Hyderabad: Fourth training session for Haj pilgrims held at Sahifa Mosque

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: The training session aimed to familiarize pilgrims with the rituals of Haj and Umrah as well as the manners in Makkah and Madinah held at Sahifa Mosque, Azampura.

Scholars and Mashaikheen, including Dr. Umar Ali Farooqi Qadri, Muniruddin Sufiani, Maulana Syed Shah Noorullah Qadri, Maulana Syed Shah Murtaza Ali Sufi Haider Qadri, Maulana Syed Shah Mustafa Ali Sufi Saeed Qadri, Maulana Syed Bandgi Badshah Riaz Qadri, and Assistant Executive Officer Irfan Sharif, addressed the gathering.

Mohammed Saleem also shared that the Central Government has reduced the travel expenses of Haj 2023 by Rs 60,000 following successful representation. Additionally, the Haj Committee of India has abolished the scheme of providing 2100 Saudi Riyals and reduced the total expenditure by Rs 60,000. Pilgrims will now have to buy riyals on their own.

    MS Education Academy

He also shared that the caretakers of Rubat has assured arrangements for Rubat for 500 pilgrims this year, and the situation will be clear within a week. The selected pilgrims will be chosen via lottery and will save Rs 50,000. Mohammed Saleem emphasized that the Haj Committee will monitor arrangements from departure from the Haj camp until the return after the completion of Haj.

Moreover, 15 Khadim-ul-Hujaj have been selected from Telangana and will be interviewed on May 9. The selection will be based on the interview. Mohammed Saleem also urged pilgrims to focus on worship rather than using mobile phones and social media during their stay in Makkah and Madinah. He encouraged pilgrims to continue organizing prayers and other worships regularly even after Haj.

He said it was also necessary to be acquainted with the local rules and regulations of the host country so that they could have a peaceful and memorable journey to the holy land.

Mohammed Saleem emphasized that the Haj Committee has made arrangements for the Hajj camp and Hajj terminal and will continue to serve the pilgrims like servants.

  • Telangana: A whopping 76 women will perform Haj without Mehram this year

Telangana: A whopping 76 women will perform Haj without Mehram this year

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: With preparations underway to welcome hajis ahead of Haj Season 2023, the Telangana State Haj Committee (TSCH) confirmed that 76 women applications have come from those who are ready to travel without a mehram (a male relative who is like a guardian and with whom marriage is unlawful).

Data shows that these 76 women, around 45 of whom are from Hyderabad, have applied to make the journey to Makkah in Saudi Arabia under the “without mehram” category which was introduced during the tenure of the then Union Minister for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi.

The number of applications received this year are significantly higher, given the fact that last year media reports stated that only four women had applied.

    MS Education Academy

TSHC sources said that there are broadly two reasons why the number of women who have resolved to perform the Haj this year is higher. The first is the unavailability of a mehram. The second is that the maslak (school of Islamic thought) of the nearly a quarter of these applicants permits them to make the pilgrimage alone without a mehram. A probable third reason is that awareness about this particular category has increased over time.

“One of the important reasons for these number of applications under the without mehram category is that their mehrams, sons or fathers or husbands of these women, are not living in India. They are living abroad. The without mehram category is convenient for them and provides for them to make the pilgrimage, which is one of the five pillars of Islam. It could be possible that their mehrams will join them at the pilgrimage. The second reason why we have seen a significant increase is on account of many women applicants being from the Shia community. There are about 22 or 23 such applications,” a source said.

In an attempt to make things easier for their women applicants, and also for the sake of bringing about a streamlining of processes in managing Haj pilgrims, the Union government decided to lay down a procedure that groups of four women who have applied under the without mehram category will be assigned a common cover number.

According to data, around 2,000 women from all over the country had applied under the without mehram category. Naqvi, who was attending an orientation programme in the national capital in May last year, said that about 3,000 women performed the haj without a mehram since the time the without mehram category was introduced.

While over 8,600 applications were sent to the TSHC this year, a total of 5,278 Haj pilgrims were selected and are scheduled to make their journey this year. It is likely that given the sliding of haj slots due to cancellations for various reasons, more from Telangana will make the pilgrimage.

  • Telangana Haj pilgrims denied rubat facility in 2023 amid delay in Saudi building rules

Telangana Haj pilgrims denied rubat facility in 2023 amid delay in Saudi building rules

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: Haj pilgrims from Telangana will not be able to avail the facility of rubat during Haj 2023 due to the delay in issuing details regarding the stay of pilgrims in rubat in Makkah by the Government of Saudi Arabia. Hussain Muhammad Al Sharif, the authority responsible for managing the rubats, has informed the Haj Committee of India and the Consul General in Jeddah about the issue.

According to sources, the Government of Saudi Arabia has recently formulated new rules regarding the stay in buildings, and it is not immediately possible to get permission to stay in the rubat building until all necessary issues are complied with. The government has not yet issued any description regarding the new rules, making it impossible for pilgrims to stay in rubat during Haj 2023. With the departure of pilgrims scheduled to begin from June 7, obtaining permission to stay in rubat seems unlikely.

