Online Applications Invited for Trainers for Hajj-2023 by J&K Haj Committee

Srinagar, Mar 17: The Jammu and Kashmir Haj Committee has invited online applications from Muslim government employees for imparting orientation/training to the pilgrims of Hajj-2023. The committee is seeking applicants between the age group of 25-60 years as of March 27, 2023.
To be eligible for the role, the applicants must have performed one Haj, preferably during the years 2018 or 2019 or 2022, and have received two doses of approved COVID-19 vaccine. Applicants must also possess thorough knowledge of the logistics and rituals of Haj and Umrah and be fully conversant and fluent in English/ Urdu/ Hindi/ local language/dialects and computer literate.
Furthermore, applicants should be efficient enough to receive/transmit the latest information/messages through email/WhatsApp and other available sources of e-Media. They must be mentally and physically fit and capable of addressing/giving lectures to relatively large gatherings and be in a position to spare time for imparting training.
The Haj Committee of India website https://hajcommittee.gov.in is accepting online applications from 11:00 hours on March 17, 2023. The last date and time for submission is 23:59 hours on March 27, 2023.
Applicants fulfilling the eligibility criteria must submit a hard copy of the online filled-in application form duly complete in all respects, along with a copy of Aadhaar, proof of having performed Hajj and Covid Vaccination Certificate through the concerned Controlling Officer to the Executive Officer, J&K Haj Committee, Srinagar up to March 30, 2023.
However, any applicant having a criminal prosecution pending against him/her shall not apply. Aspirants are advised to go through the Circular No. 5 dated: 17-03-2022 (available at https://hajcommittee.gov.in) issued by the Haj Committee of India, Mumbai.

Saudi Arabia announces refund policy for domestic Haj pilgrims

Riyadh: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) has revealed refund policies for those inside Saudi Arabia who have registered for Haj 2023, before or after issuing the permit.
The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah said that if the permit is not issued, domestic pilgrims who cancelled their registration before the 14th of Shawwal will be refunded the full amount.
In the event that the pilgrims refuse the Haj permit, the electronic services fees will be deducted.
However, 10 percent of the contract value will be deducted, in addition to the fees for e-services, from pilgrims who cancel their registration after the 15th of Shawwal and until the end of Dhul-Qada.
Any amounts paid after Dhul Hijjah 1 will not be refunded, the ministry confirmed.
According to the ministry, no refunds will be made after Dhul-Hijjah 1.
Pilgrims who, due to serious circumstances such as death, health conditions, criminal proceedings, or traffic accidents, need to be hospitalized or are infected with COVID-19 after Dhul-Hijjah 1, are exempted from the refund policy and their payment will be paid in full.
However, the authorities also clarified that acceptable proof of these reasons should be submitted along with the application for cancellation.

These concessions are also available to those whose Haj journey is cancelled due to any changes in current regulatory policies or health requirements.
Haj permit cancellation can be done through the Abshar platform and reservations can be cancelled through its website or the Nusuk app, the ministry said.
What is Haj?
The Haj pilgrimage to Makkah is a mandatory religious duty that must be performed by those Muslims who are physically and financially able to perform it at least once in a lifetime.
The Haj 2023 is expected to start on June 26 and will take place without COVID-19 restrictions, which will allow for the number of pilgrims before the pandemic.
For the last two years, Saudi Arabia had reduced the number of Muslims allowed to perform Haj to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Saudi Arabia extends deadline for Haj housing permits

Riyadh: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Haj Pilgrims Housing Committee in Makkah has extended the deadline for issuing housing permits until the end of the current month of Shaban 1444/2023, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
The committee called on all citizens and those wishing to rent their homes to quickly review the approved engineering offices to complete the procedures for issuing permits for their buildings.
The committee said that it continues to receive such requests from engineering offices accredited by the Makkah Municipality and the Civil Defense, which examine those buildings to ensure that they meet the required conditions.

