches and contract language. The deliberations will be detailed in a white paper to be published shortly.

Prof Rao said, “Academic interactions between IIIT-H and NALSAR should lead to academic and research collaborations educating lawyers and technologists together. I strongly believe that technology will enhance justice for everybody but would not replace or substitute human jurisprudence”.

Suggesting that lawyers should learn program development, learn about AI/ML, data science, the vice chancellor advocated small courses for lawyers in document review, judgement review and contract analysis.

Prof Narayanan said, “It is good to see the AI Tech world and people from law coming together.” He said that it has become possible for AI systems to help significantly in the legal process but warned about over-reliance on AI systems cautioning about biases inherent in these systems.

  • Arts Exhibition Held At Kashmir Arts Emporium

Arts Exhibition Held At Kashmir Arts Emporium

    [ad_1]

    by Muskaan Fatima

SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Arts Emporium, located near the Abdullah Bridge in Srinagar, hosted an enthralling art exhibition on April 14, 2023, featuring the exquisite artworks of Dr Jahangeer Aslam Makhdoomi. Though a Doctor by profession, Dr Jahangeer’s passion for art dates back to his childhood and continues to thrive to this day.

Dr Jahangeer’s artistic inclinations lean towards realism rather than abstract art, and his artworks are a reflection of his love for nature. The beauty of nature is a constant source of inspiration for him, and he translates this into his paintings.

His profound observations and unique artistic style are a testament to his devotion to the arts. His paintings are a feast for the eyes, conveying a message of beauty, hope, and wonder.

At the exhibition, Dr Jahangeer showcased one of his artworks called “Still Life,” which portrays a simple moment where tea and biscuits are arranged on a table. He captures the beauty in the simplicity of the moment and believes that moments like these are often overlooked in our daily lives. However, when painted on canvas, the stillness of the moment is magnified, and its significance becomes more apparent.

Another painting, “The Shop Next Door,” depicts an old shop that brings back a wave of nostalgia, a memory that resonates with almost every Kashmiri child. Dr Jahangeer’s artwork beautifully captures the essence of the memory and evokes a sense of longing.

Speaking about his artistic techniques, Jahangeer revealed that he draws inspiration from Renaissance painters. His preference for realism over abstract art is apparent in his artworks that showcase the beauty of nature.

Dr Jahangeer believes in the importance of time management and limits his social media intake to balance his work as a doctor with his love for art. Typically, it takes him several weeks to a month to create a single painting, but the process brings him immense peace and contentment.