In response to the situation, the CEO of the Haj Committee of India, Mohammad Yaqoob Shaikh, has written a letter to the administration of all Indian rubats seeking clarification. The letter was sent not only to the Nizam Rubat in Hyderabad but also to the rubat committees of Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, Mumbai, Karnataka, and Rajasthan.

    MS Education Academy

Shaikh has also informed the Consul General of Jeddah and the Chief Executive Officer of the Haj Committee of India about the latest situation. He said that if the Central and State Haj Committees cooperate, efforts can be made to ensure the facility of rubat for the pilgrims in Haj 2024. Meanwhile, the Haj Committee of India has started paying the last installment of the pilgrims.

It is a disappointing development for the pilgrims of Telangana who were hoping to stay in rubat during their Haj pilgrimage. The authorities are yet to clarify the situation, and it remains to be seen if any further steps will be taken to resolve the issue.

The Ministry of Haj indicated that the last time to complete the immunizations is ten days before the start of the Haj season.

It is noteworthy that the Pilgrims Housing Committee had announced the start of receiving applications for permits for buildings designed to accommodate pilgrims since September 2022, and it is still continuing until now.

Hyderabad: Haj House reviews arrangements for pilgrims

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: The Telangana Haj Committee has announced that the departure of batches of Haj pilgrims from Telangana for Haj 2023 will begin on June 7. The Hyderabad embarkation point is expected to see around 5,200 pilgrims leave for the Hajj. The announcement was made following a meeting held by the Telangana Haj Committee at Haj House recently.

During the meeting, arrangements for the Hajj camp and the departure and return of the pilgrims were finalized. Speaking to media persons after the meeting, Chairman Haj Committee Mr. Mohammed Saleem, Chairman, Telangana Waqf Board Mr. Masihullah Khan, and Executive Officer Mr. B. Shafiullah informed that the convoys will leave for Jeddah from Hyderabad between June 7 and 22, according to the schedule prepared by the Haj Committee of India. The return of the pilgrims is scheduled to begin on July 13, with the last convoy reaching Hyderabad on August 2.

Mr. Mohammed Saleem further informed that Vistara Airlines will be providing the services for Telangana pilgrims, and that 5,000 passports are being sent to the Haj Committee of India. He added that the government and its departments are providing full cooperation regarding the arrangements of the Hajj camp. The police, fire service, water works, medical and health, electricity, and GHMC will all be providing their services at the camp.

    MS Education Academy

Under the new rules, pilgrims will have to obtain a fitness certificate after an inspection in government hospitals, and the schedule of vaccination will be announced soon. The tent of the Hajj camp will be fully air-conditioned, and pilgrims will leave for the airport by air-conditioned buses. A separate terminal will be provided for the pilgrims at the airport, where immigration and other essential procedures will be carried out.

According to Mohammad Saleem, the pilgrims will be sent to the airport from Hajj House four hours in advance. He also stated that there is no shortage of budget for Hajj arrangements and the government will release the necessary funds.

Pilgrims hailing from parts of Karnataka and Maharashtra will leave from Hyderabad, and the number of pilgrims from the Telangana Haj Committee is expected to be around 6,000. Additionally, 7,000 to 8,000 pilgrims are expected to leave from the Hyderabad Embarkation Point. On May 23, a coordination meeting of all departments has been convened at Haj House for Haj arrangements.

This year, the provision of 2100 riyals has been stopped to the pilgrims, so they will have to deposit the amount as expenses and purchase Saudi Riyals on their own. This year, 500 pilgrims will stay in Nizam Rubat, and the number is expected to increase.

From Telangana, 15 Khadim-ul-Hujjaj have been selected, and five have been placed on the waiting list. Khadim al-Hujjaj will be interviewed to assess their experience and abilities. Saudi Arabia extends deadline for Makkah Haj housing

    [ad_1]

Riyadh: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Haj Pilgrims Housing Committee in Makkah has extended the deadline for issuing housing permits until May 20.

The committee said that the relevant requests will continue until the end of the current month of Shawwal, which is expected to end on May 20.

The committee urged real estate owners interested in renting their homes for this purpose to review approved engineering offices to finalize the permits, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

    MS Education Academy

Applications are submitted by engineering offices accredited by Makkah Municipality and Civil Defence, who will examine those buildings to ensure they meet the required safety and health conditions.

As part of this process, the committee asked the owners who are interested in renting out their houses to accommodate pilgrims to comply with all safety requirements and apply for permits as soon as possible.

In December 2022, the committee began receiving applications for permits for buildings to be approved to house pilgrims for the upcoming Haj season and has since extended the deadline several times.

Haj pilgrimage to Makkah is a mandatory religious duty that must be performed by those Muslims who are physically and financially able to perform it at least once in a lifetime.

Saudi Arabia has announced that the minimum age for this year’s Haj is 12-year-old as the number of pilgrims returns to pre-pandemic levels.