As part of this process, the committee asked the owners who are interested in renting out their houses to accommodate pilgrims to comply with all safety requirements and apply for permits as soon as possible.
About Haj
Haj pilgrimage to Makkah is a mandatory religious duty that must be performed by those Muslims who are physically and financially able to perform it at least once in a lifetime.
Saudi Arabia has announced that the minimum age for this year’s Haj is 12-year-old as the number of pilgrims returns to pre-pandemic levels.
On January 10, Kingdom announced that it will no longer impose limits on the number of pilgrims for this year’s Haj after three years of restrictions to curb the COVID-19 pandemic.
In the past two years, Saudi Arabia has reduced the number of Muslims allowed to perform Haj rituals to prevent the spread of COVID-19. About 2.5 million Muslims went to Haj every year before the pandemic.

Haj 2023: Last date to submit online applications extended for Indians

The last date for the submission of Haj 2023 application form has now been extended from March 10 to March 20, 2023, according to the Ministry of Minority Affairs notice.
The submission of online applications along with documents started from February 10, 2023.
According to the new notice, Haj aspirants can submit the forms till 5 pm, Monday, March 20, 2023.
The circular released by Haj Committee of India (HCOI) on Friday, states that, “Consequently, applicants in possession of machine readable Indian International Passport issued on or before March 20, 2023 and valid up to February 2, 2024 are eligible to apply.”
The interested can submit their applications directly through the Haj website/HCOI Mobile App.
Haj 2023: Here is how to apply on Haj website
Visit the official Haj website and click on Haj 2023
Select the “Online Application Form” and click on “New Registration”
Enter the details including user ID, password, first name, last name, state, province, and security code
After entering all the details click on Register
Upon successful sending of OTP, a confirmation message will appear on the screen
Enter your User Id (Mobile number) and password
Choose the appropriate application category. Select the number of persons and infants. Click on the “GO NEXT” button.
After successful submission of details, the applicant has to upload the documents – passport photograph, first page of passport, last page, copy of canceled cheque, vaccination certificate
Click on Final Submit and you will receive the alert message. Click OK
After clicking on Final Submit, a system-generated unique group ID indicating successful completion of the HAF will be displayed.
Download the filled Haj application form by clicking on the “Download HAF2023” button
On January 9, the Indian Consulate in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia tweeted that India had signed the bilateral Hajj 2023 agreement with Saudi Arabia. According to the agreement, a total of 1,75,025 Indian pilgrims will be able to perform the Haj, which is said to be the highest in history.

MC Stan talks about his plans for Haj, joining Jamaat this year

Hyderabad: Passport office set up special counters for Haj applicants

Hyderabad: Regional Passport Office has set up two special counters for issuing passports of Haj 2023 applicants. In Begumpet and Secunderabad, 250 passport applications were disposed of in a day under special counters.
The Regional Passport Officer D. Ballaiah has said that the applicants will be ensured to issue passports before March 10 after complying with all the necessary matters so that they can apply for Haj before the deadline.
Chairman Haj Committee Mohammad Saleem met D. Ballaiah and handed over the list of interested candidates who will be able to submit Haj applications online if they are issued passports before March 10.
The Haj Committee of India started online applications on February 10 and March 10 is the last date. After the representation, two special counters were set up at RPO Begumpet and Secunderabad. The Telangana Haj Committee handed over the recommendation letters of around 450 people to the Regional Passport Officer.
Meanwhile, the passport applications of pilgrims pending on Monday will be resolved. Meanwhile, the Telangana Haj Committee has so far received more than 5,200 applications online for Haj 2023. More than 1200 cover numbers were issued.
The Haj Committee of India is expected to extend the deadline for submission of online applications beyond March 10.

Hyderabad: Special drive to process passport applications for Haj on Mar 4

Hyderabad: As the last date for submitting applications for performing Haj this year is fixed as March 10 and in order to facilitate requests of Haj aspirants, the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) in Begumpet and the Regional Passport Office are going to hold a special drive on March 4.
The Telangana State Haj Committee in a letter has requested for processing approximately 450 passport applications of Haj aspirants. Applications of all such applicants who have been referred by the Telangana State Haj Committee will be processed in this drive, a press note informed.
The applicants are advised to carry all originals and copies of required documents while visiting PSK, Begumpet.
As a special measure, this time it has been decided, to open two counters in RPO, Secunderabad premises for processing Haj applications, the press note fruther stated.
