BJP-led govt has launched several developmental projects in Haryana: Khattar

    [ad_1]

Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Thursday said the state government has launched several developmental projects and public welfare schemes in the last eight-and-a-half-years, benefits of which are being availed by the people.

The Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP) scheme has been appreciated by many states and they have also shown interest in studying it, Khattar said while addressing a gathering after the inauguration of BJP’s newly constructed office ‘Karna Kamal’ in Karnal’s Sector 9.

The PPP, a family information data depository, is an e-governance scheme aimed at promoting paperless and faceless delivery of services to citizens, according to the state government.

Khattar said that on the basis of a survey done through the PPP, 12.50 lakh new BPL (Below Poverty Line) ration cards have been made in the state.

Continuing the state government’s tradition of celebrating the birth anniversaries of great men and sages, a state-level programme was held to celebrate Guru Gorakhnath Smriti Utsav, an official statement said.

During the programme, Khattar announced the establishment of a research chair at Baba Mast Nath University, Asthal Bohar, Rohtak in the name of Guru Gorakhnath, naming an educational institute after him

Khattar also announced the inclusion of the biography and teachings of Guru Gorakhnath in the school curriculum with the objective of making the younger children aware of the teachings of his teachings.

He said the government plans to honour the instrumentalists playing traditional musical instruments and is in the process of formulating a pension scheme.

“Our saints and great men have always played a significant role in removing social evils. Even today, their teachings hold relevance and for this reason, only ‘Sant Mahapurush Vichar Samman Evam Prasar Yojana’ has been launched,” he said.

“The Government plays a significant role in spreading the message of communal harmony and peace and teachings of saints and great men among the masses,” said Khattar.

Speaking at a party event, Khattar said that today the BJP has become the largest political party in the world whose number of active members is more than the total population of many countries.

He urged the party workers to take the policies and schemes of the government to the masses so that the people can get the benefits of these schemes.

He also said that to take feedback on development works and government schemes from the people, ‘Jan Samvad’ programmes have been started across the state.

On the occasion, former minister and BJP state president, O P Dhankhar, Gharaunda MLA, Harvinder Kalyan were also present.

Khattar announces bus service to Haryana village after elderly woman complains

    [ad_1]

Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar’s visit on Wednesday to Thana in Kurukshetra has ensured that government buses now won’t skip the stop at the village.

During an interaction with Thana villagers as part of the ‘Jan Samvad’ programme, an elderly woman complained about buses not stopping there and Khattar took action, according to a government statement.

From now, Khattar said, at least eight buses from Pehowa and Kurukshetra depots would stop in the village and for the convenience of the villagers, the timings of the buses will be mentioned at bus stops.

    MS Education Academy

The chief minister directed the Haryana Roadways general manager, Kurukshetra, to prepare a 12-hour route chart for the buses, and instruct the drivers and conductors to stop the buses on the fixed routes of Thana.

During ‘Jan Samvad’, two village residents told the chief minister that they were charged Rs 20,000-Rs 25,000 for treatment at private hospitals despite being covered under the Ayushman Bharat scheme.

On this, Khattar ordered the civil surgeon, Kurukshetra to investigate the entire matter and take appropriate action.

Pehowa MLA and Minister of State for Printing and Stationery Sandeep Singh also attended the ‘Jan Samvad’ programme.

Interacting with people in Kurukshetra’s Barna village, Khattar said sarpanches must hold meetings of the Gram Sabha once in three months.

Khattar said the ‘Jan Samvad’ programme is the best medium to take feedback from the public and see if the benefits of government policies and schemes are reaching the people.

He also met members of self-help groups (SHGs) in the village.

There are nearly 30 SHGs in Barna.

In Kurukshetra’s Karah Sahib village, the chief minister said public welfare policies will be framed on the basis of suggestions received through ‘Jan Samvad’.

The new policies will be in accordance with the hopes and aspirations of the people, he said.

Khattar started the ‘Jan Samvad’ programme in Rohtak district last year. Later, the programme was organised in Sirsa, Sonipat, Karnal, Fatehabad, Bhiwani and Palwal districts.

His three-day ‘Jan Samvad’ programme in Kurukshetra district concluded on Wednesday.

Nasir (25) and Junaid alias Juna (35), both residents of Ghatmeeka village in Rajasthan’s Bharatpur district, were allegedly abducted by cow vigilantes on February 15.

Their bodies were found inside a burnt car in Loharu in Bhiwani in Haryana on the morning of February 16.

During the initial interrogation, both the accused revealed that Junaid and Nasir were abducted on suspicion of cow smuggling. They were badly thrashed and when they failed to fetch any information regarding the smuggling from them, they took them to a local police station in Haryana but the policemen refused to take action seeing the condition they were in, the IG said.

On February 17, one of the accused Rinku Saini was arrested and based on his disclosure and other evidence collected by the police, eight others were identified and teams were sent to several states in search of them.

Apart from them, the police have issued notices to several other suspects including office bearers and members of Haryana Gau Raksha Dal but no one has turned up.

However, the arrest of the two accused will expedite the investigation of the case, IG Srivastava said.

On the involvement of cow vigilante Monu Manesar, the IG said that he was on the suspect list and his role will become clear after the questioning of Monu Rana and Gogi.

The officer said that several teams of the Rajasthan police camped in different districts undercover in search of the accused.

The accused were brought to Bharatpur and placed under arrest on Thursday night under sections 302 (murder), 365 (abduction), 367 (abduction to subject a person to grievous hurt), 368 (wrongful confinement), 201 (Causing disappearance of evidence) and 120 (B) (criminal conspiracy) and 143 (being a member of an unlawful assembly) of the Indian Penal Code.

Bhiwani killings: Owaisi slams Haryana CM over lack of progress

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Saturday slammed Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar for the lack of progress in the Bhiwani killings case in which two Muslim men from Rajasthan Junaid and Nasir, were kidnapped, lynched, and charred to death in a car in Haryana’s Bhiwani.

“Haryana CM is more worried about a boy’s election in a London college than he is about Junaid and Nasir being burnt to death in his state. The terrorists who did this had state patronage. It’s been over a month, only one accused has been arrested,” he tweeted, as a response to a video in which the Haryana CM was demanding a probe into the episode of Karan Kataria, a law student studying in UK who was disqualified from running for the general secretary post of the London School of Economics Student Union citing ‘election rule violation’.

A court in Rajasthan’s Bharatpur district sent one of the accused, Rinku Saini, to police remand on February 18 in connection with the death of two Muslim men from the state whose charred bodies were found in a car in Haryana after they were allegedly abducted by cow vigilantes.

    MS Education Academy

Station House Office, Gopalgarh, Ramnaresh Meena said no fresh arrest has been made in the case so far.

“The arrested accused Rinku Saini was produced before the court today from where he was sent to five days police remand. The accused will be further interrogated,” the SHO said.

The family members of the deceased had named five men linked to the Bajrang Dal in their complaint to the police.

Saini, 32, a resident of Firozpur Jhirka in Haryana’s Nuh district, was arrested on the basis of interrogation and technical analysis on Friday night.

He works as a taxi diver and was involved with a cow vigilante group, the police said.

The last rites of the two, who were related to each other, were conducted on February 17 after authorities announced a financial aid of Rs 20.5 lakh to each of the affected families.

One of the key accused in the case is Mohit Yadav alias Monu Manesar, the Gurugram district president of Bajrang Dal.

He was earlier named in an attempt to murder case registered at Pataudi police station in Gurugram on February 7.

While on the run, Manu Manesar released a video message claiming his innocence in the Rajasthan case.

  • Hooda promises OPS if Congress voted to power in Haryana

Hooda promises OPS if Congress voted to power in Haryana

    [ad_1]

Yamunanagar: Eyeing support of government employees, Congress leader and former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Sunday again promised restoration of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) if the party was voted to power in 2024 Assembly polls.

He slammed the BJP-JJP government for pushing the state into a debt trap, saying that a state that was once at the top of development has been number one in crime and unemployment.

Addressing the Vipaksh Aapke Samaksh and Jai Bharat Satyagraha programme organised by the Congress here, Hooda, who is the Leader of Opposition in Assembly, said Haryana is one of those states which have more debt than its state budget.

    MS Education Academy

“Today the state is immersed in a debt trap. Law and order has become worse. Haryana ranks number two in the country in crimes like murder and rape. Haryana, which was among the leading states, is rapidly lagging,” he said.

The meeting saw a large attendance with all roads leading to the programme venue were blocked.

Enthused by seeing the huge crowd, Hooda announced that the OPS will be implemented as soon as the Congress government is formed in the state.

“A pension of Rs 6,000 will be given to all elderly and we will give legal guarantee of the MSP (minimum support price). The creamy layer limit of backward class will be increased from Rs 6 lakh to Rs 10 lakh. Gas cylinders will be given to women for Rs 500 and sanitation workers would be given permanent jobs,” he promised.

Hooda said he had come to the meeting to listen to grievances of the people.

“In Haryana, farmers, laborers, traders, employees — rural and urban — and every section are repenting. Farmer is not getting the MSP. Today there is no buyer for mustard. The MSP of mustard is Rs 5,450 per quintal but farmers are forced to sell it for Rs 4,000. Potatoes have to be sold at 50 paise per kg in Pipli. It was promised to double the income of the farmer, but the agricultural cost doubled,” he added.

Expressing disagreement with the decision to end the Lok Sabha membership of Rahul Gandhi, Hooda said the Congress would fight a legal battle against this decision. “Today the Constitution itself is in danger, it needs to be protected. We will not allow the Constitution to be tampered with. No power can suppress the voice of Rahul Gandhi and the Congress.”

About the “record unemployment” in the state, he said the youths are migrating to other places for employment. “As soon as the Congress government is formed, we will provide permanent employment to the youth in Haryana itself and will fill vacant government posts,” Hooda added.

More than 24 party MLAs and 50 former ministers, former MLAs and former MPs, besides senior leaders, were present at the programme.

Former minister Ashok Arora, the convener of the Vipak Aapke Samaksh programme, conducted the meeting.

State Congress chief Uday Bhan said the BJP-led Central government is scared of Rahul Gandhi’s questions.

“What is the reason that the debt of Haryana has increased from Rs 60,000 crore to more than 3 lakh crores in the last nine years. Today the petroleum and has prices have come down in international market, but this government is not giving any relief to the common people. The time has come to overthrow this government,” he said.

MP Deepender Hooda said during the Congres government in the state four cities were connected with metro and 12 universities and medical colleges were built.

“The BJP-JJP government has derailed the state from the track of development and has pushed the youth of the state into the unemployment trap.”
